Interestingly enough, my LE PT just told me this week to lie flat on the bed and stretch my arms out as far as I can to the 10 & 2 positions. Apparently helps to keeo the radiation rebound effect from pulling in. I'd forgotten about this breather but will add that too. Thanks Hugz

Very timely reminder. My hand swelled. It's done that before. Not sure exactly what I did this time to aggregate it. Can't get into therapist until Monday. Don't have the proper bandage and I'm afraid my glove and sleeve made it worse. Thank you!

Jo - I know nothing about TaiChi either, but this is very much like an exercise we do in my Chair Yoga class. We don't make a fist. The hands stay open. The stretch is along the arms outward - tighten to reach as far as you can. Our teacher describes it kind of like trying to squeeze a tennis ball between your shoulder blades. Maybe someone else will have a better answer.

Unfortunately I've never done Lebeds so I can't answer that question.

I'm guessing you're talking about your obliques - around to the side from your tummy? Sounds to me like this opening would certainly provide movement in that area.
