Babs, glad you're okay with the rib pain until Monday. Hopefully, it is just some kind of muscle pull.
Lynne, glad your hubby was able to sail through what sounded like a much-needed surgery. I hope his health will improve exponentially going forward!
A friend of mine just shared a beautiful blog she wrote in one of the FB groups I'm in. I don't think she's on BCO, so I wanted to share it with everyone here. I hope it blesses you this Easter weekend, no matter what your faith. http://avoiceformbc.blogspot.com/2016/03/actions-s...

Hi all! Pages behind, but almost caught up. Welcome newbies! Sorry for the reason you're here but glad you found us.
LindaE - Love love love your beautiful doggie. Stunning!
Lynne - glad DH's surgery was a success.
Babs - praying for a muscle pull.
Sorry to be so out of touch and to not address everyone...I think of you all, read when I can. Still working most of the time in Auckland. But am having a glorious weekend. We get Good Friday and Easter Monday off. I got most of Thursday off and don't have to go back to Auckland until Wed! Whoo hoo! Got one interior wall painted in the dining room. It's kind of a feature wall and it's dark gray. Needs another coat and proper cutting in, etc., but I'm liking it. Hoping to get a whole week off (time in lieu as I've done so much overtime) and paint the rest of the living/dining room.
Sending hugs and good thoughts to everyone.

Hello to all,
I've been reading and keeping up with everyone but haven't been posting. I'm going through some horrible pain issues and trying to get better. A couple of weeks ago I stopped taking my Celebrex as I felt my stomach was rotting. Well I've ended up with crippling pain, really intense. I guess I didn't realize it was helping that much but I'm also wondering if my MS is contributing to this. My lower back is taking the brunt of it so I can barely stand or sit for very long.
Lynne, I'm glad dh has that surgery behind him, I think it was a contributing factor in his healing. Prayers for a speedy recovery going forward.
Babs, I hope you're feeling better today and that it's just a pulled muscle.
Terre, enjoy your time off and good luck with the painting. You are one busy lady. We did a dark grey feature wall in my youngest dd's bedroom and it looks really nice.
Happy Easter to all! Hugs, Annie

Annie so sorry to hear you're going through a rough patch. What dies your mo say? Maybe you should go back on Celebrex? Hoping you feel better soon!!!

Babs, I see my orthopedic doctor on Thursday so will see what he has to say. I am sure my MO will say I shouldn't have gone off of it but the acid reflux was so bad I couldn't take it. These drugs have such horrible side effects. I restarted the Celebrex yesterday and praying I feel some major improvement soon. Thanks for your well wishes!

Annie, It is really good to hear from you, but I am sorry that you are suffering so. I hope some good plan can be found between the MO and ortho. It can be a difficult situation when specialists are looking at things from two different angles. Between drugs side effects and interactions, it can be tricky to balance everything and still find a plan that works. I am hoping you find lasting relief from all the symptoms soon.

Good morning all!
I saw this article posted this morning & thought we could all relate. If I had a nickel for everytime someone told me what I should be doing, well, I'd have a lot of nickels! LOL!
Do not tell cancer patients cure...
Wishing everyone here a Happy Easter, cheers,.Dee

Babs hope for the best for you.
Deanna aww I read the blog you posted, how true. It's not an easy concept. I will reread it and reread it. Thx.
Lynne you went through so much, how wonderful to have this get together and enjoy life!
Wendy, it's a hard decision that you have to make. The placebo thing is hard to swallow. But if it's the only way you could be on a certain drug. I can only wish you strength at this time.
Patty It's so nice to know that you are getting the support you need. It's really nice to be able to have someone on the outside but that understands be there for you. Great that your kids will get to speak to someone else, and DH. Really good. I know about spending time with the kids, we were suppose to go do some shopping but there is no way Dani would leave the kids on a their day off. With Dr appointments, it's a numbers game when it's good to go, but we will manage.
Cristina hope you had a nice time with the family.
Mary, Happy Happy birthday for you MOM. Wow a young man, indeed. yeeh for the good MRI. What a relief
Linda still smiling for seeing Praline, gorgeous animal. Good friends are good, and good neighbors maybe even better.
Milaandra so much for you to deal with. Would there be another option of someone else for you to see but further away? It's so frustrating for you to have to wait and not get it done. Hope you get the results you want and need soon.
Dee that was scary with the port. Well, they should have known better. Thanks for the article. It's so true. People are uncomfortable in difficult situations so they make a fool of themselves. I learned over the years, and I learned from going through many illnesses with different people. Sensitivity is the first priority.
How about this saying that I have on my fridge: Knowledge is knowing WHAT to say. Wisdom is knowing WHEN to say it.
Ally46 these so called Corporate types are so detached from the reality that they should be representing it's scary. Redundancy and not dealing with the issues is so cowardly. Good you left the "gifts" on the table. You tried.
Maryk let us know how you are coming along k, who do you have as support? Who is navigating this with you?
GN everyone,

