Still got more to come. Looks like I won't have to water the garden for at least a couple of days. Finally getting some rain this morning.

Well Ladies - just saw this topic - thought I would chime in - it's my first year I'm back in my garden since my DX. We have had 4 good meals of green beans. Tomatillos have there little bulbs - some have the tomatillo growing and some are hollow. Tomatoes are all green still. Have a tree full of apples - Our squash isn't doing well - I have only gotten 2 squash. Corn is growing no tassels yet and grape jelly grapes are going hog wild.

Unfortunately, I ended up with a little tendonitis in my left wrist and had a cortisone injection last week. So all my gardening is one-handed at the moment.

HI Gma Foley. Welcome to the group! I am envious of your fresh green beans and MOmmys as well. Mmmmmmm I have a friend who has posted pictures of the two bushels she has now picked. I don't have much luck here with beans because once our heat turns on it scorches almost eveything

Lucy, that is a gorgeous area!

Gardennerd, I may have to use your idea and try to grow my lettuce in the winter. We do get pretty cold here at times but maybe a row cover would help. Fresh lettuce is the best

Gma Foley, Good to see you again. It sounds like you have a fair-sized garden. DH always plants corn, but so few that he has to pollinate with a paintbrush. We were pretty surprised last year to get 4 decent ears from the tiny patch.

I can't remember - there are 5 different types - think gala, granny smith, yellow delicious and ?? - I usually have so many we put them in a pot, put them through a strainer and make apple sauce or freeze them for pie.

    Yum!

I have 3 small trees (Rambo, White Permain and Bernais), but deer and disease seem to get them all. I may have to spray next spring.

Trying to keep garden watered - going to be somewhere around 115 at our place this week. My LE isn't gonna like that.

Jazzygirl - LOVE the sunflower pic. Brought a smile for the morning. The website was a good reminder of how gardening is good for us. I often think of my gardening as my sanctuary. I don't look at is as the four letter word "w-o-r-k". The site reminded me of all the physical aspects of it. Gardening is like mothers natures yoga, it provides mental and physical stretching.

Loving all the other pics from everyone. I just love the pics!!

Waving hello to everyone! I've been in the basement tossing out junk and rearranging my tool box. Such fun!

I see we are all getting great veggies from our gardens. My straw bale garden has gone wild! I have tomato plants that are so big and full of tomatoes that I have to prop them up with t-posts. Loving everyone's pictures. I'll be back later to catch up on all the posts, looks like a few pages lol

My straw bale garden! Wild and very successful. I'll be doing it again next year!

Haven't been out to my garden since yesterday to water it. This afternoon we have been getting thunderstorm after thunderstorm. At least I won't have to water it tomorrow.

Gotta check the garden when I go to hang out hubby's laundry today. Hopefully the rain a couple of days ago helped it.

No rain in sight here. It has been 111 and 113 the last 2 days and fires south of us, so the air is full of smokey haze. It is supposed to cool off today but the house never cooled off last night.

    Good Morning Everyone!

I so enjoy reading about your gardens and seeing your pictures.

My cherry and grape tomatoes continue to produce. Zucchini plants are dead and I had them pulled up. Cucumbers look like they are about ready to stop. That is good as I have about a dozen quarts of pickles and there are only 2 of us! I have 5 cantaloupes still growing. Carrots should be ready in about a week. Herbs continue to do well as do 3 of 4 bell pepper plants and my salsa peppers.

I made pesto yesterday from the garden's basil. The house smelled so good. Unfortunately, I think I killed my Nija in the process.

I planted white radish seeds about 2 weeks ago and they are doing great.

I am thinking about buying other seeds and seeing if they will come up before fall hits. Betting they will.

Keep playing in the dirt. I read an article that cancer patients who garden eat better and are healthy.
