Erica, that's interesting, I would never have thought they would release something new, here before the US. The rep did call me a few days before, to say she wasn't sure she could get mine for the fitting day, because the freight was held up on arrival, at customs, but she came through and had one in my size!

I wore it for the whole day yesterday in a Valletta Camisole. It was very comfortable and it does feel softer than my others, in the hugable way! The drape is perfect, even though it is a 3s, which I have never had before. The difference in the "skin" is quite amazing too, it feels really soft and smooth. So far so good. Today I will try it in the Marlena bra for the day and let you know how that goes.

I also meant to mention, there seems to be a new "Energy" too, it has the same knobbly backing, as the old Energy, but it is in the triangle shape this time and it has added ridges between the knobbly back for better air flow. It also has the very soft skin and soft center, like the one I got. They remind me of a smooshy center dessert! LOL

Good luck with it, I hope you like it too!

Ariom - I am really happy to hear your review on the Natura Cosmetic because I had been reading about it recently and thought it sounded worth looking at. Thanks for taking the time to let us know.

Erica - I think I vaguely remember you mentioning once you had been to a Lady Grace store before. I had been searching online to see if metromedical had the Natura Cosmetic available for sale. They did not, but I see it offered a couple of other places, including the Lady Grace site.I know you said you're up for an insurance purchase this time around, so you're probably buying in person for try-on purposes. But maybe Lady Grace has it in their bricks and mortar store.

Good luck. I'll be trying to find this form locally myself. Thanks!

That's great info Ariom! Do you think that the Amoena 321 natura cosmetic would replace your weighted leisure form? Is is silicon with tiny holes in it or is it weighted foam? Is is triangle shaped or teardrop?

I might like that type of material for new leisure forms this year. I'm wondering how the material compares with my custom silicon forms which are the same weight as the weighted leisure form and very soft feeling. I believe Erica mentioned that the custom material is really the same as the Trulife Impressions II. Are the Trulife Impressions II like the Amoena 321 natura cosmetic or are they a different animal?

    Best,

Moissy and Bettyboops, sorry I can't get the link to work, but if you go to the Amoena website, you should be able to get the information and the video.

This is a really nice change to the other silicone forms I am used to, but for me, there will always be a place, for my Tru LIfe 611, I love that foam form!

The Amoena Cosmetic is, I believe, a whipped foam, I don't really notice it being much lighter than the usual silicone forms, just much softer and with a nicer drape and a lovely feel to the skin cover. It does have the "Comfort Plus" which is that clear gel back to help to transfer the heat, which goes all the way to the edge of the form. I believe that gel was originally designed, for astronauts in space.

I am wearing the Amoena Natura Cosmetic, in a bra today and it feels good, no slipping around and it is soft. I just ran into a BC support group, GF of mine, literally, LOL Sho is a Uni on the other side and was at the same fitting day. Today she is wearing her new form, too. LOL We gave each other a big hug and "bounced" our opposite side, forms and "copped a feel" of each other's, new form! Very funny!

I don't know the True Life Impressions form, but I am sure Erica will give a comparison, after she has seen the new Amoena Natura Cosmetic.

Oh my word, Ariom! I nearly lost it laughing at your description of meeting your friend. I wish I could be rolling on the floor laughing beside you. I keep myself from hugging people too closely because of being self-conscious about my uni form so this has my interest. I would love to have been a part of your "hands-on" experiment.

So now I will be determined to try one out as soon as I can. Thanks for the chuckle!

Hahaha! You're so welcome Moissy! I'd happily bump chests with you, if we met! LOL

I help to run and organize a BC support group in our small town. We had 10 members when I started going to the meetings 2 years ago.We now have 23 members, which is pretty amazing, in a town of about 2000 people and they are just the ones who can make it, to a weekday meeting.

I have spoken at quite a number of fundraisers, to get the word out about our group, which has all ages and stages, of women with BC. Our town is very switched on, to raising funds. Every time I have spoken, at one of these events, I have had at least one woman, usually more, waiting afterward, to talk to me. It is heartbreaking to hear, that they have never spoken to anyone about what they have been through and have been too scared, to go to a support meeting, mainly because, they think we sit around, maudlin, and talking about BC.

