Precious Angel!! 😇. Thank you for sharing!! Looks like a happy Lil girl. I needed that smile thank you. It is why we fight. Our families. It's the honest truth. The love we have. Have a good weekend everyone. Hugs ~M~

Intolight...g'daughter is adorable but she looks like a handful. Two year olds can run you ragged.
Dlb823, yes dehydration can be serious. As we get older, our sense of thirst wanes terribly so we do have to force ourselves to drink fluids. I'm noticing it more and more myself. It helps to put FUN stuff in water like mint or cucumber, julienned pieces of ginger, etc. to make it more enticing.
Just picked up "Rollo" today...DH named it that. Now I can sit down when I need to, and it has an attachment on the side for my cane. Back is doing a tad better, but now my right hip is really bothering me. I see a rod and a pin in the crystal ball for me in the not too distant future.
Everyone have a great weekend.

Lita~ there you go again rocking those hats!!! Rollo will be a handy tool to roll along with you. Down day for me today, had my XGeva shot and today seems to be the se day. It's not that bad but just feeling sleepier and a mild headache, more annoying really Hope everyone has a good weekend. ~M~

Deanna - I am so glad to hear it is an infection. I honestly think it is a good idea to take a course of strong antibiotics every now and then when on the immunosuppressing drugs but ... probiotics, please.
And I've been meaning to mention something regarding dehydration that I learned ...
I work with a cancer consult and cancer patients are highly prone to dehydryation. Furthermore, she thinks dehydration promotes metastasis. This came up because it is her only concern about exercise. She like moderate and even regular vigorous exercise, but no marathons that really push your body to the brink. And, yes, drink ... but if you are actually getting dehydrated because of exercise or whatever ... go for some sugar free electrolyte replacement ... something developed by a doctor for sports. Not Gatorade.

Lindalou, I am sure that you are more nervous about your dh's upcoming scans than he is. I hope the results are great. My DH had scans last month, so no more till November. He is feeling really good. His skin doesn't have a yellowish tint anymore, so the bile duct bypass must be working. I am doing well, too. I had to take a three week break from Ibrance before my kidney surgery, so I am on day 21 of the 1st post-surgery cycle. At this point, I have had so many "breaks" that I have lost track of how many cycles I have had. I will have to check on it. The good news is that I am not having any serious SE from Faslodex and Ibrance other than low counts. I will have blood tests next Thursday and CT and bone scans next Friday.
Intolight, Your granddaughter is so cute. I can see why she brings you so much joy.
Lita, I am sure you will get a lot of use out of Rollo. That seat is a good idea.
Hugs from, Lynne

Wendy, I'm so happy to hear your good news! Enjoy your weekend and do something fun!
Deanna, I'm so sorry you haven't been feeling well. Glad to hear you're on the mend though. I think you taught us all a very valuable lesson about making sure we're staying properly hydrated. Sending you big hugs!
Intothelight, your granddaughter ia absolutely adorable!
Lita, you definitely wear a hat well!
Hugs to all, Annie

hi ladies, it has been quite some time since I last posted and very happy to see some familiar faces (momatt, babs, etc.). To the new faces, I am so very sorry you had to join this club but hugs and support to you all.
My mom has been on the same trial in Boston for about a year and stable. Overall 41% reduction in her bone and liver tumors. However she's been pretty run down, sad, and not feeling well. I'm taking her to Orlando next week for the FORCE (for us brca ladies) conference and some sunshine, some education, and cheer her up.
I posted on another thread but I just had my second mammogram ever, at 29.. which led to questionable results and had a biopsy yesterday. Now I wait. I also have chosen my doctor for my preventative double mascectemy later this year. Just hoping this biopsy turns out to be nothing and it all was just because of dense breasts.

Thanks, everyone. Yes, I HAVE TO WEAR HATS in the sun. Xeloda/Capecitabine makes one VERY sun sensitive. I try and wear long sleeve shirts, too, or my arms just feel like they're burning after a couple of minutes - even with sun screen .
The rolling walker with a seat is a must for me as my back and hip get worse. DH suggested I get the one with bigger wheels so I can go over gravel and rough terrain. Is DH planning some off-road adventures for me in the near future? Unlocking the brakes and "accidentally" pushing me off a cliff at Big Sur?

