Annie Mae having discomfort in her eyes and taking pain meds. Hope she gets her eye surgery soon. Snuggs is doing great, oblivious to everything except her food :)). You smelling the fires by you?

oh, poor Annie Mae, hoping she gets relief soon. Snugs sounds like a cutie. I didn't go outside today (except to empty trash and that was quick). Was down in OC this evening, beautiful there (oh, but you would know that right?). Not too bad here. Have heard a lot of the low flying heavy-duty helicopters, like the water dropping kind yesterday and today.

reminds me, Sassy, playing the "let's escalate this" insurance problems. Seems they correct one issue and cause another. And they want ME to be patient with their errors? That would be no. Did throw out, "should I call my senator or rep to get this corrected?" Politely told them they needed to escalate the issues to the highest level. Fat lotta good that's going to do me!

Now that's it's been posted to FB, my DD was awarded 2 scholarships tonight at her college's banquet. So wonderful all her efforts have been recognized. (Especially after the week I had, glad for something to smile about)

The last time i was in the OC was on Wednesday. It was 102 degrees that day there!! Crazy hot weather. Tonight I got home at 9:30 and realized I left my iPad at work. So I drove back near Temecula tonight at 10 pm, the 15 FWy was backed up. Hard to see clearly because of the thick smoke from the new fire on the base. I hear next week we will finally get cooler weather. Let's hope so.

Yowza! The thermometer on the back patio read over 100* (was it Thursday or Friday?), anyway, just too hot. Sorry you had to make the extra trip, at least it wasn't to OC.

Yes, Temecula area much closer. I never mind long drives though, I like driving, don't like heavy traffic. I notice you are posting on Inland Empire get togethers. Hope to see everyone again. That's great your daughter got awarded 2 scholarships. No one wants to pay those high long term student loans. I am still paying mine :(

    Sorry, busy writing a PM...

Traffic sucked at 5 PM (91/57 awful).  Don't know how you do it every day, but then again, I used to drive up the 605/5 area. I'm sure I'm boring everyone else on this thread!

let's not talk about college loans..... Glad North OC has generous rich people. Yes, trying to generate IE interest for get-together, we'll see what happens. Would love to see you again.

Am rambling again, must be getting tired (I could only wish).

How fun, you two talk to each other, like you are on the phone, or are close together!   So sorry about all the fires!  It is just so frightful and awful!

I remember about 10 years ago, there was a fire up in the mountains, near Bailey I think it was, and the SMOKE was covering Denver!  It was so bad, and yes all the ash was falling everywhere.   I had to stay IN, run the humidifier, keep all the windows closed, and had an asthma attack anyway.   So if you have any problems at all, it will surely make breathing worse.

Take care of little Annie Mae little Paws....  I know you are.... wish I could help......

And congratulations 222222222nd!  Good Job!   You AND your Daughter!  I'll bet you gals are on cloud 9!

    22222nd It's wonderful to hear about u'r DD--Congratulations for both of u.

I didn't realize the fires were getting so bad so soon. Jeez U have to really watch what's going on and be careful. I didn't even know it was that ho-OMG that's horrible. way to hot. I'm glad u 2 got to talk. I hav no idea why this is underlined, I hit something.

So Good Morning everyone else--I'll see how much I will be awake--Oh of course I took my shower Oh I smell so good the aroma is permeating my room.--delicious

We actually had snow yesterday but rain today, like 7 degrees warmer--it's cold out, like the beginning of winter--I'm telling you very soon it's going to be so hot we won't be able to stand it. Damn weather--We'r supposed to have 4 seasons, yea well it's turning into 2 nd 1/2 the last couple of yrs. Oh well, OK I'm going to get my coffee I hear people up so I know coffe is ready--they don't like my coffee so I rarely make it. They drink like 3/4 cup--that's all and it's weak---not me--Oh well.

    Maybe BBL

Cammi! WTH did you DO with your LINES ???  how did you do that?  I can't even DO it, no matter how I tried!   You must be smart AND permeated!   Smartypants!  A shower, eh?  Always trying to beat me to one...

Yes, you got our cold wet snowy weather!  It's nicer out here now, but still supposed to rain, and  stay above 40 degrees at night!

They talk about our 4 seasons here, too!  Spring, Summer, Fall, Mud and Winter.  We really are lucky here though.... nothing too extreme in the big city...

Just everyone smoking weed though, I think.  Funny, they are talking about how State Revenue is way up, and crime is way down!   That's because smoking weed must be VERY expensive, and you are too fogged up to go cause trouble!   Am I the only one who is still so old-fashioned that it just seems wrong?   And don't go telling me to go try it.... ain't gonna happen...  I would be too afraid it would screw up my brain.... shut up Cammi....  xoxoxoxoxo

Hahahaha Chevy  I have no idea how I did that I didn't do anything  with the above thingies, now If I wanted to I can't chit. Yea thanks for the snow Chevy not appreciated but somehow I knew u'd get it here. When I saw it right away u came to my mind not pleasantly either. LOL

Well, at least it won't stick around!   So you mean you didn't put on your boots and parka, and go play in the snow?  I saw the little 4 year old next door, "Ivy"  CRAWL in the snow from her back yard to the front!  Ha, ha!  Her little Sister just watched her in amazement!  I mean there was like 6 inches out there, and Ivy was enjoying it completely!

I am now the official Chicken Sitter until Sunday night!  Yay!  I don't exactly SIT for them, I just take them scraps and food, and I take Edith the cat her canned food...Ha!

