thanks to all who are posting these great years of Stage IV survivors. I was diagnosed Stage 4 in 2011 and never thought I would see five years. My daughter was 9 months at the time and now she is 4! My son is going to be 7! These stories are very inspiring!!!!! Thanks!!!!

My cancer type was very mild and very treatable. I was given the option of the large lumpectomy. This was a shock to me at 37. The tumor type can come back worse if there is a reoccurrence. This is why I chose the lumpectomy. There has been no reoccurrence. I have gone through at least four MRI's and each one has shown that things are fine. My last mammogram also was good. It was a journey to come through the large physical change at a young age. My situation is much milder than some others, but I am a survivor.0 -

Hi Cheryl, Collie and Sige
As a relatively newbie (was diagnosed in April this year) reading your stories are truly inspirational. I am feeling pretty much terrified at the moment. Have you done anything different in terms of diet and exercise since treatment has finished?

My five years came in September. Yeh, no more medicine. Continue to enjoy my family, friends, and life.

I have read all 620 posts...and I thank each and everyone of you for taking the time to post your encouraging words. I am a newbie (lump on 9/25/14) and I am on the emotional roller coaster ride of my life. Just had my cancer removed and I am already worrying about when it will come back. After surgery I was told clear margins and no node involvement, but my post-op is this Tuesday and I'm afraid there will be some surprise from the path report.
It amazes me what all of you have been through and how positive you sound...again I thank you so much taking the time to encourage all of us who are just starting this crazy, scary journey.
xoxo

Had my follow-up today....and no surprises. Such a relief. I will begin internal radiation in 2-3 weeks. I shall sleep well tonight....last night was a bit restless.
Thanks songbird68 for your kind words.

Hi Sanaillady
That is wonderful to hear. Gives us terrified newbies (was diagnosed 6 months ago - just finished chemo) hope for the future. If you don't mind me asking, was your BC hormone positive?
Thanks
