Sassy, the green sherbet is definitely AH Block Optic. The teacup behind it in the earlier pic seems to be another rare one, looked through all the green depression glass pics and found only one, but the page it links to does not have the image. I'll keep looking though. Probably also AH.
Ah, there's so much more!

Badger those snow pictures were hilarious.
Oh yes, square thing is definitely candy dish but see no dimensions on seller's page. My GM had one and I have one though of course her's was antique - mine only 38 years old HaHa - wedding gift. Holds maybe 1.5 c of candy would have to be M&M's.
Mags you do have some lovely things. My mother gave me something she called a spooner. Heavy sucker. I've used it for a vase at times. Put away in my little dresser I bought last year. I had the hearth covered with stuff and just had to get it cleaned off.
Wanting a nap but off shortly to church dinner after brief grocery stop. TTYL.

Princess, my spoiled rotten new furbaby is having blast running around. She's still not sure of the dog, keeps hissing at him but that will stop in time.

LMG see my post not far back on Victorian spooners.Mags LOL
Are you hooked
It is great fun. What did you think of all the relishes. First I ever saw tapered ones. Totally logical to use as spoon rests. Would be great in the kitchen and very cool on a buffet for the spoons that can't stay in a dish. I always just use a small plate. The Victorians and until our generation were always big on relishes. Small dishes to the large ones with multiple sections. It caused me to read about celery growing. It's a very labor and resource needy vegetable/Fruit forget. Anyway lot's of work and huge water hog. A cooking essential for maripoux, potato salad, bread dressing, egg salad maybe. Doesn't get much respect today. Google it sometime LOL.
Here's an images link for Pickle Castors. I never knew what they were In 1998, I was cleaning out MY Mary's condo. Found the parts separately. Then searching for something else ran across one. HMMMM. I was using the base as a candle holder. and the jar for cotton balls. When they got together---nice. Either the tongs were lost or I have them some place. The tongs are very odd looking. Separated from the castor
I want to see if I can find the Kent collection BBL

Mags, I once bought a tall faceted jug with and ice sleeve. No clue what it was, so a search began. Finally hit what it was through what I Call a backdoor way to find something. It turned out to be a claret jug.. It came up as the award for the St. Andrews Golf thing in Scotland. At one something happened to the award. As a last minute substitute a claret jug was awarded. That's when I found out what my odd piece was a claret jug.
A claret jug in an earlier time was taken to the cellar by the servant and filled with wine from a cask. They started simple and over time became elaborate. The Kent Collection has put together some beautiful, timeless, irreplaceable jugs. They are works of art. If you go to the web page which I hope you do.

Sassy, yes, hooked all over again! I thought the same thing when my mom said she was giving me her grandma's spoon dish: a spoon rest for the kitchen. But no, she explained, her grandma kept it on the dining room table to hold spoons for coffee.

mags, Lol repurposed---------was useful the way she used it.. Doesn't matter the original. All things are that way. LOLThat's how traditions start
Hugs off to bed for the first time

Sas, Always wanted to know what those were for (the pickle jars).
Mommy, Is Princess your new cat? What does she look like? How old?

Mom of 2- hey! Photos please!!! New kitty in the family. Tell us all about her.
Holeinone- I totally get the downsizing.. I have too much stuff! My BIL sold a rental he had in like 48 hours. He paid 1800 to "stage it." Which I thought was crackers until I saw what they did. This was a small, crazy cute bungalow, updated kitchen, 1200sq ft, 2/1 CA market and he got 20K over asking in a bidding war! The web site for the little house was so beautifully done. I never thought staging was worth it until I heard that. I have no idea what your market is like or if that would be worth it in your state. good luck.
Night owls! We are drowning.. rained buckets and buckets all dang day! Some exits on I-5 were flooded and closed. The dang trucks go by and for a few seconds you can't see a thing! A river of water... stressful. We enjoyed an bird/wildlife fundraiser this afternoon.. so many lovely birds and art and sculpture.. fun! Thank goodness it was all inside. :-) !

I used to stage when I was active in real estate. Makes a huge difference! Houses are always easier to sell with furniture as long as they are super clean and staged the right way. Hard to live that way if you have to stay in the house but necessary if you need to sell a home or rent one.

Love this cause I'm always looking for scissors to open some pkg like this...