My scan went ok this week thanks for all of your concern!
Micmel, I made it to Wyoming ok, but was pretty tired when I got here Can't wait to see Em tonight, she looked so beautiful yesterday (of course as her mom, I'm not at all prejudiced, lol!) You have a great day and thank you for being such a great friend

Lita - I applaud you always wearing your hat and long sleeves! I am supposed to because of recent roads, but find my head just gets so hot I end up taking it off. Same with the long sleeves. I end up feeling like I am going to self combustion! I have gotten really diligent about sunscreen, something I used to ignore. Of course living in Fl in the summer, you often feel you could self combustion in a bathing suit!
I think your dh is just being a typical man, more power, bigger means better, etc. I know if I get to the point of needing a scooter he will probably insist on one you can add nitrous to. He wanted to buy a golf cart with big tires that goes 42mph! Why? More power!!!
Hugs and prayers,
C

Daughter love glad to hear your moms been doing well. Wow a year in a txt is great! Praying for you! And that the biopsy is negative!!!!
Down in Florida visiting my folks. Dad is 95 and has an amazing mind. Body is not as good. He uses a wheelchair now and has gotten thinner. His skin is sooo translucent !!!! Not easy to see!

Lita, love your "Rollo." Keep moving!
My DH just bought me a scooter so I can go with him on our longer walks. I live in San Diego by the bay and we used to love to take long walks in the evening along the boardwalk to the beach and back. We push our g'daughter in her stroller and she loves this. I have missed it. I can walk about a mile, but it is a mile one way, not counting how far down the boardwalk we walk, so I have not been able to do this with them in a long time. Now I can. I still walk down to the bay and around a bit as often as possible and keep up mild exercise. It is all about enjoying family.

Pole, I am on the same treatment combo and have a binenscan and CT of chest, abdomen and pelvis every three months. I'm about to have my third set of scans.
Wendy, sooooooooo happy for your news!
Lindalou, hopefully some of the streaming content from ASCO will cover what you're looking for.
Deanna, so sorry to hear about the infection you've been dealing with. Glad they caught and thanks for the reminder about dehydration. You too, Z.
Babs, so glad you're seeing your dad. 95 years old is remarkable!
Mom, good on your SIL!!!!
Lita, I hope you and Rollo take on the town.
Love to all

Lindalou, here's a bit of info you were interested in from ASCO. It's an interesting summary of several trials so others may have interest too

Thanks Jen. I see I can sign on free for practice update which I will do. I'm finding the abstracts i wanted on prostate cancer for my dh and Abemaciclib. I'll also run it by my BIL for his take on it. Good luck on upcoming scans.
Deanna, hoping the worst is behind you now.
Intolight, Send photos of you on your scooter. You and Lita should have a race!

Wendy, Awesone news! Revel in it for more than the weekend girl1
Deanna, Whoa! A brush with E.Coli is so scary. The last thing any of us need. I am SOOOO glad they found it and were able to treat it on time.
babs, 95 year old Dad is pretty darn special. Something to celebrate!
LOL Linda good idea about the scooter race! Hope DH does well and nice news on the scans!
Oh Lita, I sure hope the rod and pin are not necessary for your future.....
Lynne, I am so glad you and DH are getting a break. Hope you are able to squeeze in some enjoyable activities and we'll be thinking of you and scans.
Daughter, I sincerely hope it just dense breasts too.
Intolight, That baby is very precious!
Z, a great reminder on the hydration piece for all of us as I just went through a week of severe constipation hell.....tried EVERYTHING and finally got results. What a misery. (You know the commercial Plop Plop fizz fizz Oh what a relief it is....) very true

Wendy, such great news!!! Am very happy for you and praying it just keeps getting better!
So I took a very short but long trip to Wyoming this weekend to see my daughter compete in the Mrs. Wyoming pageant. She didn't win but did very good. She was competing against girls twenty years younger than her, so I think she's very brave for just doing something she wanted to do. Here's her picture getting ready to go into the interview. She lives so far away and I miss her terribly!

