WOW, that is so amazingly beautiful, jazzygirl! that must have been really something to see in person! i love that they still have wicker baskets. wonder what that would be like to go up in one?0 -
Kathyec- the balloon glows are my favorite event they do. I have not done a balloon ride, but those that have done so say it is an extraordinary experience. Many people here in town volunteer to "crew" at this event and often are able to get to ride in one at some point. It is the way to go as the average cost per person is $300 for about an hour. I hope to go down to the field this Thursday for the special shapes glow and will post more pictures if I do. The ones here so far are off the ABQ International Balloon Fiesta on FB.
Hope everyone is having a nice Sunday!0 -
Kathec... my best friend (of decades) went up in a hot air balloon for an anniversary. Loved every minute. Said the view is unforgettable, the power of the wind currents is astonishing, and the being untethered from the planet is utterly peaceful. There are no events like that down here, or I think I'd be saving my pennies for an eventual trip up.
Jazzy... enjoy the glows!! How lovely to be able to see it all. :-)0 -
i liked how you said gather up the pieces and squish them back together, skittle. it can be like herding spilt mercury. so, i enjoy little things, like cherry lip bam. i am reading that book about steve jobs actually hugely entertaining, and easy to read. am enjoying it much more than i thought i would. mmmm my computer on lap reclining on my bed, cooling down close to sunset. there is this sight that i look at, i found a link for it somewhere on bco, about a week ago. it is called the assertive cancer patient . com. the lady who wrote it is a metastatic breast cancer survivor who has just gone into hospice, and her friend gretchen posted for her that she would like some letters posted to the site, cause she can still read them. i left one, but i dont know if any of you guys might have known or read of her. she has done some remarkable things that she writes about, and she has been fun and informative for me to read about how she did things all through out. years worth of stuff. maybe even if you dont know her, you might leave her a note to read?0 -
Kathyec- I cannot find anything on the "assertive cancer patient" but if you have more info, would be happy to post for this woman who may need some support during her time in hospice. If you happen to know her name/handle, I can search that way?
The Steve Jobs biography on of the best I have ever read. I have been reading Neil Young's biography this year, but don't get through any book very fast these days. Ted Kennedy's is very good as well!
Another busy week begins at work. Wishing my hermit friends here a very lovely fall week ahead! Halloween is coming!0 -
And Halloween is Spookies birthday! She will be 4!!!!! That's the "how" she got her name. I thought by letting her hair grow to the floor she would look like a small white Cousin It. And she did!0 -
jazzygirl, hope this works : www.assertivecancerpatient.com ......0 -
i dont know how to make a link on here, but maybe copy and paste will work0 -
Kathyec- that is the most well organized cancer blog I have ever seen. She is going to Bailey-Boushey house, and a friend of mine where I live is from the Baltimore area and her mother received end of life hospice care at that facility. I get their newsletters, as I donated for my friends mother in honor of her memory, and think she will be well taken care of there.
We have several here who have metastatic breast cancer, and just know I think of you every day and wish you, peace, love and healing.
Spookie- Cousin It. I love it. Spookie must love Halloween.0 -
it is very well organised. admirable! and i had started at the beggining and then went to the front, i mean latest.(im not nearly as organized!) so i went back and looked, and she has actually been there for a while and does have friends and two sons to help her. i guess she has just been extra depressed or something while they are adjusting meds for her. i do go looking for other womens blogs sometimes, but absolutely consider "our" site the true home of my heart and full of laugh especially cami, out there somewhere!0 -
Oh I have to catch up--but right now I'm to much of a hermit, not feeling so well==so when I feel beter I'll catch up. It'll be soon I'm sure0

Angry birds! so fun! and really helped me get through treatments, silly i know. then my friend andrea told me about this other game for phone. its called plants vs zombies, and the plants have all different attributes, addictive. i think i will have to read the neil young book too. my altime favorite singer (in my youth) David bowie. but tremendously admired neil too, so many bands! so little time! i think i actuallly spotted camillegal, drinkin on another thread. she a bad girl0 -
Cami- I saw your note about not feeling well. I am sorry to hear this. Thinking of you this morning and wishing you a better day!0 -
Cami, hope today finds you doing better. Think of you often.0 -
Cami - hugs for you, I am on the rampage at present, not taking any """" from anyone......forgot to say my OH came up trumps twice recently, at midnight before he announced he was going to the hopsital with me next day and over the weekend was very sensitive and even proactive, it was a good job I was sitting down at the time.....!!! Nice though, we´ve rowed a lot since of course......0 -
Now thats an image from the past.......they were great fun noise noise noise....0 -
oh, Camille, gentle hugs and hopes you feel better soon.
Teka, great mental image... clink, clink, clink. (Maybe that's why I'm not fond of monkeys? They kind of give me the creeps. Not as much as clowns, but right up there.)
bgirl, hoping you are doing well.
Jazzy, what wow photos. Amazing.
Lily, hugs to you from afar, so I don't get into the rampage. Hope you feel at peace soon.
DD2 reports that her dachshund now has "a big head" after the race, promoting himself in the pack.
Happy midweek to hermits, all. :-)0 -

