  • So happy to see Ziggy back!  Yes, bluebirds are hard to lure to an area. They love "edge" habitats. Open fields and woods. Some people have luck with mealworms, but yuck.... I'm not a mealworm kind of girl.  I will be your one true bluebird!

Until you get your official oriole feeder, you can try putting up a nail that holds half an orange. Fill the center with a tablespoon of grape jelly, and they love that too. Easy oriole feeder!  I sometimes eat the orange and just use the skin. They mostly just love the jelly and the orange color attracts them.

Lee, that is really sad. I used to work in a counseling center and although it is hard to understand, try to remember the murder suicide is one of mental illness. They are not in their right mind at the time. Mental illness is just like any other disease like cancer that you can't always see. I pray for the ones who are the shooters as well as the victims. Both have families that are grieving and hurt. I'm sorry this clouded your new move which should be a happy one.

Soteria, don't challenge Chevy! She will have you up and pole dancing in no time!

Chevy, my mom had some balance issues and couldn't ride a bike when she got older. My dad bought her that bike! She was mortified and refused to ever use it. So it went on to a yard sale.

    Good morning owlettes....

I love that bike you posted Chevy. It's so funny, just like FBB family, my dad got my mom that bike, and she never once rode it. I think it's a cool bike and I would ride a bike like that if I had one.

I noticed after my iron infusion on Thursday afternoon I had slightly more energy. I usually do something and rest. I was able to shower and not have to rest afterwards :)) hey Cami do you rest after your showers?

My television set kept going out over the last month. I'd be watching it and the screen would go black for about 10-15 minutes. So I found a great deal on a 50" Smart Samsung television bundled with a Samsung Blu-Ray player. It arrived Thursday morning. So today I will attempt to set it up...let's see how smart I am setting up a Smart television. Got some friends coming over to assist. I am very techno challenged.

Blessings, did you get some rest? Love the sweet kitty!

Smaarty, those dresses are stunning! Amazing job you did, they beautifully (and I bet saved a chunk of change)

$oteria, $o good for extra $$$ (love the new avatar too).

Good luck, Pawprint, I hate the technical stuff, I can do it, just frustrating and takes me so long. But then, you have a new TV! Hoot, hoot!

Chevy, love the bike! I could ride that one without falling off! And with 2 baskets could carry a little sum thing, sum thing too.

Lee, am so sorry! Stuff like that shakes the soul. It doesn't seem right at all (cuz it isn't). FBB explained it best.

Cami, enjoy the deck, watch the furbabies.

For anyone I forgot, have a great Saturday!

Paw, I have that same tv and live it.

Chevy, yes I went dancing. Not good at it, but love it.

I have been telling the doctors about the pain but they all blow me off. However, I see a new doctor on June 9, so we shall see what he says.

The problem with my pain is it's so inconsistent. I guess that's why they are not concerned.

Sorry about the murder stuff, that's awful.

However one of my friends just lost his 3 year old GGD she drowned in her GF pool. So very sad.

Of course I'm still behind but going for a nap.

Just dropped by to see who else was awake at 3 am, EST, because I am :)

I just bought and am wearing an UP bracelet by jawbone which tracks how many steps a person takes during the day and also how that person sleeps during the night. It seems to be accurate. Now I know how much sleep I get and also how much deep sleep vs light sleep and what times I was awake, as it shows up in graph form in an app on my phone. Its been interesting so far. I'll be curious to see what it records tonight.

I got it at the apple store after a woman I met in a clothing store, who has also gone through the same cancer treatments I had, showed me hers and explained that it helped her to be sure she got enough walking done each day. It's a lot easier than using a clip on pedometer as I used to do when I was trying to get going again after chemo.

Meanwhile I can hear my daughter's hedgehog running busily in the wheel in his cage in the other room. They are nocturnal. If I peek in at him he stops running and scuttles off to hide under the napkin he loves to burrow under.

It sure is boring to be awake at this hour. Maybe I will go downstairs and make some camomile tea and see what's on TV. Nighty, night!

Morning Hortense!  I have never heard of an UP bracelet!  That is amazing!  Are you sure you just didn't make that up?  Ha!

