Mel,, I don't know where that rap line is originally from,, but it is in this new animated movie. I've seen the trailer on TV several times. A young girl is looking for her mom and hooks up with the space alien who doesn't understand much of Earth's ways,, like dancing.  It looks like a cute movie. The alien is voiced by theguy who plays Sheldon on the Big Bang Theory.   **put your hands in the air like you just don't care**

Wow, Chloesmom,,,, $8000 !   Well, better they pay for Neulasta than the bras! Holy Moley! Excellent plan on opening up those Aquaflows, glad that they fit better now.

Trying to remember how my insurance paid for my foobs,, but that was 2 years ago. I could get another one now and give it away,, since I wear compression now and rarely wear my foob.  Would that be a way of sticking it to the insurance company in a teeny tiny way?

    Hi Amy Q,

Glad you're on the other side! Hope your recovery goes well and quickly and that you continue to be glad about your "flat" choice.

Cholesmom - very clever to make that change to the Aquaflows - glad they are fitting better now.

Glennie - Oh, yeah! I remember seeing that trailer with the dancing alien! I'll bet that is what made it pop into my mind. I saw it when my daughter and I went to the movies last month. It does look like it will be a cute one, but I can't remember the name of it either. Funny about the foob giveaway...that would definitely stick it to insurance!!

The Valettas in size 14 fit very nicely (I'm returning the 12s).  I like them so much, I bought more colors (so now I have black, white, red, jade and orchid).  I just hope they look as good after surgery!  I bought their t-shirts as well (finally got something on sale!).  I also bought a few zip up blazers that I found on sale at Macy's which came and fit great, so I'm feeling a bit more confident now.  I was afraid I would be going back to work before my fitting, and being that it will be June, I was a little nervous how my clothes are going to fit me.  I have some fiber filled forms that came in a post-surgical camisole (and a pair of chicken fillets), so I hope I'll be able to rig something up!

Chloesmom - thanks for the tip on the Valletta's! I just bought the pink and orchid colors...originally had the jade on there, too, but decided I'd try these first in the 12's and see how they fit before I got the other color. I also got the Marlena bra in chocolate for $9. I have that in two other colors and really like it.

Question for the ladies who wear a blouson swimsuit top without breast forms...this is the description of one I am looking at:

"Style 2081, is a full-cut blouson top with soft cups and built-in soft pockets to hold your breast form comfortably and securely in place while you enjoy a day of exercise or leisure."

Can you wear that as-is without forms, or are the soft cups too puffy? I was thinking there was no foam or cups in it and it would only have pockets so I could wear it without anything, but now I am not sure.

    Thanks!

    Hi AmyQ!

So glad to hear that you reached the "other side!" You must feel so good to have surgery behind you. You will feel better and better every day in every way! Keep up posted. How many weeks ago was your surgery and what exactly was done? When I had my implants out, I felt pretty good about 4 weeks after and actually went to a fitter super early because I was so anxious! I was supposed to wait 6 weeks. This is a great time of year to be hon the mend - the warm weather is so healing. Congratulations!

    Mel147,

I wear a Lands End mastectomy bathing suit without forms. I'm only a B cup so it all works fine. I think you might have to buy a particular suit and then decide if you need swim forms. I never bother with swim forms but I do wear prosthesis just about every day either in a cami or in a bra.

    Best,

Thanks, Bettyboops. I'm hoping to get away with not using the swim forms, especially since I don't have any!

    Hi Bettyboops

My surgery was April 9th so not even 2 weeks yet but there is a huge sense of relief. My PS removed the silicone implants, removed some extra skin and lypo'd a fatty spot under my arm. I even have a normal looking under arm again, one that I can shave. It was such a hollow cave before and now it's practically smooth. I even think my LE has lessened. I am wearing compression cami's with a small light padding inserted into the pocket when I want some shape, but Im also comfortable wearing nothing at all. Thanks so much for checking in.

