Yes, hugs Lynne. It does sound like you have a great MO.

Being bone mets only, I have feared that next step, but, as I've learned these boards, the liver mets can go away. Yours are really small! Sounds like you are on a solid path! That's a reason to celebrate!

Lynne, your message needs to be contagious and literally go viral. Thank you for always being the one person I admire.

I am looking forward to starting a thread that will read "Calling all 80-90+ year olds on Ibrance- The drug is new and there are many that are still on since trial which is now 7 years.

Please make note right now of every little pain you have that you do not really notice as anything important. One of Ibrance's SE is that it messes with your brain and makes you think you feel things that were not there before and cause you to worry. There is also a great FB group along with BCO that helps us have some normalcy when we compare. We will be happy to support you with any questions you have.

The biggest HUG I can give,

    Carol

Lynne, You have been through a lot and I admire your attitude going forward. You're right, we do have tx options that were not available even 8 years ago. I will certainly celebrate you today and always!

Lynne sorry about your progression but there are so many options available now. Thank god!!!! I also had small liver mets after bone mets. For me Xeloda knocked my mets to the curb!!!! I hope Ibrance does the same for you!!!!

I was diagnosed at age 63 with not a great prognosis and today I'm celebrating my 67th!!!! I'm hoping to make it to 70 then 75 then 80 etc, etc, etc!!!!!!

    hi all!

Lynne, I'm sorry that you are learning about liver mets, but boy your attitude is superb!! I will help you cancel that pity party! Good for you!

Babs, Happy Birthday & cheers to many, many more. I like Carol's idea of a new thread "80 & 90 yo on Ibrance"

My counts are still down & they have delayed me going back on Ibrance for at least another week til they do WBC again in a week.

Hi to everyone else! cheers, dee

Dee, I am sorry that your counts are still down. It is probably good to give your body an extra week to recover, especially since you were so sick and weakened. I hope you see great response from the treatments once you are ready to resume Ibrance.

Wendy, I love the idea of a screw cancer party!

Amy, You are invited to the screw cancer party, of course.

Deanna and Carol, I will be joining the Ibrance thread soon. I have been lurking on the threads about both Ibrance and faslodex for some time since I suspected I would be headed that way. I like to stay informed.

Kaption, I hope you don't have mets beyond the bones for a very long time. In fact, I hope there is a cure before progression ever hits you.

Lindalou, thank you for your kind words.

Patty, Waving to you. It is always good to hear from you. I hope you are home soon.

I am touched by your encouraging messages.

Hello ladies.... It's been a while since I have been on here. It's so good to hear everyone's POSITIVE stories. I have a question. Has Ibrance thinned your hair?

Hi Tracy, yes it is one of the SE's of Ibrance. Also letrozole does too for some- I notice the thinning, but if you didn't know me it would not be obvious.

We have an Ibrance thread if you want to join. Would love to see you there to share your progress and success.

Lynne - you are one amazing lady! I know that this next tx is the right one for you.

    Babs - Happy Birthday!

I heard from the Ibrance trial MO today. I will not be joining the trial. Results of CT and bone scan came back stable with slight healing of some bone mets.

LindaE, in a way it is unfortunate that you won't be joining the trial, but what a wonderful reason. What is better than being stable with some healing? WOOHOO! Keep doing what you're doing.

Linda, yes a very good reason to not join the Ibrance trial - I take that as a win. Tracy, my hair has thinned on Ibrance - especially up top although with my thick mane, it's difficult to tell but I know it.

    Hello to all,

I've been absent as it's been an extremely busy time with my niece's wedding. She was married on Saturday and it was a beautiful ceremony and reception.

Amy, so sorry to hear about your daughter's miscarriage.

Deanna, wow I'm so happy about your scan results! I hope you're doing something special to celebrate.

Lynne, you have the most amazing attitude and I'm sorry about your progression but I know you will do well on the new treatment.

Dee, visualizing those wbc's coming back up to where they need to be.

Linda, I couldn't think of a better reason for you to not be able to join the trial. Lynne is right, that deserves a WOOHOO! Stable and healing mets, I'll take it!

Weddings are a very tiring event, I'm wondering when I'll get some energy back.

    Hugs to all, Annie

Lynne: instead of a pity party, how about I take you out for ice cream? My kiddos and I will be passing through in a few weeks. :)

Happy Birthday, Babs!!! Hope your day was full of everything that's special to you!

Great news on stable + healing, Linda! I'm sure Ibrance and its equivalent or similar drugs will soon be approved in Canada, so no need to worry about getting on it while what you're on now is working so well!

