I too find no one gets how much effort everything is, day to day stuff takes a huge effort of will and resources....and now here I am in October with another chest virus, exactly same as last year......its all ergy to pinktober i think............I hurt every day every single day physically and feel different to others around me all the time today i just want to curl up, instead I have to drive to work and teach two classes and drive home. I also have sick dogs to look after............

just nothing in my tank today, even had a bit of an email rant at my PS as I have tpo pay for everything - system here can mutilate me but not have any responsibility to make me right or even remove adhesions.................of course in writing they have to in practice it does not exist....................they create a waiting list of ten years............I seriously kid you not

    Cami- get some rest today.

Lily- you have to wait so long to get adhesions removed? I think if we were men, it would all happen a lot faster.

Cold wintery weather has moved in. I am in a very hermit-ish mood myself!

I fear our government is about to default and another credit downgrade may be coming. What is happening to our country?

lily55, i am so sorry. that sucks. i hurt everyday, too and am getting really tired of pain meds, and am sure my docs think i lik em. Not. but they also help with this insane itching in my surgurized breast. Does anyone else get that? it really makes me crazy. only thing that helps otherwise is a swell spot, and exercise, which is hard to do, cause tamox has taken away all energy and will from my life. Sweet dreams Cami. i am so far behind on everything, my to-do list just keeps growing and growing. i got an instant headache yesterday from herceptin. and i had to do an echo yesterday before, and my ef fell 12 points. 62 now. so, for just those two things, an hour and a half total, i was there from 9:30, till almost 3:30. yikes, and had 2 errands to run, and dinner to make. thats enuff! lily, it made me laff , tho, cause you said "all ergy"! thats exactly how i feel! All ergy!

    Hi Hermits,

Boy few days away from here and lots of news...new names, so cool. I was so sad about Julie, not that I was close to her, but it just hit me cuz I found out she had mets on my last day of chemo, and it was sad but yet she was so gun hoe that she was up for another battle. I got her families address and plan on sending a note to her sweet daughters....

I started my first vaccination today, along with that I also get an immune booster. Feeling a bit sluggish, but doing better this evening. Sure wished I knew if I am getting the real deal or a placebo..Oh well like everything else, just have to let go of the "what ifs."...and hope this beast doesn't return.

So does anyone know what k167 means?? Apparently this is an aggressive type of triple negative cancer?? I am going to google it, never heard of it. (Someone posted it on another site)

I hope everyone is doing well....Cami...glad to hear you are resting your body.

So another question.....Who are the moderaters on here?

Rainy and cold here....had to bundle up on the sofa, my body is adjusting to this shot.....

    Will check in later....tootles Hermits.....

ki67 is a protein associated with cell proliferation, but i am not sure they use it anymore? and arent the mods the same for all threads?

  • jazzygirl
    jazzygirl Member Posts: 11,975

Lurking blondie- most of the pharmacies will give you a shot and if it's covered by insurance, they will just submit it to your covering entity (for me it is BSBC) and will also fax a copy of the info to your PCP office (or any other doc you may want). Sometimes I am in the doctors office at the right time to get it there and sometimes not.

Lori- I hope you feel better from the vaccine. Hopefully you got the real thing.

I think the Ki67 is a way to measure how fast the cells are dividing. That will indicate if it is a more aggressive type or not. I think that is one of many ways they determine whether it is an aggressive cancer or not. I remember my rad on in AZ telling me that I had a very low number which indicated mine was a slower one.

Cami- did you get some rest today?

Kathyec- you had a long and tiring day. Hope you can get some rest (I need to take my own advice!)

Went to the hair salon tonight to get a cut and highlights (which came out well), the slogan there was Think Pink. Ugh. Fifteen more days of Pinktober.

I did read an enlightening article there by Valerie Harper who has the right attitude about this stuff. She made a comment that cancer can hide for awhile, which is the fear we all live with (or for some here, it already has returned). But she said I just need to live for now. I came away feeling less like a victim and even more determined to try to live my life fully.

scar tissue can soften up nicely...I apply eucerin to mine...

they will go in the same areas for implants,

Kath you asked about itching, i have had itching once and it was s weird, deep in my left breast, felt like I wanted to manipulate my expander to get it.....

