I'm a F/G cup. The worst part of the MRI is that piece of the bed that hits your breast bone. But I am still sore:(
The lady that did my mammogram yesterday was so amazing! She was hilarious and she a had the "man-orgam" picture in her room! Love it!
My pcp called me yesterday and said my MRI was clear, but after my mammogram yesterday the first radiologist said he wanted another ultrasound on a spot above my nipple, and then the mammographer took My original ultrasound, my MRI, and my mammogram films to this other radiologist who is the boobie guy specifically. So he should call me today, after he came in and talked to me, he looked at the affected breast and said there is def something going on, and he wants to find it. (The first guy who looked at my MRI doesn't specialize in breast issues and the other guy does)
I did call the bs and let her know about the random bruise, and she asked me to photograph it daily and email the nurse my photos as well as email all the photos of the progression. Then she said when they do the follow up ultrasound that the radiologist will take biopsys of what he sees on the scans, as well as the visible skin issues.
So at least we are getting somewhere:)0 -
Radiologist called yesterday and said all my scans look clear, but really that doesn't mean anything, he called the bs, who in turn called me and said that they will book my fine needle biopsy of my lymph node and a punch biopsy if skin and the mass just above my nipple.
I am really pleased with my team. Still no closer to answers, but I feel like I'm in good hands.
Even if it is not cancer, they are sure there is something wrong, they just aren't sure what.
I feel like I'm in my own episode of house:)0 -

Thanks Bon, I will ask about that.
What's interesting is the more digging my bio mom is doing, she is shocked at how much cancer is falling out of her family tree, 4/8 of her dads brothers and sisters have cancer, her dad is the only one with 2 colon/bladder, two aunts with breast cancer, as well as an uncle with breast cancer. Now she has to know, lol! She said she wants to track down her cousins and see how many are affected with cancer and their kids, just to see how far down it may have traveled. None of her siblings have been affected by cancer yet, but one as been affected with the gene mutation that causes club foot (it runs on my maternal gma's side).
As for me, who knows. I'm so over all of these test and pokes. I just wish they would figure out the cause of "the giantor" lol.0 -
Saw the breast surgeon again yesterday, and she completely dismissed me. All my scans are/were clear, I follow up with the geneticist on the 14th.
Good news, I guess.
I still can't shake this primal gut feeling that something is seriously wrong. Really really wrong.
I understand that she is the specialist, but I also know my body.
I just don't know what to do.0 -
Hello, Ashley. I'm new to this board, here on behalf of my sister who developed symptoms related to IBC over the course of a month. I'm so, so sorry for all the delays and red tape you've been made to deal with, because, believe me, we've been there with my sis, who is only a few years older than yourself.
It really burns me how dismissive so many doctors can be, but I have faith you'll come into the right hands. I'll be praying for you, for my sister, and for everyone woman on this board.
