Bagsharon , nobody needs to leave . This is a great thread for support and friendship . Let's just keep it to those topics . The problem with this election is you don't know who voted for whom . You don't know who you are hurting with posts and it's not worth friendships . I have seen long term relationships end over this election .

I had 3 wires which they placed using mammogram and one with US . I had injection of radioactive material to locate the snb . I almost passed out from the mammogram because they squeezed so tight . The radiologist decided to do a full series before the surgery because I didn't have a full set sent from the place that diagnosed my cancer . I overheard the radiologist talking about the mammogram to the tech while I was in the machine . He saw the lymphovascular invasion .

I had the wire place right before surgery. I told the story that I saw the wire and asked do they just leave it sticking out and they said no they had a cover... It was like a red solo cup they taped to my chest and then I had the surgical gown on over it to go back upstairs to the surgery center. I laughed and said I felt like Madonna! The wire didn't bother me as much as the 5 or injections of radioactive dye. They did numb the breast for the wire.

Hi all!!!! Haven't posted in a long time, but get on every few days to read posts. I simply can't keep up anymore since my job is trying to kill me!!! LOL!!!! Hi to all the new people, prayers to all still going through surgeries, radiation, chemo. Congrats to all who have finished!!!!! Yal are all such great people, please don't let division ruin that!!!! I have great difficulty with intercourse since my hysterectomy, deal with pain during. Should have seen my husband's face when I picked up the lubricant while shopping and told him that if he ever wanted to have anymore fun, he would have to use it LOL!!!! He didn't want to stand in the check out line with me, but he sure uses it lol,!!!! Sorry if this offends anyone, but thought I would make yal laugh!!!!!

On a more serious note, I just ask for prayers from any who are willing as I go for first post radiation mammogram on December 2nd and check up this Wednesday to have a lump under my arm checked out. I have felt it for almost 3 weeks now and just pray its fibrocystic and not swollen lymph node. It's well below where the sentinel nodes were removed, so hoping they didn't take out the wrong nodes, that the cancer cells didn't spread to a different set of nodes than the dye went to. Hugs to all!!

LovingGrouches, I'm with you while you get your lymph node checked and your mammogram. I've had a swollen node for many years (in my opposite underarm). Nothing shows. Thanks for sharing about your love life. We need to know that there solutions that do work for some of us!

    HUGS!

I had 2 wires placed prior to surgery (an hour or two). Thankfully they used lots of Lidocaine. I had the same procedure about 10 years before and it was awful. I swore to never have another. This time it was much much better. My surgeon gave me Lidocaine before injecting the dye for the lymph nodes and that was painless, too. Walking to the operating room was great!

Molly-re: painful intercourse...after trying a few things (I miss my estrogen ring!), I started using replens vaginal moisturizer. It comes in pre filled syringes and you just insert. Lasts a couple of days. Inaddition I prefer Astroglide as a lubricant when intimate. The combination of the two make things so much more comfortable!!!

katz, I also forgot to mention I use replens also. Between that and the lubricant, it works pretty well!!!!! I have heard that some women also alternate coconut oil, but haven't tried it yet.

OK - now that I've added my 2 cents on the sex question (sorry...had to be a priority, lol), time to admit I have have missed the last 18 pages of posts. Here's my attempt at catching up.

Welcome to all of the newbies, you've landed on a great thread...

Michelle - Congrats on finishing rads. Now on to recovery and a lot more fun.

Jill - CUBA?? So jealous. Such a great adventure!

Grazy - prayers for you and your DS. Hoping your back feels better soon.

Sandy - glad to hear your surgery is over. And those Cubbies. That series was so awesome!

Alice - Hair and eyelashes?? You must be doing your happy dance. Nice that you are able to enjoy your hikes and increasing energy.

Poodles - congrats on your path report.

KD - Happy unbirthday :-( Worst. Timing. Ever. Sending hugs.

SueWP-Sorry about the need for chemo, but you have the support of many herewho have travelled the same journey. On the topic of Arimidex...I have been taking it for 6 months now with only mild hot flashes as the only SE.