    Hi Amy,

Hope you're continuing to heal well. I was interested to read that you had some lipo done on your underarm area. I'm going to be having scar revision surgery in early May with some fat grafting to try to even out some of the concave areas. I have developed a fatty area near my armpit that my PS is planning to lipo. I'm just concerned about doing anything in that area that could disrupt the lymph vessels and put me at greater risk for LE (had 4 nodes removed at SNB in January). My PS doesn't seem concerned, but I'm still not convinced even though I desperately want to have those fatty areas removed. Did your PS mention anything about disrupting lymph vessels in that area?

    Hi fralaliso,

I've had lypo under both arms at different times over the past two years, all in conjunction with reconstruction. I have Truncal and r arm LE and I have not seen any worsening of symptoms. As I mentioned, I had left side lypo and did not develope LE on that side. Not to say there aren't any concerns, but for me LE has not been effected.

Neither of of my plastic surgeons ever mentioned LE as a concern. Good luck to you.

Interesting website for free knitted breast forms. Don't know how well they would work, but kudos to the people who are making and sending them out for FREE

nwest125 - Did you get the one that is called the Living Blouson Tankini Top? I think it is really cute but was concerned that I can't tell if there is any way to adjust the straps that cross in the back. I am kind of afraid to get it and have it not fit right because of that. If that's the one you have, can you please let me know what the straps are like? Thanks! Also...on a side note, I see you are from Mooresville, IN...I live in Mooresville, NC! Sometimes when I am in a rush and googling the public library I have accidentally clicked on the IN link. What a small world!

I am new to this group, had my BMX no recon 2 weeks ago. Feeling almost like my old self again! This may have already been posted, since I have not been through the 50 pages of info...but the $5+ Walmart "No Boundaries" cami/tank is awesome for me! It has a light removeable cup in there already, looks about like an A cup when I wear it. Super comfy and cheap. Just enough under a tshirt to help with my self-confidence. They come in a variety of colors to layer looks, etc.

Thanks for the tip, dtorrent.  I've seen your progress on the April surgery sisters as I'm following in your footsteps (my surgery is May 1).  Glad to see your recuperation has gone so well!

Thanks for the tip on the tanks. I bought one of the $5.98 bras that are all stretch and it is comfortable and seems as sturdy as some of the higher priced ones. It's sturdy enough for my silicone foob.

Does anyone know about the TLC bras fit? I'm a 34A but have a long torso. I found one online but want to know how much the straps lengthen. Is the TLC return policy good?

nwest125 - that's great about the swimsuit! I'm glad you are so happy with it! How funny the same thing has happened to you with our towns having the same name!

I did buy two of the Valletta camis and, unfortunately, I have to return them. Even though I was able to adjust the straps, it does not come up high enough on me to cover the indented areas from my surgery. My right side is worse and it just doesn't look good. Oh, well...quality and feel wise they are soooo soft, but they just don't work. I also had a little trouble filling out the pocket all the way...I have size 6 breast forms and I bought a size 12 cami and it didn't fill it out all the way.

Mel sorry you couldn't pull the Valettas up high enough :(. They made a different one also by Amoena that looks like a tank top with lace across the neckline that comes up higher. Can't remember the name I don't know if they still have it but it might work if you can find one. I got one on ebay a while back

I wear a 12 and a size 4 form, but I don't use the forms in them. Instead I put in a Genie bra modesty shield to keep the shape smooth and then use the fiberfill poofs that came with my post surgical cami to fill in the back. Keeps the whole thing soft and light. Got the pink and aqua and now wish I got the violet when they were on saleas they are so pretty.

the cami I was describing is the Amoena Talia. It isn't on the amoena website and when I tried to order from metromedical they were out of stock. It is listed in their "sale" section but I don't know what sizes are left. It's also listed by some smaller fitting stores online when I googled it. It's a shame as I like it under my V. Neck tops.

Thanks, Cholesmom! Yes, I was bummed, too, but it was still fun getting them and trying them on. I'm learning what to look for and what works and doesn't work, so I know that will help me moving forward. I will have to look up the Amoena Talia!