Regarding the pain issues with some of you guys....does anyone take tramadol (ultram)? I take it, its more for moderate pain, but it is easy on my stomach and safe for kidneys/liver. I take 100mg in the morning and late afternoon. It helps my bone pain.

Lack of energy really sucks.....just have to stay in the moment and get through each hour....Lilly, is there a way you can make things easier at work? Like sit down during lectures?

Another raining day....gonna make banana bread again. Last loaf ended up being about two inches high!!! Took it out of the oven and then it deflated....kind of like a Lucy moment...ha haa Time for housework as well....boo. Good thing is, I have a good book, and have something to look forward to...

    take care.....Lori

    Hi everyone,

Lori we have almost the same weather for me it's a good scary movie day. I feel bad about u'r energy level, I was never one to have loads of energy, but I have even less now--I take a shower and it's work--so it a weird feeling and my itching I'm sure is different cuz u have actual things there so it must be worse, but when I itch I can feel the itch, but can't feel the scratch, which goes on and on and I still itch where rads were. Sometimes I'm ripping my skin and still don't feel it. All it is is itchy. Silly stuff.

Well I hope u all have a good day.

i wonder how many women itch like that after rads. it really makes me craaaaaazy!!! hm, lori! i should ask my dr. about tramadol. can you still function on it, drive etc? cause i do wonder whhat percocet does to my liver. All i know is about a half hour after taking it, that insane deep itching is reduced. never quite goes away though. so now i am sitting here trying to drink 36 ounces of water, so i can do a lower ladyparts ultrsound at 11:00. Yay, not! embarrasing at the best of times, but she is still mostly bald. yipes.

tramadol is the non narcotic version of Vicodin. I think it is also made with Tylenol.

Itchies, I asked my RO for lidocaine ointment. It numbs the skin, worked really well for me. The patches are wonderful for other body parts, but not there, the skin is too tender and fragile.

this is a really deep interior itching. like the only way to reach it would be to swallow my arm.

  • camillegal
    camillegal Member Posts: 15,711

Kath I know mine is awful but I figured cuz it's numb and I can't feel the scratching, but the nerves allow the itching--which is all screwed up as far as I'm concerned.

Teka I'm waiting for all those faces again--we got some stuff back, maybe we'll get it all back.

lilly55, i am curious. who are you wanting to poop on? think about it. its making me laff, all the effort it would actually take to poop on someone. they would have to be tied up or asleep. cause they wouldnt sit still for that, would they? but the picture that creates in my mind.......hermits are the best

Lori- a friend of mine posted it on Facebook and it is from a page called Queen of Sarcasm.

Lily- I am with you. Sometimes I get so pooped on every day at my client site, I think turn around is fair play. The program director is pissed at me this afternoon because one of the leads on my team won't do a status report. He has been talked to about it repeatedly. What can I do if their employees won't do their job? I stress the phrase "their employees" too. Poop!

Teka- I will calm it down now, I promise. I can only imagine the faces for Halloween if I handed those out!

OMG Jazzy I saw that on facebook and I really didn't understand it til now--OMG that's so clever now that I get it. Takes me a while-

And lets not make fun of people who poop uncontrollably cuz I've done it on people myself, not on purpose of course and Teka no fetish just an incident as I say but one thing for sure u don't forget that and no one lets u.

It's a quiet day around here so far, Joey is still at school that's why. But it's chilly here but no snow yet, I know somewhere it's snowing and not NM. I want to buy one of the lighted half trees that u hang on the wall for my room, I love lights like that. I have to do my nails they look awful well I'll wear a bandaide on the one that fell off but it's started to grow back already and so far looks good so maybe it was a good thing.

Well I hope everyone has a restful and happy weekend cuz I plan to.

Hi folks- quiet weekend here. I am feeling much the same, doing some introspection about my life this weekend. I am going up to Santa Fe today for a few days to enjoy a concert tonight and a few other things I like to do. Sort of looking for some clarity around a few things, can any of you relate?

Weather is continuing to cool down here. How is everyone's foliage doing? We have mostly yellows here, a few orange trees here and there. Nothing as pretty as the northeast gets. I lived in CT half of my life to date, and will always miss October there.