So the bottom line here is, I don't get "high" and I don't like to "fly"..... Ha, ha!  Seems like an oxymoron or something.... Let's ask Sass or Lilshit what that MEANS!

hi all, headed out of town for a wedding soon.  Will be a fun night with family.  Tomorrow, meeting a Milwaukee-area BCO sister for Sun brunch.  (but sassy not at a CB LOL!)

2TA, that happy cat is from the internet.  Had to post it to W&F for Teka, she always makes me smile!

Badger,  :)  Have fun at the wedding :) Yes it's Don Quixote. Yes, chasing a windmill again and pondering it's if it's worth the effort. What's different here is they can hit a delete button and I can't. That's an awfully powerful control. Orwellian.
It's not just that we disagree. There were very specific reasons I posted the needymeds web site where I did. They never asked. They just said I was spamming and hit delete.

Anyways, I've pondered enough, I'm going to do a thread and try to have an open debate.

So, it's done here now. Chevy :)

Teka, never been good at that LOL :)

Blessings-----bad bad finger. Are you going to get it fixed? The  AI's are such poison. They are justhorrid to the body.

Pawprint  :) yes, the avatar went from one DQ looking at a windmill.  To one that charged the windmill. Then to this quieter DQ. So sorry you all are going through such awful fires. scary, scary, stuff. 1998 we had fires here in Florida for months. At the first or second one that there was talk of evacuation. I packed laundry baskets. One had important paper and pics--in case that was the only one we could grab. The others had keepsakes wrapped in underwear ,sox, and clothes. That way there was no lost space. Some how I calculated how many baskets could be loaded  into the minivan. Laundry baskets b/c they could stack and they had handles. They stayed packed until August. Don't think I did food, now I would do a food basket and liquids

I've assisted on bone marrow bx's. ????'s Hmm don't know anything ( I think)  about your blood problem, but I'll take a look :)

SNOW? I wish we had that long enough to chill our heat.

Cami, how DID you do the underline? Can't do on the pad that I know.

Chevy, the Chicken Sitter? Don't know why, that gives me the giggles this morning. Maybe I'm tired

It's been an emotionally tough week. Glad it's over, ended on a great note.

For the record, I think Pawprint and I are geographically close, maybe 25-30 miles? Pawprint, you'd know better.

    Happy Saturday all!

    Badger enjoy the wedding!

Cami, each joint in the skeleton has a Range Of Motion (  ROM) that the joint can move through. There are multiple types of joints. Each joint type is defined by what  the range of motion i.e minimal to 360 degrees. One thing in common to all joints, is when they aren't moved on a regular basis the tendons tighten up. When the tendons tighten up, the joint is limited in it's movement. When a joint is totally immobile, the accepted medical description is it"s frozen

Frozen shoulder can be a complication of any sx that the shoulder is not allowed to move through it's rotation. The debate re: immobilization of the shoulder for breast  & lymph sx is whether it's neccessary. My conclusion from research for my sx in 2009. was, that it's never been adequately studied. There was allot of surmising that it helped to prevent seromas with the tube in place. Also, that the tube was more secure b/c ROM activity would pull the tube out of place. Nice thoughts , but wasn't backed up by and scientific evidence

I wouldn't advise anyone else to do this, but within 12 hours of sx I was doing full ROM. Docs weren't happy, but just as I said the research didn't support the usual practice

Immobilization after breast surgery was  established  when Radical Mastectomy was first started in the 1880's or 1890's. Often things were done that seemed to be the right thing to do, not necessarily helpful or even good. As time progressed methods /treatments were changed. Shoulder immobilization hasn't been studied

My interest in it at BMX came from my experience as a 19y/o. Four wisdom teeth were pulled in the same day. My jaw froze b/c I didn't move it. Movement caused pain. Pain was less, with no movement. No one told me it should be moved, so, I didn't. TMJ joint problems ever since

Trigger finger- this link to Mayo Clinic is very good for explaining trigger finger.

New thread--construction complete, but not seen under active topics. But hasn't been deleted. My hope is that it will remain intact until Melissa and the editorial board read it :)

2nd , had to buy extra clothes  LOL b/c the baskets stayed packed for about 2-3 months. Had them in the living room in order of what was to be moved out first. It was an organized mess.

    maddy, congratulations re:DD scholarships YAY.

Pawprint there is allot of stuff on the web re:your iron. But I think you need to ask your doc what diagnosis he has given you. He may not of told you a diagnosis, but in order to get insurance approval he had too. Otherwise it wouldn't be covered. Since the reasons are very different in origin and meaning. I seriously suggest you ask them directly. You could read volumes and have no answer. :) sassy

I had a shoulder reconstruction in 2001 (arthroscopically, thank goodness) - it was outpatient, and I got home at 3 pm.

At 4 pm the doorbell rang and in walked these delivery men with a ratty looking plastic chair with a robotic arm on it. I had to sit in the chair with my bandaged arm in the tray, and DH programmed it to move gently back and forth.

I was 2 hours out of surgery and still under anesthesia and falling off the chair, so DH had to prop me up.

Every day I had to sit in that chair every few hours while it put my arm thru wider movements. It was a PITA, but today I have complete range of motion in that shoulder.

(Dang, it sucks to type with a metal brace on my finger! Perhaps I should rethink posting for a while.)

Flipping off all my sweet Owlettes! xoxoxo