I think most of the gals on here could use one, because nothing worse than going to bed, and not being able to sleep!  Not me.... I have always been able to go to bed early, and get up early.... except when I took Tamoxifen!  Then the night belonged to IT.....  As soon as I stopped taking that drug, I was back to normal....  I mean as much as I COULD be....Winking

Hedgehogs are just the cutest!   Are their habits more like Gerbils and Hamsters?

Well welcome anyway... Hope you hang around awhile.....

Yes Teka!  No messes.... unless you mean of course the chicken-coop?    Or maybe our garage?   I need to go organize it again.

I just set the table for all of us!  Lunch in the garden!

OK give it a rest Chevy, u didn't do that--did u???? It's to beautiful. Well I picture u as a plate ad fork type with paper towels for napkins, Oh that's me.

Welcome Hortense Hope u come back this thread is usually going 24/7 for the most part. But that braclet sounds so cool. I've never heard of that either, but then again I still wonder how the mood ring works. So just stop by anytime--we're around.

Hope everyone as a great day and I again love the pics.

Yum! What are we having? Waffles AND Chiliquilas, pleeease?

2ta - I didn't completely finish my post before. I hope things are going a little better. As to your daughter.. I was a REAL lilshit to my mother for many years. I don't know why.. sometimes I think it was because she is such a strong woman & so loved that it was like her personality would overshadow mine if I got too close. I think, maybe, I had to reject her in order to figure out who I was separate from her. But I can't imagine the hell I put her through. I didn't ever for a second stop loving her, though..

Ahhhh!  GOOD one Lilshit!    Both of our Daughter's  have different personalities.... One is a "take charge" kind of gal, and the one that lives close to us, is really mellow, and happy all the time....  She is easy to be around!

No!  We are having Spam casserole and  Noodleburgers, and Watermelon..... Anything else?  We need lots of carbs....   and oh!  chocolate cokes and screw-drivers.

Wow Chevy u cook a lot, I hve never had spam, that's strange I guess. When I shopped I kind of shopped like my mom (when I cooked) cuz that's all I knew so we seldom had can food in our house, well now we do but none of us ever buy spam. Strange.

So I suppose you've never had corned-beef hash either?  Or Chipped Beef gravy on toast?  THAT is the best!    My Mom always made Noodleburgers....  Has been a favorite for the whole family.... even still!  It's just chopped hamburger, browned, and then you add lots of chopped onion, and celery.  Then add one can of Rotele tomatoes, and a can of tomato sauce, and a can or 2 or 3 of water, and let it simmer..... When tender, then add about 10 or 12 oz of your favorite noodles, or farfelli, or even shells!  Let it set together a few minutes, and  eat it all up!    I love it with corn on the cob, and hot bread.

Yum, Chevy!  Corned beef hash and creamed chipped beef on toast, that's good stuff.  My dad would make reubens for us too.  You're making me hungry!

    Teka sounds good.

Oh I love corn beef hash, and with breakfast it's the best and chit on a shingle--I like that too, but I never could make it when I was married both my ex's were in the service and they din't like it at all, but my SIL makes it sometimes and yummy--Oh and my DD2 makes a super Rueben dip and she doubles the recipe so we have some here too. Yummy And actually Chevy what u'r mom made sounds good, just mix all this good stuff together and put it on u'r favorit PASTA and it might be all right adding romano cheese and peppers and oil. That's the Italian in me.

Teka - DH was a volunteer firefighter before we got married, and I was in the Women's Auxiliary in the mountain community where he lived. We put on SO many pancake breakfasts, spaghetti dinners, tri-tip BBQs, and ice cream socials at the firehouse - all as fundraisers to buy more equipment. The funny thing was, everything was FREE. We just asked for donations. We got tons of $$$ that way. So many poor families up there put in what little they could; the next guy would drop $50 in the coffee can. SO much fun!

Susan - you ROCK, Woman!!! ThumbsUp   Love the pics... love your obnoxious quirky spirit! Now rest those tootsies.

Susan, having the Mods stop by is like having the school Principal come into the class and tell you "Well done Susan!"