Mema, I saw a tool designed to open such packages. It looked really heavy duty and useful. Unfortunately it was in a package that would require the tool to open it. Too bad it wasn't a joke.

But here you can buy a loaf a bread with just a twist tie that closes the package! Lots of our products are really easy to open so why are some so darn hard? Like batteries, curling irons, any kind of toy requires a small ax to open! Tell me what I'm missing!0 -
I think (only supposing, mind you) that the smaller the item - and the more likely it is to be stolen - also the more likely it is to be in a rather large plastic in-$%^&-possible to open package.Hi ladies - I've been gone for awhile. We were off to warmer climates and doing some resting. Now we're back. It's rather dismal, cold and wet - but it's also nice to be home and in familiar surroundings. I've take on some contract work that is driving me CRAZY - and hubby is getting some chores taken care of. After living here for a year, we now have shades in the family room.... YAY!!!!! Now he is working out how to refashion a nook in the kitchen into a pantry. Double YAY!!!!!

Princess (new kitten) is only 9 weeks old, all black fuzzy fur with pretty green eyes. She is the sweetest thing in the world, she is already being spoiled by her daddy and mommy. Saturday night, she slept in the bed with her daddy and mommy and her dog brother Jackson. Last night we tried her in the bed that had been Charcoal's and put a little blanket in it and she slept there all night. I'll try to get a picture up here soon of my little girl.

Yes! And the bags of chips open in a flash, if you "pull them apart at the seams" ..... and then watch them explode all over the counter and surrounding counties. A nice "zipper" bag would be nice!
And then those bottles with tops that you have to push down then twist? Or caps on cans, that only budge with a screw-driver wielding woman, who can jam that thing under that top and send it flying into next Tuesday? Never to fit on top again?
Or cans that only slightly co-operate with a can opener, and skip and trying to convince the contents to come out of "slots" made with can opener!
Or what's this problem with Dear Husbands cutting open a plastic bag of frozen somethings from the BOTTOM? When all they had to do is open the top-end with a conveniently placed zipper? With directions? It's so we can run get the duck tape, and tape the bottom closed, and then start all over at the top, with that "zipper open".... to save for the NEXT usage.
Okay... my car officially died. NOW it is imperative that we get another one...! I just Thank DOG that we made it home yesterday! The clutch is no longer even NEAR working. It would be funny, thinking of how I looked trying to get it home.... But I wasn't laughing at the time.
I was holding on to that steering wheel for dear life, just KNOWING when that light changed, that all the cars in back of me would be blasting me with their air horns. The light changed.... I inch along... TRYING to push the car forward with my FACE against the windshield... my hands gripping the wheel... Leaning forward... TRYing to get it to move... It's moving...... slooooooooooooly... shift again..... (INTO WHAT GEAR I MIGHT ASK? I'VE GONE THROUGH ALL OF THEM! ) DH says give it more gas! (JUST STFU!)
Okay FINE! Rev that engine up in a smoke cloud! It's MOVING! Come oooooooon! Okay shift.... inch along... REV the DAMN thing UP! OKAY! I HAVE it up to 120,000 RPM's, and we are now almost (SHIFT AGAIN) making the speed limit! I was exhausted.... sweat pouring off my brow.... smoke coming up from the hood.... and the top of my head.
We made it home... barely. Crazy old woman! I didn't even have a drink! I just laughed, thankful that we made it home with us in the car...
Going tomorrow....hopefully coming home with another car!
AN AUTOMATIC! Damnit!

YAY FOR dead CARS!!!!!! About time!!!! Get what you want, don't settle for less

Ha, hah Spookers! YES! I WILL! You know all things happened for a "reason." 2 weeks ago, that rock truck, with rocks bouncing around EVERYwhere on the highway, gave my car a good hammering! I was honking like crazy! B-tard didn't even KNOW it!..... Chipped my windshield in 3 new places! But I "filled" the pits with super-glue.
And if I would have SOLD this car to someone online, the clutch would have gone out, and they would have been THOROUGHLY miffed! As I would have been, buying on online!
So going to a dealer for a used car sounds like it was meant to be.
I'm thinking of some sort of sporty little red car, like a Mitsubishi, Lamborghini, or maybe a Spider? Maybe a convertible Corvette?
