I saw an article with pictures of cute animals snuggling with their favorite toys so here are a few of my favorites. I think they embody the title of this thread.

Hi all,
I have been reading this thread for many years, thanks for all the laughs!
We are renovating an old home and the next door neighbor passed away last year and their cat was not taken in by anyone. The new homeowner feeds her but doesn't want her. The cat hangs out with us while we work on the house and she of course had kittens about 5 weeks ago in my shed. Anybody know at what age kittens can be given away to new homes?

Six to eight weeks. Eight is better. Our shelter keeps them 12 weeks so they can be spayed and neutered before adoption. One kitten can drive you crazy wanting to play. If people get two, they can play with each other. Try to get the Mom spayed.

Thanks wren! I'm a dog person and don't know about cats. And I have never had a pet give birth. We are planning to ask the neighbors if we can have the mother cat and get her spayed. Giving away the kitties is going to be hard.. I'm looking for a no kill shelter.

Willowreed, Don't worry about the kittens. They are born only in warm weather and it's the beginning of kitten season. People come in all the time asking if we have any at the shelter. In August, it might be more difficult, but right now there's a pent up desire.
