aww thanks but they found someone. Believe it or not, they lived for more than two years in St. Augustine while my son was in school at USA.
He really is a good little dog, I still can't comprehend how they can give him away. My pets are part of my family and this little guy has spent a lot of time around me, since they lived in out cottage for over a year and then we have kept him anytime they went anywhere and then they would also bring him over every time they came. I'm just so sad about it.

See he WAS their child.

Okay, nettie, I get the sadness.....never would give up a furbaby.0 -
This would be me. From Warm and Fuzzy thread

Spookie yes that would be me too!! the most spankings that I have given my granddaughter has been over how she treats my animals! I didn't allow my kids to squeeze or carry around my puppies or kitties and I won't have my grandkids doing it!!

PaPa was SUPPOSED to be watching GS#1, who had been telling me SPOOKIE had been flying. Oh? How did Spookie do that? He showed me. Spook was about 5 months old, 5#.
I didn't know who to smack first. Both kids have been smacked for improper behavior with my dogs, other gma does too.
0 -
Yes, Spookie that happens here too when Papaw is supposed to be watching!! I'm with you, I don't know who to smack first! LOL
I think it's important for kids to learn how to behave around animals, it teaches them things!

Yeah. That dumb stuff like respect, feelings, pain.
Don't mess with my 2 legged or 4 legged kids, or mama bear will get you.

American food I thought chicken and dumplings or fried chicken or chicken fried steak. Can you tell I cook southern? Spookie what is "Berns"? I just don't get the chicken/waffles. Not something I could dig into. Separate yes, together no. Making hash brown potato soup for this "cold" weather. I guess American food would be quail, turkey, trying to think of a native vegie. Corn!!!

This last looks like fine reading for a damp chilly day. But the topics at the top look really interesting.
Nettie - so sad about little Yorkie boy. I've seen a couple of cute boys for adoption but I've always had females. No lifting of the leg. Mine just does not potty inside but throws up regularly. Nervous terrier. Hope little guy gets a good home. At least if you get the storms during the night might be less severe. Lots of damage straight line winds, a couple of maybe very weak tornadoes. Moved so quick so no flooding. I watered the back yard tonight. So true about pets. Little Terra had her teeth cleaned when she boarded over the weekend.
Sassy I live northwest of Ft Worth, Tang lives just a little NE of Dallas so we are on opposite sides of the metroplex.
Sassy - I worked for a sister hospital to Texas Health Presbyterian. Not ER but palliative care. I would think I would be running to the doc wild eyed - Doc I got one!! Yes I wondered about the ABT for a viral infection. Hmmm. Well and yes they basically have them under house arrest (my words not official). I think I read that one of the children went to school yesterday (Wed). I can't find it but I'm sure it was on local TV website. Read that amb. dispatch is questioning any callers with Ebola like symptoms for an extensive travel hx. Listened to conference call between CDC, local Presby doc and county judge. Have cleaning crew doing apt and they steam cleaned/"power washed" the sidewalk today. It's been mid 90's all week, doubt any virus survived long out in open. If you heard anything about a "2nd case" it was some twit teenager pulling a prank that now has him knee deep in you know what.

LOL Berns is a VERY expensive high class restaurant in Tampa. All the dignitaries, rich and famous eat there when in town.
I can't fry chicken worth a hoot. But talk to me about some home cured, 6 month or older ham, red eye gravy, scratch biscuits, um hum. My grandfather wouldn't cut a ham untill it was cured at least a year. I like most southern foods, except greens and bugs. I understand Southernese better than I speak it.

Yep, my FB feed is loaded with Ebola stuff. I follow the local CBS and ABC stations and it is non-stop ebola stuff. I think everyone is pissed and scared that the guy came into the country to begin with. With that said, he's here shows up at the ER and is turned away after the staff was told he was recently in Africa??There is a Presbyterian here in Rockwall close to where I live and that is where most of my surgeries and hospitalizations have been. I love the hospital, have had good experiences there....but I agree not sure how Presby will recover from this.
Nettie, I'm glad the dog found a home.
LVMG-The storm was fast and intense, but we didn't get any damage out here.

Good thing about Ebola- the odds of you contracting it are nil. Even if you are in the same room with someone that has it. There HAS TO BE bodily fluid contact. You have a higher chance of being hit by space debris than contracting it.
I can't fathom the logic- if you can't take care of a dog, how can you take care of a kid? If you give one dog away like this- you should never be allowed to have another. That kind of crap makes my blood boil.

on a more pleasant note: i sent the painting i did for FBB to her family, and her husband sent me a really nice thank you card. It was super sweet of him to take the time to do that. I hope they are all finding some comfort in knowing that she touched a lot of people in a positive way.

Just relaxing this morning and figuring out what I want to do today!

Okay.... Morning gals! Ha, ha Spookie.... YOU were busted! I didn't want to say anything, but your "Berns" explanation just didn't DO it....

