If only Marybe could fly away with us all...... We love her so much, and would keep her safe. "Knowing" someone just from these boards, and having "listened" to her, and admired her determination, makes us all stronger! I have learned so much from Marybe...Take care of her Barb.... xoxoxoxoxo

i wanted to just say what tremendous respect I have for marybe.. she's become such a close friend.. in october, when she was here, we talked about how we would "handle it " if something like this happenned..
i am so proud to say: she did not "slip into a coma" after talking to Tim, she requested to be placed in a light one, and avoid the pain/trauma the was to come, as her organ systems were shutting down.. Even at the last, she remains true to herself, and is comfortable, out of pain, and making her own decisions.. WHAT an example of a bright, shining person she is to me!!!

I decided to read this post today for some reason (I'm not on chemo for now). Something compelled me, strange to say. And now I read the most saddening news that Marybe is leaving us. Heavy heart for those of us she's leaving behind. I am glad to hear she's pain free.

Very saddened by this turn in Marybe's health. She has truly been an inspiration to many on these boards. What an angel to give such hope and inspiration to others. I pray that she is comfortable and free of pain. We all love you Marybe. Prayers go out to Tim and her Dad and all others who know and love Marybe.

I too am praying for Marybe and Tim. As barsco reminds us though let us not forget her father in her prayers. I can't imagine what her passing will do to him. I know she has tried to prepare for the possibility but we are never "really prepared" for the loss of a loved one.

Marybe is resting comfortably surrounded by family and friends under hospice care. I talked to Melissa a hour ago and she said Marybe was responding slightly by hand. As 3jays said above, this is her choice. Mel was up most of the night talking to her charge nurse and she is exhausted, hardly any rest as a lot of us. Dear Lord, please help our dearest sister to be lifted peacefully into your everlasting care. We love Marybe. OXO

I am so sad to read this. I have been off the board for a while and had no idea she was having trouble. I did not know marybe well, but had a nice message exchange with her a while back when she backed me up on some of the ridiculous board drama that is what ultimately led me to spend less time here. She is a lovely lady who seems to care about everyone. I love her enthusiasm and positivity. She never whines about her lot in life or attacks those more fortunate than her in this battle. Instead, she has made the wise choice to live life to the fullest and embrace everyone she encounters. She is a shining example of what this board should be.

What a beautiful lady! I've been keeping up with these posts and reading how many times she would reach out someone who needed encouragement. I recently got a brief pm as well. She really looked after everyone here. What a gift she has been to so many people. I only found this site a month ago and I'm glad I did not miss the chance to know her just a little. I keep thinking about the trip she was so looking forward too and it makes me sad and angry that she will miss it. But there is no doubt where she is going and will be the most beautiful trip ever. I'm glad the light coma was her choice and pray she is comfortable and at peace. It's true--no one is ever really ready to lose a love one. Prayers for strength go out to her friends and family. Fly safe home, Marybe.

I too haven't been on the boards in months. But Marybe and I emailed a few weeks ago. She wanted to talk movies. She'd seen "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel" and she was going for a second time. We talked about movies and travel. She was planning a trip to Europe.
Perhaps that's what we should learn from Marybe: do the things we want to do, make plans, have fun, bake, bake, bake. Enjoy life, that's what it's for. She is a shining example.
But right now, I'm like all of you, so sad.

So much like Marybe to choose to go into self induced coma - don't know much about what happens when the body organs start to shut down; apparently she did. I just know that Marybe touch many of our lives but not only our lives, our hearts. She is a part of us, part of our family. My heart is just heavy.
Prayers for Marybe and prayers for Tim and her family as they wait with her.

Perhaps I am in denial, but I just can't count Marybe out yet. I've been witness to a rather miraculous turnaround, firsthand, so that is the scenario that I am hanging onto for her also. I absolutely hate the idea that it's the Red Devil trying to do her in. I know she will have her grace, whatever the situation; and if admiration and love were enough to pull someone through, we wouldn't even be worried for her now.
She may never get to read all the posts to her and about her, but if she does get to then I just have to say, There are lots more frosting bowls to lick, Marybe, so you better stick around.
