Foots, explain to this clown Faith is a service dog who is working, and allowed to be there. His is not, and his is distracting yours from doing her job. If that doesn't work, call the manager, cops

Spookie is right. Starbucks is a restaurant. Dogs not allowed inside unless service dog. What is Starbucks doing allowing this?  Manager should have told the guy to remove his puppy.

    Cute dog pics!!

    Such great pictures!

Foots, I would call the manager at Starbucks before you go next time. There is no reason at all that you should have to put up with that. Better yet, give me the number....I will call!! This kind of stuff irritates me.

Great pictures. Foot's I would contact the manager. Maybe dog's are allowed in Starbucks, but the dog needs to be on leash and the guy needs to respect space. Most places have leash laws.

Thanks I will check with the call number, They are only

to be service dogs. But people lie and a tiny puppy cant

    be a service dog.

I'm all for having Pet's in stores.

What irritates me is when they don't follow leash laws and control their pets.

I know they have vests for service dogs that say they are working, please do not pet.

I'm not sure if that would help in this instance.

We had an instance not too long ago in our town where a gentleman brought his dog into one of the home improvement stores. He let this dog go up to a little girl, and the dog bit her. He didn't even stop to see if she was ok. He got out of the store quickly. They ended up arresting the guy. He just recently got six months house arrest.

I think pet owners should be more responsible. My dogs go nowhere without being on a leash, and being controlled around people and other pets.

I agree. My dog never is left unattended when he is outside for a potty call and when he goes with us wherever we are going, he is on a leash.

I'm fine with having dogs in stores, but they need to be under leash control, or riding in a cart, or something.  Many people are afraid of dogs and it is not fair to them to have some strange dog walking up to them. Slow:  I'm glad they arrested that man. I'm sure he left quickly hoping to avoid just that!

Footsprint: does your dog have a "service dog" vest?   That way people should know to leave her alone.  Except for the stupid people anyway.

the thing is, "service dog" credentials can be bought on line for a. Few hundred $. There is no training for the dog. That really makes it hard for those who need the dogs services. By law, businesses can't ask many questions. Nobody would say anything about a Seeing Eye Dog in harness. Not all of us have visible disabilities. There is always a few who try to scam the rules, and it irritates me no end

That is insane that there is a way people can make a mockery of something like this.

It is. I saw a Pappillion in a restaurant, and a toy poodle in another. I checked out the "credentials" the dogs were wearing. Both had been purchased on line.

I hate leaving Spookie at home, but I couldn't do this. It just makes life so much more difficult for those who truly have a need.

Agree with you.  The little dogs get classified as "emotional support" dogs.  And I am sure that some people really need them.  People with PTSD, kids with autism, etc,,, but it is terribly over used.

My dog has a service vest, a do not pet sign on color and leach.

with all the other stuff needed to show she is been to the doc for

shots and pet lis tags. I don't understand how people can lie about

dogs and ride them where children sit without a cover. But that's just me.

Faith is still doing ok, But I just say she is work right now, she cant be bothered.

I am trying to teach Faith talking with hands and she is doing well, Do es

anyone know were I can find a card to help me, if I have trouble breathing

she knows I need her with my hands. Thanks Debbie and Faith

Foots I hope someone can let this man know his puppy is not welcome in Starbucks.  Clearly it is not a service dog.

It infuriates me to no end when people fake these things.  A service dog is trained to do a job.  The title is well earned.  People willing to fake that just to bring their dogs to s store should be fined, and harshly.  I know it is impossible to enforce unfortunately.  To me it is like seeing a healthy person pull into a handicapped space and pull out the wheelchair sign.  It probably is for a parent or grandparent, so to use that sign because you are lazy is ridiculous.  All of these people should be deeply ashamed of themselves.

We had a visit from an assistance dog charity as work earlier this year and it was stressed how these dogs must be left to do their job when they were on duty. When they put on their vests they know it is work time and their training is very extensive and expensive. I love my little boston and would love to take her everywhere but would never attempt to pretend she was a service dog. It would just be plain wrong - like the guy I saw park in the disabled spot (with a sticker) and then RUN up the flight of steps to go over the bridge to the other side! .

On the funnier side there was an item in the newspaper last week about a passenger that had to be removed from a flight because his emotional support pig pooped in the cabin. I am sorry if he really needed that pig but I confessed I laughed until I cried.

On a different note, I am not Catholic but I found it very comforting and uplifting that Pope Francis said he believed that pets went to heaven and we would see them again. A heaven with no pets would be no heaven at all.

    Lyzzys,

I agree about our furbabies going to heaven. I lost my beloved 7 yr old furbaby that is in my avatar to kidney failure a month ago. I know that Charcoal's in heaven waiting for his family to join him there.

Mommyof2, I am so sorry you lost your precious Charcoal. Our furbabies bring us such joy with their love and innocence. I would be lost without Lyzzy and I do hope that I will see my little Devon Rex Larry and tabby Lotte again one day. Lotte passed over 30 years ago and Larry over 20 but I still think of them.

I"m not Catholic either, but I think I like this Pope.  Heaven would not be heaven without the furbabies.

lyzzy I feel the same way.  Love mine to the moon and back and hate being away from them when I have to be.  Still I would never pretend they are anything other than what they are....kids with four legs!  Mine are both ten now and I dread thinking about losing them.  I too loved what Pope Francis said.  I am not Catholic either but love this pope!  What a kind way to ease that poor boy's pain.  It cheered me to no end!

Thanks for sharing the piggy story.  OMG I needed a good laugh.

Mommy I know how much you are reeling over the loss of Charcoal.  Big hugs Sweetie.

Now the news is saying Pope didn't say it. Well, they can't have the world abuzz with this, so they have to retract it. Grrrrr

I heard that saying once, "If dogs don't go to heaven I'm not going there either!" I also think if dogs aren't there, then it can't BE heaven.
