dlb, I just posted out a whole reply and lost it :(. Anyways, docs are making an educated guess after looking closely at an MRI w contrast that it's a tumor. I saw it too and it looks funny. The bone doesn't look normal. And it feels in my gut like a tumor, a pain that is unusual. A Neurologist also showed me 2 shaded areas of 2 verterbrae that look to me more mets and I feel a sensitivity/mild pain in those areas. Guess what? Being made to wait the whole damn weekend so the onc can take her sweet time looking at my PET to drop the shitty news. Well at least that's the way I feel. Hope she has a good weekend. Can you tell I'm angry?

Arrrgh!!!! That's really crappy that you have to wait for your results, cjanet. Sorry. Hopefully, you'll get good news on Monday! But I feel your frustration!

Terre, I bet your kitty will still turn up. Keep the faith. Have you put up posters and all that kind of stuff?

Thanks, Deanna. We have posters up, have done a letterbox drop of fliers, alerted vets and SPCAs in the area, and put up ads on "pets on the net" which is a nationwide site for lost and found kitties. We're keeping the faith.

We do have some foster babies which is helping lift my spirits a bit. Here's a short video of them. https://youtu.be/AHvlq5Ei4x8

Freebird, sorry for barging in. I'm so sorry for all you're going through. I wonder if someone has let you down in your care. Problems with chemo are one thing. Problems with chemo and a colostomy is quite something else. Has anyone at the hospital explained the special ostomy care required during chemo? I can't help but think your fevers and abdominal pain are connected. Please know I'm not trying to be condescending and by any means imply that you're not capable of caring for your ostomy, but there are several protocols that have to be followed when having chemo with an ostomy. We all know that doctors aren't always the best at pointing out all the problems with our treatments. I wonder if someone hasn't overlooked this. Again, apologies....I've seen patients not being informed one too many times. I feel so bad for you and just wanted to make sure someone has talked to you about it. I sure hope you feel better soon. Hugs.

Carla - so sorry to hear you're going through this. Sending prayers, hugs, and good thoughts your way.

Leggo - I can't speak for Carla, but I appreciate your advice. I don't have a colostomy, but good to know just in case the day comes.

Carla, I'm giving you all the strength I can spare.... I am hoping you can get this behind you & get back to your 5th wheel that you love! Have you asked palliative care about getting a medic alert necklace in case something does happen while you're alone? I don't know much about them but would think it may give some peace of mind. Hugs & know we're thinking of you, cheers, Dee

Carla, I am so sorry to hear you are having such a horrific time. I don't know how how old you are, but have you considered assisted living arrangements for a short while until all this crap straightens out? My mother, who I am sure is quite a bit older than you, is in a beautiful assisted living facility. It is both assisted and independent. She has a terrific one bedroom apartment, and it has been a G-d send! She is taken care of, food, laundry, cleaning, doctor's appts. Etc 24/7. She is checked on several times a day and night and believe it or not, there are younger people, 50s, 60s, who are living there who just need an extra level of care.

I can not imagine how frightening it must be to be going thru this alone, especially at night. All those rotten demons come out in the dark.

Please take this advice as it was intended with love and caring, just in the short term until all gets better and you can return to some semblance of your life. Myra.

Carla, I'm so sorry you are feeling so crappy and that your life seems so out of your control. I agree it would seem helpful to see if you can get a little more help at home, but it also sounds like you need a bit more than that in the short term. It would scare me to go into assisted living, but maybe your quality of life would improve if you had more attention paid to you right now. In any event, I, too send you hugs and healing energy to get you through this rough time. I know it's hard to stay strong, but hang in there. You can do this.

Carla - please don't let what I'm going to type freak you out. Here in NZ, the hospices have respite care. It's not going into hospice to die; it's going in for a few days to get some rest and care. When I first heard it, it nearly did my head in, but now I'm kind of used to the idea and have seen people here check themselves in and out when they just need a bit of extra care.

    Sending hugs,

    Terre

    Hello to all,

This thread has been quiet. Just popping in to check on how everyone is doing?

Carla, I hope you were able to find some help in dealing with your situation. Thinking of you always and sending you hugs.

Terre, any luck with your missing kitty? I know how hard it must be for you and I pray he/she returns.

    Hugs to all, Annie

    Me too.  How is everybody?

I'm renewing my mortgage today for 5 years (ambitious?).

The sun is here this morning - at last!  The summer doesn't want to kick in around here.

My pain is well controlled.  At my entourage's suggestion, I lowered the dose this week end.   Not a good idea - so went back on the higher dosage and feeling good.  I should not let myself be influenced by others but at least I know these meds are necessary for my QOL.

My last TMs were higher.  Will see what the trend will be.  I have some new pain - keeping my fingers crossed.  I'm seeing my Onc on Monday.

I have good news. I had a PET scan last week and got my results yesterday. They show that there is no progression on the bone mets and that I am stable.

I'll take that. I hope it means that the exemestane is working well. Yay!

And...14 days until Ileave for the cruise !