5 days out from 2 lumpectomies and SNB and I feel great. Taught an art class that has been in the works for awhile, refuse to change my life for this, my sister helped with the heavy lifting. SNB site is healing well and getting some feeling back in right nipple. Hopefully the paths report shows nothing new and I can start rads asap. Still having some issues sleeping.

Best wishes for everyone with their burdens this week!!!

ArtyMom, glad you are doing so well! They won't let you start rads until you are pretty well healed. It can be uncomfortable holding your arms above your head for 10-15 if you're not.

PontiacPeggy: still frantically trying to ketchup with various breast cancer boards.....but EEP! cleaning jags are an indicator of pregnancy?

(bursts out laughing) I know what you mean though. I went through a cleaning jag this summer. Found about twenty size-0 bamboo double-pointed knitting needles, two dishtowels and about 500 sq. meters of floor space I'd forgotten I had. Then I started back to school, just for bleeps and giggles, and have been occupied with facing down young sprats who might be my children. The faculty, that is....

Bagsharon, we talk about everything... usually breast topics, sometimes other things... but don't go, I enjoy coming here and getting the support and sometimes offering it, no one should feel like they can't be here... this is a time when it's so good to just interact, get advice... share something hilarious... we would miss you

QueenMomCat, I'm having a hard time envisioning cleaning with ketchup....autocorrect is so helpful :) Lordy, I sure hope cleaning is not a sign of pregnancy. It would be beyond miraculous! But back in the day that's what they said. Glad you found all that space! Good luck with the sprats!

    Judy, you are absolutely right!

Sorry, I think that might be a joke from another board....but that said, I'm the sort that might actually inadvertently clean with ketchup.

LOL, KB. I totally read that wrong. I saw your hubby's pulled back muscle as pulled-back "muscle". I'm sitting here thinking, what's wrong with his "muscle"? LOL. Just one more example of the slightly dirty posts we all love and cherish, I gues.

Lorri I never wore a sports bra at any stage, was told I could wear anything I was comfortable in, so I was back in underwires within a few days. If you haven't had a SNB there isn't anything to dig in under your arm, so anything that feels supportive is probably okay unless you're planning on jiving!

I don't think I'd have been up for any dancing, but a chance to dress up and feel normal for a bit might be good for you and the DH, so long as you can sneak away if you get tired.

LOL on mixing up the Voltaren gel and Astroglide. In Europe, you can also get Voltaren as a spray. Unfortunately, the bottle is exactly the same size, shape and color as that for Singer’s Saving Grace throat spray. One year I was at a folk music conference in the Catskills and had packed both bottles because my back & knees were bothering me and I was fighting off a scratchy throat. When warming up a couple hours before a hotel-room showcase, I reached into my tote for the throat spray and spritzed twice. It tasted awful and burned like hell. Panicked, I looked at the label and realized it was the Voltaren! I gargled and spat for what seemed like an eternity. Fortunately, no harm done…..and it seemed to work better than the Singer’s Saving Grace. But I don’t plan to try it again. Don’t try this at home, kids.

My cousin Carol passed away this morning at 3am. She had been fighting TNBC for about 18 months. Never got off chemo. Her family was able to care for her at home until the end, with hospice support. They are understandably exhausted and grief-stricken. I'm not sure whether I'll be able to go--they live in Raleigh, NC, and I live in Atlanta, GA, so it's about an 8hr drive.

Please send up prayers or good energy when you think of Carol today.

LOL @ poodles!! ha ha ha!! The pulled muscles almost made me spit out my tea. Lorri, I think you could make it with the understanding that you can leave whenever you feel tired.

Edited to add: Poodles I am so sorry for your loss. My prayers are with your family.

Poodles, sending lots of love your way and to Carol's family. I'm glad she was surrounded by family when she made her transition. HUGS!

Sandy, I'm totally repulsed by your mistake. It would have freaked me out. Glad you survived!

Judy, my PCP took me off Prilosec saying it was bad for my kidneys so I'm taking generic Pepcid 150 x 2.
