Awwwh! Love pandas. We're keeping our fingers crossed that our Mama is having another cub this year. Meanwhile, I need to get back to our Mei-hem twins.

Scottie, beautiful pic. So how long did it take to get the dog to stay put. LOL How is your PT coming along?

Barbe, the Canon 50x zoom is a camera.

Lisa, love your flowers. I have such a soft spot for Pandas. Those are the cutest things. Makes me want to take one home. LOL

Nancy, the one your sister bought is very different even if it has a 50x.lens.

I now have the Canon SX60HS with a 65 optical zoom but I bought it for the WiFi.

Nancy,, I could stand and watch the Pandas for hours. The problem is that the Pandas place is quite a walk for me and coming back is all up hill. So I don't get there very often.

Lisa, that 60x zoom came out the very next month when I bought my 50x zoom. I would like that little extra reach but at this point I have spent a small fortune on my new camera, new macro lens and just ordered a newer sturdier tripod and head which hopefully will come this week before I go back down to my moms so I will have to stick with my 50x. Yes when my sister told me the model number of her new camera I looked it up and realized it is much different than the ones we have. She likes the fact that it only has the viewfinder but I would not want that for myself. My GI issues are still around but I am feeling much better in general after battling for weeks this illness that no one ever seemed to know what it was.

I would have trouble doing a lot of walking period too so you are doing well to get out with your camera. I am a swimmer but have not been able to swim for several weeks. I have toyed with joining the Brookfield Zoo. I actually haven't been to a zoo in many years. Yes, I could watch those Pandas for hours too. So cute.

I am looking forward to swimming once my pool warms up. I taught it for 40 years when I wasn't doing other stuff. I am trying to figure out what strokes I can do with my broken arm .I guess I could invent some

When I had a illness no one could figure out it was my gallbladder. So for 2 years I just suffered.

Medical diagnosis is an art as well as a science.

When do you get the new tripod?

Perfection!!! Have either of you considered an electric scooter or cane? I have both in my arsenal as well as a walker. The walker is what makes me feel the oldest.... Does the zoo not have scooters available for rent? Get to your location, get out and get your shots and back in. I have no pride left at all when it comes to getting somewhere. I even use them in Walmart on my bad days.

Beautiful LIsa. Can you tell their cousins to fly on in to the Midwest any day now! I guess regarding the doctors that is why they call it practicing medicine. I decided to go to my alternative side and started some digestive enzymes that I get through my muscle therapist. It sort of acts like a a slow and continual colonoscopy prep. Gee doesn't that sound like fun. LOL

If you taught swimming all those years you have probably seen it all. I have had a neck surgery and lost some range of motion in my neck. My goal I had set for myself for retirement was to become a lap swimmer. The only problem was I didn't know how to swim and because of an incident in the Gulf of Mexico when I was 17 made me terribly fearful of deep water. One of my doctors suggested swimming with a snorkel. I remember thinking that is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. I said there is one problem, I don't know how to swim. My last year of teaching I decided why wait on my goal of becoming a lap swimmer so I took swim lessons. It was apparent that my lack of range of motion was making things very difficult and I already bought a snorkel and could swim with it eventually. My teacher said your goal is exercise and you can do that with the snorkel. So I swim laps with a snorkel and had to overcome the deep water on my own as my teacher left the Y before we could deal with that. So with goggles, cap and the snorkel no one can tell who I am but at this point I don't care. It works no matter what it looks like.

I hope you will be able to use your pool soon. I see ladies at the Y who have obviously had a stroke somehow manage to swim with limited movement in one arm. Hopefully you can figure something out. Our weather has been so crazy that I don't know if spring will ever come to stay. We might just jump right into summer without having much of a spring.

You are taking great pictures especially considering your arm. Keep up the good work. BTW My new ballhead is coming tomorrow and the tripod legs coming hopefully on Thursday. It has a quick release head. i can't wait to try it out. I will be going to my mom's for three weeks soon and I hope the equipment gets here before I leave.

Barbe, I was thinking of a scooter at the zoo. I would thinkthat the ones they have there can make it up the hills. They also have a bus you can get a day ticket for. Not cheap of course. I have a membership for the zoo so I can get in and out for a little while. Mostly I just visit one or two of the animals.

Nancy you must take a photo of the tripod.

BTW, I got into lifeguarding and teaching swimming in high school because someone grabbed me from behind out on Lake Michigan in deep water. I almost drowned so I took lessons. I did it for pay during high school and college, but as a volunteer all the years later.

awww, not sure if the polar bear is happy or sad for the carrots!!

I took swimming lessons as an adult and still can't lay flat in the water, my legs drop too far. Now that I've lost my buoyancy I'm sure it will be even worse. I just like to float on a noodle. That's good enough for me.

I have fallen asleep many times just floating on my back. I guess I can say that I am super comfortable in the water. As long as I am warm.