LilGoats said it first.... I was going to wait, and see if anyone else noticed! Because I thought, well maybe she knows what she is talking about.... Ha!
You guys I didn't EAT that.... My breakfast was those HUGE bisquits topped with homemade gravy, and 2 eggs... But the plate was full.... And it came with fruit... and a sprig of Rosemary on top!
I love fried chicken, but I don't make it anymore... I used to soak it in Buttermilk for about an hour... Then roll it in flour, until it's all coated, and let THAT sit for about 15 minutes on waxed paper.... Then heat a big black cast-iron skillet with about 1/2 inch of oil or Crisco, until HOT, then lay the pieces in there, and cook until browned.... THEN carefully turn it over.... but only once... ONCE..... Not twice! Only turn it ONE TIME... Do not cover the skillet either.... My Grandma said.
OR another way is to flour the chicken pieces, fry it in "not so much oil" with sliced onions.... until it's all browned. THEN slowly cover it with water, and let simmer, turning occasionally, until it's all gravy-like and tender. You can add potato pieces the last 1/2 hour.... Or make your own mashed potatoes.
I'm so glad that dog has a home.... I can't stand people who don't think they want their dog! Or who don't take care of their pets! My DD just officially got "Tooter".... this sweet cat who adopted HER ! These moron neighbors have too many pets, and just lost their house, so asked Janie if she would keep him...
Well HELL, he has been staying at her house for the last year! She made him his own bed, outdoors, but now he has taken over her house, trying to pester her other cat... He is soooo sweet... We've all nearly fallen over him, because he is always around our feet!
Thanks Sass for offering... guess we all think alike.
Yes! Who is sick? Do I have to go back a page? Take Mucinex, or even those nasal-rinses? And ClaritinD... And drink lots of hot things! Don't cough... It hurts too much, and you can break a rib, if you wear an underwire bra! I did that.... I also like Nyquil.... it helps that cough, when nothing else will.
I love reading you guys! MOMOM... just don't do Nothin'! There! That's solved.

Chevy, you crack me up. Ok I've been awake for a couple hours, knew I'd find someone here. Some nights I can sleep through, but when I'm wide awake at 4 am, I may as well just get up. So me & my coffee and my sweet Rose, who is so beautiful after being groomed yesterday, she's sitting in the other recliner. (When I was dxed and we knew I'd need a comfy recliner for recovery and our den furniture was shot, DH fount this pit group, one end has a chaise and the other has a pair of recliners – electric! – and I sit in one and the other was supposed to be for DH but he mostly sprawls all over the chaise end and Rose sits in the other recliner.) I can't believe she still has bows on her ears, usually either she or her brother will have demolished them by now! I took this yesterday. I love my Rosie, dog of my heart. I'm not the best mom, especially when I'm sick, but if would never consider letting her go.

I have a 6 month check with my BS. I like how that sentence could be taken two ways. I think I found a new hobby. I'm going to try some custom framing. My sister takes beautiful photos and some are unusual sizes. I've made some furniture over the years bit want something smaller that i can do in the warmth of the house.

I am going to ignore what you said about Berns Google Berns Steakhouse.
I don't feel so great today.

Morning all!! We did get some terrible weather last night, it didn't do any damage that I've heard about, but boy was it noisy! Couldn't sleep through it and just when I'd like to be lurking around here, we had no internet service due to that nasty weather, so I just sat around bored until it past, then back to bed and now I'm a zombie because I didn't get enough sleep!I still wish I could take, what I consider to be, my "granddog"! Heck he was my first! But it's just impossible right now! I'm still heartsick about all of this! However, one detail that I have omitted until now is that the family that he is going to is actually related! We are not close, but we have contact through facebook and I think he will be OK, but I have made it VERY clear that if for some reason they find that they can not keep him, they are to let ME know and at that point, I'll make arrangements if I have to force my Son to take him back! I won't have him passed to another stranger, and if son would refuse, then DH and I will be add odds because he WILL come to me! This family has a little girl that had a Boston Terrier and he got sick, something that is common to this breed, and passed so they were trying to find another little dog for her but didn't want to go through the training if they didn't have to! They live on 17 acres and I think he will be fine, but it still hurts! The little girls dad is my 2nd cousin, but as kids, due to be close in age, we were raised more as cousins, but because of time and distance we haven't stayed in close contact! But thanks to facebook, we have been back in touch for several years! They live close enough that if I wanted, I could make a day and check out that he is ok, but I think that may confuse him! Just don't know yet! She has promised to send us updates and photos and if she doesn't, I will point blank ask! I'm like that!
Anyway, I'll try to make this my last post about this, I'm sure you all are probably tired of it by now!
Good luck Dutch!!
Spookie, love your little one!!! Heck, I love all pets! I can watch movies about people and never shed a tear, but let the movie be about any type of animal being abandoned, hurt or mistreated and I cry like a baby! Heck, I can't even watch Rudolph at Christmas without crying! I even cry during the 101 Dalmations! I'm such a sap!
Happy Friday!!

dutchris-speaking of hobbies, I've been wanting to "try" to pain/refinish furniture for a long time now. I have never done it, but want to try
The perfectionist in me says don't even bother because you're gonna screw it up, but I'm tired of listening to that. Anyway, just thought I'd share lol I have an old dining room table that was actually the same one that we had when I was growin up. It's solid wood and in decent shape. I better start with something smaller right?

spookie-sorry you aren't feeling good

chevy I LOVE fried chicken and that sounded sooo good!
I'm glad it is Friday. It's been a long week and I'm still trying to get the morning routine down of getting my 5 year old off to school. I'm walking her to school so that adds to the hecticness.
((hugs))

Thank you Nettie for the good luck.
Tang, share away. Restoring/refinishing furniture is not something I have the energy or patience to do. My first FIL did it so well. And yes, I would say start smaller