I hope everyone enjoyed Easter. I did not have PB&J. My son cooked a delicious ham dinner for us. Unfortunately, he is sick today. He caught the flu from his wife. Hopefully, those flu shots my DH and I got last fall will work. At any rate, everyone who was here yesterday had a nice time. It was good to be with family again.
I will check in again later.

I had an egg salad sandwich...it seemed appropriate for the holiday! LOL!

That sounds perfect, Milaandra. Lol. I am willing to bet that there are lots of colored eggs being made into egg salad sandwiches today.

So I had my X-rays and my rib is fractured. There is nothing they can do about this except to give me pain meds. I can't believe this happened from picking up a piece of paper from under my desk!!!
I guess thus is just a by product of bone mets!

Babs, glad you got confirmation and hope for pain subsides. So sorry that you experienced this
Edited - not glad that it's broken....just glad that you know what is going on. I realized my original message was not worded well.

Oh, Babs, so sorry to hear this, but I'm not surprised. That popping noise you described was kind of a giveaway. I recognized it because it's the sound my leg made the day it went from bad to excruciating pain. And yes, very scary that it could happen with a move like that! I hope the pain meds help, but I also suppose you have to be extra careful now not to make it any worse. Darn! Not fun at all! So sorry.

Oh Babs, I am sorry to hear your news. I know that a broken rib is painful. I wish I could think of some words of wisdom to make you feel better, but frankly saying something like "at least it will get better" just does't seem very helpful. Let's face it, MBC really has no up side.
Okay, so here is some advice, not much, but the best I can do.
1. Rest. Let someone else help you. Overdoing it won't make you heal faster.
2. Take those pain meds when you need them. That is what they are for.
3. Don't watch too many funny movies. Laughing will probably hurt.
4. Eat lots of chocolate. I have found that it helps almost everything.
5. When you are lying down, experiment with pillows in different positions to support you in the way that is most comfortable.
6. Before you sit or lie down, make sure you have everything you need so you don't have to get up again right away. This is particularly important if there is no one there to help you.
Are you working? If you are, I hope you don't have to do much lifting or reaching or stretching.
I hope you heal quickly. Here is a very, very gentle hug.

Babs, I agree with everything that Lynne posted, especially the chocolate part. I'm just happy that it's not broken, but wish it had been just a muscular thing. extremely gentle hugs, cheers, Dee

Babs, Sorry about the fracture. Adding to what Lynne said about the pillows, try sleeping ( easier said than done) in a recliner or big chair if need be. Heat helped me after the first few days as well as ice on and off. Mine finally healed but it took a long time. Yes to chocolate and throw in a glass of wine too!

Babs: just chiming in to empathize with you. This really is a cruel disease. Hope you are able to be as comfortable as possible.

Babs, I am so sorry to hear that your rib is fractured. Rachel is right, this really is a cruel disease. Sending you gentle hugs and healing energy.

babs - bugger @ rib. The only thing it's good for is an excuse for really nice wine and chocolate. Sorry you're going through this.

Chocolate and wine! Sinful! Perfect, Babs
Jens how are you sweetie?

Babs, So sorry to hear your rib is fractured...it's crazy that bending over can do this. Seems like MBCbrings new things every day.
Totally believe in the healing power of chocolate, wine and good friends. We are with you. Sending hugs.

Thanks all for your support. Loved your list Lynne. I'm actually off from work this week and heading to Charleston for vacation with my DH. I'm okay if I don't cough. sneeze or laugh. Just realizing how fragile we become with this damned MBC.
Oh well. This too shall pass!!!!