Gracie your daughter is stunning! What a beautiful picture! I can just imagine how much you miss her. My youngest moved only 40 mins away but works 72 hours a week so I get to see her once a week at most. I miss her terribly but am fortunate that my other daughter still lives at home. Good for your daughter following her dream, you should be proud.

thanks Annie! Yes I am very proud of her. Glad she's not afraid to go seek out her dreams

Oh my goodness, Gracie, your daughter is beautiful. I think she is brave, too, but you must take some credit for bringing her up in a way that gave her the confidence to believe in herself.
Daughter, it is good to hear from you. I am glad that the your mom is doing well on the trial, but sorry she is feeling sad and tired. Is she taking an anti-depressant? Is she not feeling well due to SEs of treatments? Is the oncologist aware? Sorry for all the questions. Hopefully, the trip to Florida will help. Sometimes just getting away is a good thing. When will you get the results of your biopsy? I hope it is negative. Let us know. You and your mom are in my prayers.
Deanna, I hope you are feeling better.
Two years ago today I received my bc diagnosis. At the time I thought I would not live to see Christmas, but here I am, still going strong. It has been an eventful two years. I can't say that I have enjoyed every minute of the past two years because life is life. We have to take the bad with the good. I do have to say that I have experienced many times of great joy, and I now appreciate things more than I ever did before. This site has provided me with invaluable knowledge and support. I have gained friends here, and lost some friends, too. This thread is the first one I was involved in, thanks to Deanna's recommendation. All my mets were in my bones at that time, and and I was both thankful and relieved to find such a warm, welcoming group of people here, people who truly understood what I was going through. Thank you for being here. I plan on sticking around for a very long time.
Hugs and prayers to all, Lynne

Gracie your daughter is gorgeous aren't daughter the best such close bonds. I'm so glad you made it out to see her.
Deanna how are you ? Hoping your getting stronger and putting this behind you.

Gracie, your daughter is beautiful! I know how difficult it is to live so far away. My youngest son and 2 grandsons live in MO while I live in San Diego, so I feel your pain! Facetime is a beautiful thing!
Lynne, I see you are on Ibrance like me. I am thankful for what this drug is doing for me even with the ses. I too plan on being here for a long time.
Chris

Lynne, thanks so much, and two years is wonderful! Praying you have many many more!!
Wendy thank you. Yes that bond is undeniable! It was really good to see her even though she was busy.
Chris, yours is much further than mine I think. It is hard but yes, FaceTime is a wonderful thing! I also hope you get years and years

just popping in to say hi to everyone! I'm doing so much traveling being on this trial that I don't know where I live anymore. Scans coming up in a week. I feel really good so I'm scared to death. Every time I've felt really good, I've been blindsided by growing mets.
But I want to share something that happened to me last week, as I hear of others having dizzy spells. I woke up, sat up in bed & the room was spinning. Tried to get up & walked into walls, couldn't get up stairs, felt nauseated. It was the worst feeling, couldn't trust my body. DH took me to PCP, I had an episode of BPPV, Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo. It can be caused by some of our meds, a virus or a tumor. I was able to get almost instant relief by doing something called the "epley maneuver" which you can look up & do it yourself. Basically it's an inner ear thing but I was so freaked out & if this helps anyone by reading about it, I would be happy.
I will have to try to get caught up on this thread, but our water pressure tank went last night, waiting for the plumber to arrive. ah, life in the country. take care all, cheers, dee

Gracie - lovely daughter!
50s Girl - Congrats on two years on going strong!
GG27 - Thanks for checking in! Thinking of you! I am glad you are in the trial ... and doing so well. I do suspect you feel well because your cancer is on the retreat. The travel is awful but it will be worth it. Let us know.

Dee - always nice to see you popping in and hoping for good scans. That episode must have been scary!
Gracie - your daughter is beautiful and her eyes are simply special.
Lynne - Congrats on 2 years!
Wendy - When did you start losing your hair after you started Taxol? I was told after the second or third tx but I still have a head of hair.
