Hi Shortfi!! Nice to know you are doing ok and enjoy

Real Sleep Molly - what's that? LOL I end up getting up to pee at least 5 times a night.

Ok, I am playing the "Pass the buck" with the doctors. I phoned my MO's office yesterday to ask for an alternative to mammogram and he said to ask the surgeon... Well, I see him next week but the last time I asked him, he said to ask my MO. Now what??? I'm tired of being a ping pong ball on the phone....

Awoke from that nap yesterday feeling like I was wearing a full-body iron girdle, with a headache and low-grade fever (99.2--I’m usually 97.6). Had a coffee to deal with the headache. Headache abated but my fever spiked to 100.3, so at 8 pm I took 1000 mg. of Tylenol along with my Claritin (and about a gallon of water). Fever went down to 99.7, so I made myself an egg-in-the-hole for dinner (had a slice of veggie vegan pizza for lunch), and then at 1 am took my first Lyrica and my Arthritis Tylenol to go to sleep. At bedtime, I was back down to 98.9. My little black kitty Heidi decided to help me sleep--most nights, she climbs onto my chest and goes into the full “resting meatloaf position” (cartoonist B.Kliban’s term), purrs and head-butts my face until she thinks I’ve kissed her enough and I’ve been sufficiently comforted, then moves to the side of the bed or jumps down so I can turn over. Last night she was even more lovey-dovey--slept on my hip after I turned over.

Fever was 99.5 this morning. Taking care of headache with coffee. Actually got a full 8 hrs of sleep--probably the Lyrica, which kept enough of the "cattle prods" at bay that I could sleep. My hand paresthesias are gone too (first time in quite a while). Chest & back muscles still stiff & sore, so I took my Arthritis Tylenol (1300 mg.) this morning. My MO's nurse called this morning and said I should keep daily Tylenol intake under 3000 mg, so I should take the Tylenol only twice a day. She says I can take one of the Lyrica in early evening so long as I'm not going to drive or drink alcohol. (I deliberately planned the Zometa so that I have four uninterrupted days to do utterly nothing, so if I have to go anywhere, it'll be on foot or via Uber, or else I'm staying put). As to the fever, if it spikes above 100.5 in between Tylenol doses, I should call her office. She says it's definitely the Zometa and not a cold or flu. Sinus congestion, but we're deep into hay fever season and the mold count spikes after every rain. She says I can ride this out and should be back to normal by the weekend. But at my MO followup we will discuss the next Zometa, and she will once again appeal to my Part D carrier--citing fragile veins that make IVs difficult, as well as my severe reaction--to cover Prolia instead. Fingers crossed. If we win >$30,000 in the lottery, of course, that'd cover the 3 years of Prolia out-of-pocket.

Feeling MUCH better--thanks, Lucy! Fever finally broke and temp is normal. Have my appetite back, but I need to not go overboard. So for breakfast, a soft-boiled (actually, coddled) egg and toast; lunch was a small homegrown tomato stuffed with tuna salad, on a bed of arugula with a citrus (orange olive oil, lemon white balsamic) vinaigrette. Had 2 coffees plus an espresso today, so I think I'll do seltzer instead.

Shorfi, enjoy the beach! GMA, I count pee breaks as part of my sleep--sometimes I can even resume my dreams when I crawl back into bed. Been that way ever since I was pregnant at 33!

I think the VIP list is truly the list of women who have provided great support, common sense advice, great research advice, and once in awhile a snap back to reality approach. A better VIP list couldn't have been made!

Congratulations to Mayor Slow/Beppy! Sending love.....

Spent the day down in Bakersfield visiting my sister who is still in rehab (following an aneurism in early summer). She will probably be there another month. I see progress, but it is slow. Home again now after tearing up the 99, I think I will rest on the couch with a drink.

    Love to all the crazies!

I saw our ChiSandy is a VIP, too!

    Congrats to Chi and Slow!

I've been on vacation. Zion and Bryce National Parks with the family. All of the kids came, including the oldest who wanted to stay home. I did my best to keep up on the hikes, but went on smaller hikes by myself two days so the boys and my DH could go on more strenuous hikes. I'm sore from hiking and happy I was able to do so much. All of the pets are good. Our pool turned green while we were gone and there are piles of stinky laundry to be washed. And school starts Monday. I love traveling and am glad I got to share Zion and Bryce with my kids.... just as my dad shared them with my brothers and me.

Poppy, what a wonderful vacation! Lake Michigan is pretty, but Chicago is sooooo FLAT! Seven years in Seattle plus growing up in Brooklyn (and summers in the Shawngunks & Catskills) have turned me into a “terrain freak.” I must get periodic fixes of hills, valleys, peaks, canyons & rock formations or I will go into a boredom funk. My idea of “landscape” and “scenery” must include variations in altitude--not the manmade ones either.

hi ladies. How did I miss the crazy thread. Maybe, possibly, not sure, but I think some people think I am crazy. I call it funny things I do...sounds so much better doesn't it. Like tomatoe throws, color runs, archery classes, just because...would love to do bubble soccer , but these bones might not make it. None of that sounds crazy..just fun, and why not. Even tried curling. I won't be joining any teams soon. Thought it would be like bowling...not so much..kinda the ice thing was a bit different...lol

Love to,hear the crazy things you do

    Sweet dreams

Hi, susan3, from 50 mi. to your southeast. I had considered curling, but Canadian friends of mine warned me it can be pretty rough on the knees if you’re throwing the stone and on your back if you’re a sweeper. Plus I’m terrified of sliding on ice--that’s how I tear ligaments & break bones.

Hi all, haven't posted in a while. DD is typing for me. had a minor stroke was in hospital for a few days.

I had a terrible pain in my lower left arm, then started slurring my speech. Dh called 911 and it was a blur. No high blood pressure or heart problems, so it was a surprise. A vein blew out in that arm, and that's why I had the pain, it was on my masectomy side. they had to make sure there were no tumors pressing on something causing the symptoms. though scary at least it ruled out cancer.

I feel a little weak on that left side, and will have therapy. Ugh.Good news is had scans on everything and NO CANCER. Funny how a stroke is good news, compared to cancer. I'm only 56, so who knows why.

Valstim: Better get gussets for your pocket there, missy. 'cause I expect there's gonna be a LOT LOT LOT of us in there. Stroke? Sheesh. Eep

Susan3: welcome to CrazyTown, the ever-expanding neighborhood. There's an inn/B&B, where we can stay for a calm vacation, with a porch for when we feel sociable or just want a breeze, and a treehouse for when we're feeling like we need a place to hide. For you, I think I'll add a greasy spoon diner within walking distance of the CrazyTown Inn. Let me see if I can come up with a plausible welcome basket for you....
