yes, California is still awake, only 10:15 here. Any chance a 42" band would fit you? I can send you pics also. Would be happy to mail to you. Can't wear them and too big now anyway.  I have 3 of them. Never wore 2 of them.

Sacramento is fine. The news this morning made it sound like a small EQ, but tonight it's showing a lot of damage. Napa is about 70 miles away.

Thanks Smaarty, too big here also. I gave mine to the BC nurse who would pass them on to ladies who couldn't afford proper bras.

Getting dinner on so will be back soon.

Morning Blondie & Alyson, and now I forget who else!  Loopy

I've just been on "chat" with Norton security, TRYing to download the new version of the program that expired!  What a PITA!  But he worked my computer remotely, and it is all finished now.

I just had to "remodel" my good bra's!   Had to take the cup in.... So I made diagnal cuts in each cup, and overlapped them, and stitched it all up, and now the cup fits better.

I thought I was going to have to stuff them with kleenex, like we USED to... Ha!

I'm just still trying to get the house ready for DD coming!  It's been about 4 years since I have seen her!  Just wish I could hold her on my lap like when she was little again....   We talk all the time, but now I'll get to SEE her!

Blondie, you doing alright?  I think of you lots.....

Cammi little honey.... There IS no news..... No, don't watch the news.... it usually isn't good anyway.  So no news is good news.

That earthquake she was talking about was about 20 years ago, I think....

Ok, still don't have any pics from my daughter or SIL who was taking pics, but this is one snapped by a friend from their phone, that's why it's blurry!  That's me and DH on the dance floor and the preggo is my DD and the young lady with the baby is my niece!  They were watching us "try" to line dance!  It was a good night!

Morning to everyone, sorry the link didn't work!

  • good morning ladies. Thanks to everyone who responded.  Feeling a lot better today. Thanks Chevy for posting the procedure. I had it done  once before and they did a bone biopsy at the same time but not nearly as much hammering. Dr said those bones had had radiation which is why they were so hard. Yes they actually used a few hammers that looked like a rubber mallet. Yes I was awake. Dr said when he was done that is was by far the hardest bone he had ever worked on he apologized and said he should have put me to sleep and if there is a next time he will. Weird how hard the bones were but they break so easily when I do absolutely nothing. I am still black and blue and green.  But def better this morning.

Smarty - I seen that earthquake on tv. How scary.

Nettie. - what an awesome family you have. Congrats on 30 year anniversary. Very rare these days.  Sounds like you had an awesome time.  Hope all that dancing didn't cause more back pain.

Blondie / so glad you posted.  Hope you finally got some sleep last night so you can enjoy your gs today.

Alyson - in USA mastectomy bras are free with insurance. I can get them twice a year. I have 2 or 3 mast bras that still have the tag on them too big now. Size 38b I would gladly mail them to you for free if you could use them.

Chevy. Do excited for you that your dd is coming for a visit.  How long will she get to stay ?  Seems like she lives in FL, right ? Have you been crazy busy cooking all her favorite foods? Well whatever y'all do I hope you make some new great memories.

Cami - only 7 more hours Til school is out and kids are home. Counting down the  hours.

Susan - if you are lurking ( I know you are taking a beak ) just wanted to let you know you are in my thoughts and prayers.

    2nd / big hugs

Enerva . Sounds like you are prepared for surgery and recovery.

Hi to all I missed. Hope you have a great day

Patty, if you can call 1 month and 4 days making me a cougar, then yes, I guess I am!  LOL

  • okay ladies I need some help. I need a recipe to use up some  apples that are starting to get soft. I always make cinnamon or red hot apples but kinda bored with that. Ds and dh don't like apple salad. I know I could look online but would get the best recipes with reviews from you talented women. So something easy peasy using what I have a hand using my apples. Any ideas ??

  • Take a muffin mix or your own. Spread in a pan so it is half an inch or so deep. Peal and it apple in wedges. Push each piece up and down the cake sheet very close toGether. A little sugared cinnamon and nut meg over it bake  until apples are cooked. Can put walnuts on top too. Eat as is or with whipped cream. Or ice cream. As is for breakfast. After all it is a muffin mix. Or really easy...chop apples put in mix..will have more apple than mix...spread on pan. 375 until cooked will have to check. Depends on mix and size of cut up apples

This is good for glutton free. Using glutton free mix.

Cut the core out, stuff with peanut butter. Nuke till Apple is soft.

Applesauce. Slice apples, cook till soft. Put through Foley mill, add sugar cinnamon to taste. May be frozen.

someone here said she'd take the bras and prostheses back in February or march. She's down in the LA area. Let me know who you are and I'll send them to you. 42" band with size 6 inserts. White, cream and maroon. Also have a tank top that you can have too.

Thanks all for the bra info, I will PM people later. 3rd, its a very different system here. Most of our health care is state run and even if we have extra insurance it doesn't cover bras and things. We get a grant for prosthesis and bras every four years but it is at such a level that you can only get the prosthesis and two bras and that is supposed to do you for four years. It is very difficult for people with lymphoedema to get more than one proper bra and I have seen women paying them off at $10 a week. Sorry this is a soap box I have been on many times. I am lucky that I can buy bras when I want and need them. I have always loved pretty things and It took me ages to go into any lingerie shop after my mx. Luckily I have found some very pretty bras that have wider sides and straps.

I am waiting for someone to come and give me a quote to do our garden. I am finding the heavy stuff too much even though I love gardening. DH is unable to do it as he has heart problems and gets too tired so I have to do something to sort it out. My sister who lives with us does some but she will weed but not get down and get the roots so everything is back up quickly. Once it has been cleaned I will be able to manage.

    Big hugs

omg so many ideas for apples it's making me want to be there when she is done with what ever she makes ;)

  • yum yum. Sounds delicious. I gave enough apples I think I am gonna try 2 recipes. Both the apple muffin for breakfast tomorrow but make it tonight and the apple with peanut butter in the middle in the microwave with supper tonight. Thanks ladies .

  • I often find somehow I have apples  to use up because they are going soft. Please keep the recipes coming. Thanks