Nothing could be further from the truth, the only time BC comes up, is if we have someone specifically asking for information, or we have a newbie who wants to discuss their Dx or ask about surgery etc. We have all kinds of speakers, occasionally, BC related, or we go on outings, or to the movies. Some of the funniest meetings we have had, are when someone new, asks about forms and the thump, thump .thumpety thump of a dozen prosthesis hitting the table, brings everyone to tears, of laughter. We have all overcome any self consciousness, through humor.

Moissy, give the Amoena Natura Cosmetic a try, but also try the Tru Life 611 weighted foam, if you get a chance. I find they both feel very natural, when it comes to the "Hug' test! LOL

    Bettyboops,

The Radiant Impressions and the Trulife non-custom version are very different in feel from the Amoena forms I've tried -- I believe the Amoena forms have a smooth polyurethane "skin" that holds the whipped silicone in place, and the gel in back of the Natura forms is very soft and pliable. The silicone in the Impressions forms that I've tried (I haven't tried the newest non-custom form yet) do not slide easily. I'm having a hard time thinking of the right word to describe them, almost "sticky." Not in a bad way, and they are soft, but the texture just feels very different from the Amoena form. ABC forms feel somewhat like Amoena forms to me -- perhaps the way they process the silicone is similar. The Anita forms are different from the others -- very soft, but with out a "skin," I believe. These are just my observations, not based on talking to anyone at the companies.

    Moissy,

Thanks for the info about Lady Grace. Usually if it's on their website, it's available at their stores, or at least they could order it. I'm in Miami now but when I return to the Boston area in about a month, I'll give them a call and hopefully have a chance to try it. I'd also like to try the newest Trulife Impressions form, if they have that.

    Ariom,

Thanks for alerting me about the new energy form! I have a pair of the original ones, which are much less soft than other Amoena forms, though still nice. I'll have to check the new one out! Lately, I've been enjoying wearing my Silique Comfort-Lite forms in an ABC bra (style 114). The Silique forms were sold for a while as Airway, but I haven't seen them under that name lately. However, they're still available at the TLC catalog as Comfort-Lite forms. Very comfy and so lightweight.

Erica, thank you for that, since reading about them, I have tried to chase down the Silque forms all over the world, but haven't been able to source one, by that name. I even tried to find the company that manufactured it, but I was told it is discontinued. I will try to find it as Comfort Lite now.

The New Energy is definitely worth a look. I have one of the old style too, but haven't worn it very often. The improved nodules and the channels may be just what you need for the heat issues you sometimes feel. The rep told me they will sell well in Northern Queensland which is our hottest and most humid state.

Ariom, if you click on the link for Comfort-Lite, it will take you to the product page on TLC, which is the American Cancer Society catalog of mastectomy products. It still seems available there. I've also tried to find out what's happening with the company. Their website is still up, but almost nowhere seems to sell their products.

Thanks for that Erica. Someone told me they were bought out by one of the other companies, but I can't recall which one it was supposed to be. I have no idea if that is true.

    Hi Ladies,

I just received 2 valetta tops form metromedical and the cups were disfigured beyond belief! I think another gal mentioned that here too. I figured out what happened was that who ever packed them folded them right through the middle of the cups and jammed them in the box. I called metro customer service and they were sooo nice. The woman actually went and talked to the stock folks to make sure that the shirts weren't defective in the first place. Long story short, They are sending me a shipping label to return them for smooth cups! Yay to metromedical on-line. They continue to have great customer service! I thought I'd pass that on for future reference in case anyone runs into the same problem.

That's great to know Bettyboops, I have never had to contact customer service there, other than one time I wrote to tell them how great I thought the service and the prices were. I have all my items sent to a US address where they repackage and send my purchases about once a month. I never received an answer, but I have bought a huge amount from that site, with no issues at all and always great prices.