I LOVE that Halloween tree!!!!!! Where did you find it? Did you make it?
OMD my DD will want one too!!0 -
it's all good Teka.0 -
Hi hermits- super busy week and going into another busy day. Yoga tonight and looking forward to that to decompress.
Cami- so sorry to hear about the D. I had bad D for a month last year around another health situation, and know it just wears you out. I hope things are better for you soon. Thinking of you this morning and prayers for a better day.
Spookie- Halloween tree pic came off Facebook. It looks like someone photoshopped a bunch of black cat faces to put on that tree. I bet there is a way to make a tree with cat photos too (real cats may not like it so much....)
Teka- I hope you are enjoying your recliner!
Skittle- I hope your feet are feeling better. Mine still hurt, but I am coping.
Wishing everyone else here a lovely day (or at least tolerable one!)0 -
Good Morning everyone--I missed u guys, but just was wiped out--doing better my #'s are moving up a little but now there yet--takes a long time chit.
Skittle I hate clowns and monkeys too hahaha when I watch scary movies they are worse that ghosts to me. just put a crazy clown or a crazy monkey in a movie and I know it's going be bad. That's so funny of all things.
Jazzy those pics are awesome--that one floating was amazing were u up there, looked a little scary to me.
Lily are u doing better?
Kath u seem a little brighter, I hope so
Teka I miss all the emicons(sp) for me too. I hope they put them back,
My whole computer is looking weird to me, and it's confusing.
Wait today is hump day for the workers right.? The rest of us it doesn't matter I guess. But I still love that camel.
Joey and I had some good cuddle time this morning, he woke and early and came to my room so that was nice.
I hope everyone has a good day today and feel the best u can0 -
Hi Everyone
Haven't been on here the past days...went to another weigh off, watermelon got third place...pumkin got 9th/32.....DH sold two more to a carver....
Been spending time repotting cactis plants...hoping I don't kill them.
How cool that Joey likes to cuddle with you Cami. How are you feeling? I don't know what D means...
Weather is awesome here....my nephew lives in North Dakota...he is dealing with couple feet of snow...yikes....
Hugs to you all....0 -
Thanks Teka==
Lori that huge pumkin got 9th or the other one--they must grow them like crazy there. And u'r nephew lives in the dakatas I saw they got so much snow I figured it wil sonner or later come this way, maybe more toward u, but us too I'm right near you actually. Lori u sound pretty good.
I'm feeling better and I see a new Dr. Mon., another opinion on some of my chit. they really don't know what to do with me.I know they are a trying to help me, they just can't figure things out and they don't want me to be in so much pain. Oh well.
OK I was not allowed to help Joey with his Government homework, I told my DD I knew what he was studying but she insisted I'd put my own thoughts in it, probably would, and she wants him sticking to the books. Pushaw I say, the trth is best, but I'm not allowed Free Speech with Joey. LOL--With all my letters to the government I know exactly how they work and what they do, plus I worked for the government, but my bitchy DD thinks I overdue my thoughts. I did not raise a brat, she did it herself. I always said I want no credit or blame for my kids, they have free will and will end up doing what they want anyway.
Oh I went out the other day, but that's all I;ve done and I had to leave after just a couple of hours. so I've been pretty much hermitting and will continue for a few days BUT yes BUT I did take a shower and smell luscious and wearing all warm stuff for now-it's cold right now.0 -
Teka--or the whole family with the government there. LOL0
-
Oh I have a Halloween party to go to next week??? But I figured out immediately what I'm going as---I could weat a caftan, my hair (where it's the longest) in a couple of curlers--no make-up and slippers and just go as myself--Altho I don't know if we have curlers that would be the special look. I'd be the most comfortable too.0

That sounds great cami! i love it for a costume. i chickened out of trying belly dancing class this week. maybe i will start next week. How is this for hermitting? Yesterday, i didnt get out of pajamas till 3:00. when i put on a skirt and tights, which made my man put me back in the bed! where we attempted to have as much fun as we used to, but..... oh well, HE had fun, cause i am a BAAAD girl. this saddens me more than anything cause we used to love to be nekkid together, even after 15 years we were still crazy bout each other that way.... so, then got up and made some good chicken soup, and it was attempting to rain in los angeles all day, so perfect for hermitting. Anybody put thier face out there for the bco fundraiser?0