Tracy, yes to thinning hair. It's not so bad that anyone else notices it. I just pull clumps of it out of my hairbrush. On a positive note, I like the fact that it's greatly cut down on drying time.

Annie, are you planning a wedding for one of your girls, or did you go to wedding? I feel like I missed something, but it could be the Ibrance effect.

Lynne, we'll look forward to seeing you on the Ibrance and Faslodex threads. And as Carol said, if you're on FB, we have a really nice group of women there -- actually two groups -- one on Ibrance, and a "oldies" (45+) Stage IV group too, with some overlap. Happy to invite you or anyone else here to either or both!

PS ~ Be sure to read up on tips for getting painless Faslodex shots. I think it's pinned to the top of the Faslodex boards.

Babs, I'm so sorry, I just realized I didn't wish you a Happy Birthday! Mine is coming up too on Sunday, I will have a celebratory drink for the two of us.

Deanna, it was my niece who got married but both of our daughters were bridesmaids, there was alot we did in preparation for the big day. It's all over and I'm beyond exhausted.

I also have an August birthday. Anyone else? And Anne, Sunday is also my sister's birthday!

As always, I can't keep up with you ladies! We are in the process of moving..(ugh).... so life is a little crazy... and in the midst of it I am going on my annual girls hike tomorrow.... hut to hut hike in the San Juan Mountains here in Colorado -  near Telluride.

Deanna - congrats on your clean scans AND your birthday. I want to be invited to the FB oldies group! I am 49.... so I qualify! Will you invite me?

Nancy in Grand Junction.... going back to your question about the stability of bones, although mine now seem to be totally stable ( hence the 24 miles RT hike coming up this weekend... down in your neck of Colorado!).... I did too much right out of the gate when I was originally diagnosed and did break my hip. It was SO PAINFUL... so while I think in general exercise is critical, I would definitely take it easy right now. I have been getting Xgeva shots for four years and my oncologist believes they are the single most important part of my treatment plan.

Lynne - I have had two small liver lesions since my diagnosis 4 years ago.  All of my recent scans have been "NED".... although I think my oncologist can still see where they were...I am not totally clear. I was going to tell you not to panic, but it doesn't sound like you are. I know sometimes there are things they can do to surgically remove parts of the liver since it regenerates anyway... but my treatment (Herceptin) seems to have done the trick.

Hello and hugs to everyone else!

    XO

    Andrea

Andi, moving + a 24 mile hike = Pure inspiration!!! Please take photos in the high country to share with us! I miss it so much!

Peanut, I'm in for the celebratory drinks! How about a Happy Birthday Screw Cancer party around Amy's new pool?

Lynne, how are you doing today?

Hi, Patty! How are you doing? When do your boys head back to school?

Deanna, I like your party idea. Let us know when to arrive, Amy. I am doing great today, thank you. Everyone's words of encouragement have strengthened my spirit. Hearing from Babs and Andrea about their experiences with liver mets put a smile in my heart and energized me. I plan to make it long enough to qualify for Carol's future thread for Ibrance users in their 80s and 90s.

Rachel, Let me know where and when you will be in Maine and New Hampshire. I look forward to seeing you.

My life goes on without missing a beat. We are having a family get-together here later this month. My six sons, their wives, and their children will all be here. There will be 24 of us. It is hard to find a time when everyone is able to come, but one of my sons put himself in charge of finding a day. He volunteered to coordinate the food, too, but I think it will be easier if I take over that task. My sons and daughters-in-law who live locally will jump in to help. I can't wait to have everyone here. I will take lots of pictures.

My DH and I were supposed to go to Hawaii last March, but he was still in and out of the hospital and far from well enough to travel, so we had to cancel the trip. Now that he is healthy, off all medications, and has resumed a normal life, we have finalized new plans. We will leave for Hawaii on October 2. I look it as a victory trip. We have overcome so much during the past 14 months, and we feel blessed that we are both still here and looking forward to the future. We won't see any whales in October, but we will relax and enjoy ourselves. Ibrance better cooperate on this!

We have some much-needed rain here today.

Peanut, I want to be added to the birthday celebration mine is coming up August 27th and it will be my 56th. Three years ago I spent my b'day in the hospital due to a femur fx caused by bone mets. They said only had months to go! Look at me now, stable boy is my boyfriend.

Wow so many Leos here. Rachel the 18th is our 26th wedding anniversay.

Deanna, this is for you, a pic of me and my girls. It was hard to get the whole wedding party as the photographers whisked them away to other locations.

My niece and her husband. I feel so blessed to have been able to attend the wedding. I remember when they got engaged and I cried because I didn't know how I'd be a year and a half later. I made it through the day and had alot of fun!