Polar bears look so cute and innocent. Hard to believe they are dangerous.

I doubt if i could fall asleep in the water. With my snorkel I can't lay on my back. I have an underwater ipod and it is all hooked together.

Yes, Lisa, I would be glad to take a pic of the new tripod. I got the ballhead today and will have to look that over and how to attach the plate to my camera for the quick release feature. I had picked out an expensive tripod but it was out of stock. I opted for the one that was about $200 less but should do the job just fine. It is hopefully going to come tomorrow. The next day after I ordered the tripod legs the one I wanted came back into stock. I guess it wasn't meant to be. I was well over a pound heavier anyway so probably just as well. I had talked to a customer service guy about the specs because I want one where the legs will splay out where you can get very low to the ground. I hope that in the reviews and the Q & A section they were correct because I was getting two different stories. I am hoping the guy I talked to was wrong as to how low the legs will go but we'll see. I wanted something eye level as well. I have been using a remote control lately so I don't have to touch the camera at all once it is focused.

Joanne, he or she does look like they are saying grace.

Wow, Lisa. What is that? Just beautiful. I just got to my mom's on Tuesday and will be here for three weeks. I had an issue with my new tripod trying to get it setup so they sent a replacement and I had it sent to my mom's. It just came today and I have not even had time to open the box yet. I can't wait to see how it all comes together with the new ballhead. I hope to have a few times of going out with my camera. We'll see.

Well I must be taking after you Lisa. I fell at my mom's in the middle of the night. My cat woke me up getting ready to be sick on my bed. I went to an urgent care place today as I thought my wrist might be fractured but I don't think so. I opted to wait on xrays as the wrist was better today. Never a dull moment when I am at my mom's. There are poppies growing across the street from my mom's and no one is living at this place. I have been so tempted to go over there and taking some pics but sure enough as I would do that the owner who is fixing the place up would show up and wonder what in the world.

I am seeing some butterflies but no Monarchs yet. Can't wait for them. Nice pic.

I Figure I Can Take pictures by the front walk and driveway. If I need to get somewhere closer, I ring the doorbell and ask. Sometimes they even invite me to the backyard to take some. One had really nice roses, so I printed a couple up for them.

So sorry you fell. I really hope for the best for you. I can't remember if I told you the doctor says one or two more operations for my arm. I am bummed.

Lisa and Bandwoman. . .Hugs to you both. Sometimes it seems like we are forever recovering.

Today is my 23rd anniversary. Yesterday Dh and I went on a field trip to a North GA museum with an observatory. Our astronomy club was on site for their version of national astronomy day. They have telescopes that out mine to shame and we got awesome views of the sun with the flames shooting out.

What really excited me though was my discussion with two members about Canon macro lenses. I need 1k to but the lens I want for both high speed sports photography and astrophotography. The same lens will allow me to expand into macro photography as well.

Meanwhile, it's time to hook my camera and current lenses to my telescope for a night of experimental photos.

JO-5, they sure do look like wild Violet's now that you mention it. They are a vine, we also have the wild Violet's but ours are close to ground.

Thanks ladies. Lisa I am sure sorry that you have to have two more surgeries. No wonder you are bummed. I went to an urgent care type of place yesterday and the PA that looked at my wrist thought it was not broken. I opted out of the xray but if it still hurts I will have one. Since I am three hours away from home the insurance issue was looming and are they in or out of network and all of that stuff. Anyway my wrist is a bit more sore today than yesterday but I am hoping it will heal quickly. I was able to get my tripod up and working this evening so that was a relief. Now I am itching to use it.

Lori, we are probably not that far away from each other and probably have similar wildflowers. I hope to get out at my mom's downstate where I am staying for a few weeks and go to some nature trails to try out my new macro lens more. I will especially look for those flowers. Very pretty ones. Love your toad too. The last few years I have had little toads hang around my patio. Cute little things.

Scottie, happy anniversary! Sounds like a fun field trip. My new macro lens was about 1K but I have barely broke it in dealing with weeks of sickness, I am doing much better now except the fall the other day. We have had so much rain and more coming this week, This hobby can drain your bank account if you let it! I am enjoying the macro so far the little I have done so far. Now that I have a brand new ballhead and nice tripod which will make thing much easier I hope it will be easier on my neck. My Nikon macro lens is supposed to be a very nice portrait lens as well. So many things to explore.

Barbe, are you at all near the danger of the wildfires? Sounded awful with the devastation. So sad.

Joanne, We had a rather nice day in general today so maybe you will get that weather tomorrow, We are supposed to have a few more days of rain,. They had no heat in my mom's church and it was cold inside. They have an old boiler that was turned off for this time of year.

Scottie, your telescope sounds very interesting, So many areas of photography to explore.

    Have a good week ladies.
