Ossa, great news - you will LOVE being a grandma. Hi Gumshoe, nice to 'see' you.
I don't post much but do try to keep up with all the stories, and continue to be inspired by the warmth, caring, intelligence, and strength I see demonstrated here.
Just want to send out warm fuzzies to everyone going through treatment and recovery.

Congrats, Ossa! How exciting for you and your family.

Hi everybody,
I've posted here before, but more of a lurker here than a poster. Have to congratulate Ossa on becoming a grandma though, and such a nice way to break the 'news'. Exciting indeed! I've been considering buying some soft, pastel coloured wool, and start knitting a baby blanket. Will be a huge effort for me, because I haven't knitted in many years, but maybe my kids will get the message? LOL!

Hi akmom, so nice to "see" you too! Glad you're still reading -- I try to, but I'm mainly sticking to this thread. I still get behind.
Hi liefie!
Everyone: Just a thought: someone a page or so back mentioned not wanting to post here because seeing Suz makes them sad. I sort of feel the same way. Should we start a new "British Columbia" thread, or does seeing Suz here help other people?

I don't say much on here, but I check in and read often. I feel like I know a lot of you. Sor I feel pretty qualified to say that that is one LUCKY baby Ossa!!! Congratulations.

Hi all thank you. I am so exited but it's a long time until I get to hold this precious baby Can't wait until s/he is born. Don't care if it is a boy or girl. Just want him/her to be healthy
Marian... sound like May 11 is a no go.. to many ladies on rads maybe we should try for sometime in June??
I have signed up for relaxation yoga, starting on Friday
Welcome LoriW, you have come to a great plae.. sorry you have to be here..

Luncheon - How about the weekend of June 1/2? I'm not even 100% certain it would work for me as I'd have to arrange childcare, but how many of you think you could make it then? From what I can tell now, all weekends that month, except June 22/23, probably can work for me.
LoriW - Welcome! Any chance you SUP on Lake Kalamalka? My friend runs a SUP shop across the street from the beach... pretty sure they're having a demo party on Saturday (i.e., try it out for free), if you're at all into that thing.
Ossa - Namaste

June 1 looks OK but bus June 2. Ossa as I said a couple of days ago but have to say again, it is so exciting for you and something really exciting to look forward to after these past two years!
Sneaky, I had my "interview" for the mindfulness course yesterday so all set to go next week. What about you? Still no call from rads which is odd; CT a week ago yesterday.

Thank you all for the warm welcome! I'm so thankful I came across this thread!
Anyone experiencing vaginal atrophy! I was using vagifem prior to being diagnosed, I see the Oncologist at the end of May.
Sneakychiquita SUP is the greatest! I know the place very well ! Our daughters buddy is somehow involved as well, or maybe we know the person!0 -
Marianeliz. Is that the mindfull course run by BCCA? I took it once for something like 6-8 weeks once a week. in Van.. It was good and I often think about it. The walking meditation is good for me. It taught me how to stop and smell the roses so to speak. Now when I am in the garden I often just wander down the path and stare at the plants and it is wonderfully restorative.

hugs4u, yes it is at BCCA and I am so glad I got in and the timing I think is good for me. Rads starting but I think I can manage it. Also my husband leaves for Turkey June 17 and will be gone for many months sailing our boat across the Med and the Atlantic and this will still be in session and I think will give me a good focus. I do hope to parachute into a place our boat will be at at some point but the Med is summer is brutally hot and not a plan for post rads!
Back to Mindfulness though, I get what you are saing about stopping to "smell the roses." I am off to yoga in a few minutes and it is so good for me too.
Ossa, also glad to hear you are starting a Friday yoga class~~I hope you like it as much as I do.

Marian - that sounds like a great program at BCCA - but sounds like it is hard to get into it. Maybe I should put my name on the waiting list. Glad you are feeling somewhat better these days. You should be getting the call soon about your rads starting.
Ossa - you will love being a Grandma - I just had my 2nd grandchild 6 days ago. It brings back such happy memories of when my own were babies and how much I cherished those days and those little ones.
I am away early June, so won't be able to meet up with you all. But definitely want to do that one day!!
Have a great day.

Adagio, yes Sneaky and I both went on the waitlist in January. The max is 16 so you should call and ask to be put on the list if you are interested. I am feeling better and rads start Tuesday the same day as Mindfulness so it will be a full day. S. Africa early June?

Marian - I am going to South Africa in September - in June I am going over to Victoria for a few days - my husband has a conference there, so thought I'd join him since it is closeby, and I do like my little getaways!
If you put your name down in January for the mindfulness - that's quite a long wait list!! Must be a popular course. So your rads finally start on Tuesday - the time will go fast - remember to moisturize, moisturize, moisturize and drink lots of water and up the protein in your diet. I used Lubriderm 2-3 times a day, and then when it started getting pink, I used a cream called "Seven" (I bought it at Finlandia). I also used Kukui Nut Oil after my shower to give the breast extra moisture. Rads are so much easier than chemo and I hope and pray that your skin holds up.

Adagio, you will love South Africa. I was born there, and lived there for 45 years before emigrating to Canada. Will be going there in November when youngest DS will be marrying his childhood sweetheart.
Marian, hope rads go well for you. For me it was the easiest of the treatments, and I wish the same for you.
Good night everybody, It is very late, and time for bed.

Hi everyone! yeppers .. it's me Cher.. long long time! I'm sorry I wasn't here for so long. I was in a dark depression! and was even getting bigger and had more pain than ever. Just felt I had nothing positive to contribute. my chemo ended on Dec 13/12 and left me in a mess I guess...well, for some of you.. you know the long lousy story. but that's a thing of the past.. truly I thought I would never feel normal again!! Wrong again Cher!! lol
Beginning of April I started taking a all natural product, had approval from Onc & GP after a few weeks on this product my depression was completely GONE, and to my shock, all my RA/OA/FM/IBS/ITC pain was also gone! Nothing has ever worked!! NOW I've gotten rid of 29" and 13lbs. wooohooo eh?? I'm also back working at one of my passions.. caregiving (same company as 07-09 they've been keeping tabs on me thru Facebook and decided I was ready to come back..lol.. i'm not working with the at risk/high risk youth (my choice) but with Adults w/disabilities. I just love it!! But it was truly this product that increased my health & took away the depression that I was able to move forward!! I had been perty bad off.
I've been running a Weight loss / Healthy Life Changes support group via Facebook and would love for you to come join and get all your inputs also!! it's all about healthy recipes, motivation, inspiration, fun and tons of info /tips. I'm meeting the most awesome people.. but the true wonders and beautiful people are all here.. so I've come to get'ch's!! lol
I dont know how to upload a photo on here argh.I tried, but to no avail! My hair is amazing.. very grey and VERY curly!! hilarious! now I resemble the other side of my family hehe.
so come find me on FB athttps://www.facebook.com/CherSout?ref=tn_tnmn and the group's name is Works in Progress.. as we are ALL a work in progress and it's about progress NOT perfection!! www.facebook.com/groups/WORKSI...
I'm busier than ever, sleeping better (feels rested) in over 20+ yrs due to CFS/FM..I've got a whole new lease on life finally. I'm forever indebted to all in these forums.... you were all there for me, and I will work harder at being back here to lend support also!!
Loads of love
Cher