Thanks Ariom. I didn't know you needed an address in the US to buy on-line or is it cheaper for you to ship in bulk. In any case, sounds like a good plan! I wish I was in the warm weather right now in Australia! I'm looking at about 3-4 feet of snow out my windows...Get me outta here!! I don't want to live in a freezer!

Hi Bettyboops, there are a lot of businesses in the US who won't accept credit card payments from overseas and a lot who either don't post to Australia or charge like a wounded bull to send things. I have an address through a company called MyUs who bundle my purchases together and post all at once for a better rate, than single items. The US has always had far cheaper prices than Australia, so even with postage it is better for me to purchase from there. I would like to keep the money in Australia, but the price differences are just too much. For instance a Valletta camisole here is $88.00 and a silicone breast form is around $450.00.

The weather here today is sensational, I just posted this picture, which I took yesterday, on another thread for my friends who are shoveling snow from their porches. I hope it makes you smile! The ripples on the water on the right side are from the Dolphins, but every time I took a pic they would go under the water.

When my valettas were smoothed they rounded out wearing them with genie modesty shield. I removed shields to launder tops and they came out fine.

I've bought my Vallettas at different places and some had the very wrinkled cups that you are describing. So I know what you mean. When I actually put them on they looked great, so I just kept them. Wrinkling decreased a little after laundering although never went away entirely.

    Oh Ariom,

Dolphins, blue water, green grass!! Wonderful - like heaven! I love 'ya Ariom but I'm green with envy right now! ha ha.Wish I could just "beam over" there.

Moisy and Chloesmom, thanks for weighing in about the Valettas. Since I really want them for summer, I'm going through the trouble of returning them since it's not costing extra, just a trip to the post office - if I can get there!! I bought another type of tank top too at TLC. I'll report back and let everyone know if I got a good buy.

Glad you can get the Vallettas sorted out, I will look forward to hearing about the other tank you've bought too.

BettyBoops, you probably got the Valetta's I returned, they were simply unwearable. Now I realize I should have called the company rather than just sending them back. It makes me nervous to try again. But I did love the Valetta fabric!

    hi crystal,

I wouldn't be afraid to order. Just put a comment that you want the cups filled with tissue for shipping and they should not fold the shirts through the cups. I did just that today when I ordered a couple of Valetta t shirts on sale. you would think that would be a no brainier for the shipping department. I'm still waiting for the replacemen from Metromedical.

Oh Betty, What a wonderful idea! Such an easy solution...thank you!! let us know how the replacement is.

Mine (from metromedical) was so wrinkled the form didn't even push out the wrinkles, it was pretty rough. So I returned it.

    Hi Crystal and ladies,

So I got my Valetta and an Amoena shirt from Metromedical and they did not fold through the middle of the cups. The Valetta was folded so the cups were not involved in the fold. The t-shirt they folded it so only the edge of the cups were involved with the fold. Duh!!! Oh well, this fold doesn't show hardly because of the location but it wasn't necessary to fold through the cups at all. At least the expensive Valetta was perfect...

Just thought I would mention that I haven't had any problems with my Amoena items being folded incorrectly from Metromedical, so hopefully it is just a glitch that won't happen again. All my items go to a central address and then they are shipped together to Australia. Fortunately, for me, no problems.

My foob and bra store has swimsuits in season. Last year I ordered a mx top from Lands End to go with the shorts I finally found here. It fit as expected and wears well. You can return them if they don't fit.

    Hi Ladies,

I have posted this in a few threads to raise awareness of this petition, as I think it's an important cause to all of us. But response has been slow and has basically stalled. I am wondering if many people are not seeing it, so I am now posting it in some of the active threads. I hope you don't mind me doing this. If so, I will delete it.

Some of you might be familiar with Ann Silberman's great blog "Breast cancer...but doctor I hate pink", which has chronicled her journey from diagnosis to metastasis. I know many of us share her concern that Pinktober madness does not necessarily help towards BC research for a cure. She has started a change.org petition requesting that more fundraising dollars be allocated to finding a cure rather than just raising awareness. I am posting the link here, hoping that we all can support this cause, by signing the petition and sharing on social media.
