Thanks for checking in Chelle. So sorry to hear about the hospitalization, but glad things are improving, and glad your hubby is continuing to heal. I can totally relate to how sick you've been, and very thankful your brain MRI was clear! Hugs, and I hope you are able to rest up and let your body heal and rebuild from what you've been through.

Hu Chelle, It is good to hear from you. I am glad you are feeling better. Try to take it easy for a while so you recover fully. I hope your dh's surgeries go smoothly. You and your DH remain in my thoughts and prayers. You two have been through so much in a relatively short period of time.

    Hugs from, Lynne

Keetmom I've been on Taxol for two and a half months. I feel really good besides the hair thing Taxol managed to kill all my liver mets in just two months. Do the premeds though I skipped it the first two infusions but at the third I had a reaction. Good luck.

keetmom, I had severe reactions to taxotere, then taxol too, Abraxane was my last option pretty much and has worked really well, although I had it weekly. I wish you well :)

Chelle. Glad you're better and back!

Wendy so glad Taxol is easy for you

Well met with my MO yesterday and we decided I'd do another round of Gemzar and then do scans(moving them up about 6-8 weeks) due to increasing TMs. In the meantime she would look into studies for me. Well this morning my TMs came in and they shot up over 100 points and are their highest EVER! I believe that Gemzar is not working for me!!!! Contacted MO to move up my scans to next week- waiting to hear back! UGh!!!!

    I hate BC!!!

I have a dream trip to Israel planned in August and told my DH that no matter what I plan on making that! BC will not keep me down if I can help it!

Keetmom - I completed my first cycle of Taxol last week, ie 3 infusions done. I have to say this protocol is much easier than I anticipated. Some fatigue and nausea, no hair loss yet for me. I had a very mild skin rash on second infusion, they stopped the drip and waited, resumed and everything was back to normal. Take the pre-meds! My liver enzymes went down by 60% since I started Taxol, TMs will be next week. That reaction of yours is so scary, I coded blue on scan contrast and it's not fun! Feel free to pm me if you want to.

Babs - Oh I so wish your scan will be good. Damn TMs.

    Hey everyone,

So I'm really new to this thread. I was just diagnosed with bone mets to my sternum yesterday. I'm still assessing it and am a little bewildered since the percentage of me getting breast cancer at 27 and it spreading to my sternum was on the lower end of what my doctor stated. He's actually quite shocked but is doing everything in his power to get me all the treatment and help to get rid of it. My question for you fabulous peeps is, do any of y'all have mets of the sternum and if so how was radiation to that area was is quite sever? Also if radiation didn't work what other forms of treatment were you given? I understand that with bone mets even if they get rid of it that doesn't mean theres a chance it won't come back. Im scared I won't lie but staying strong and know I can do it.

    Jenny,

I don't know all of your other indicators or whether it is even indicated for you, but I am in Ibrance and Femara and it has stabilized all of my extensive bone mets, including my sternum. I am also stage IV so there is no cure for me, but there is hope for a longer life. I just want to encourage you that there are a lot of new medicines and treatments available now and your MO should be able to find the right combination for you. Don't give up, stay positive, and fight on. We are all pulling for you.

Jinny, I also have widespread extensive bone mets, including my sternum. I am also on Ibrance/ Femara/ Xgeva and doing well. My onc has never discussed radiation with me yet, probably because my mets pain is not severe and only in my left arm and right rib area.

Gracie...congratulations on your good scan results! Yay!!

Babs...Damn the TMs. Keep living and fulfilling your dreams.

Patty...Exes are better than daily PITA behavior (IMHO). Your boys will know what is true. Now you can have some peace while you take care of yourself. ((()))

Always good to hear from you Lynnwood, bigbhome,Lynne,Deanna, Melmcbee, Ronnie and everyone in the club.

    Thinking of you all...

    Congrats Gracie!

Babs - It is painful to skip around through treatments ... but sometimes its just what you have to do to get the right one. Unfortunately we find treatments using the dartboard approach at the moment. In NY you have access to amazing trials ...

That said, I won't be surprised if the scan is negative for progression. Both TM's and CTs have a lot of issues. I am so pleased your oncologist does not base treatment decisions on them ...
