Iris ..funky purple wig sounds like fun. :-)
Octo ..it's great that your recovery is going so well !!!

Iris, great call on getting a "fun" wig as well as a "normal" one.
Octo, glad you're home with help from your family and managing your pain. Will you be starting with a visiting PT or going out to a clinic?
The exercises will be tough, and you may feel frustrated, stiff, sore and resent having to use a cane for a while. But then there will come a time when you will wonder why you waited so long to get this done! (And if you travel, don't be too proud to ask for a wheelchair, especially if it speeds you through TSA at departure and Passport Control on arrival)!

well went to home depot for stuff for my bathroom, need to get leak fixed so might as well fix it all

Iris: (blinks, bemused) Forgive me if I find the juxtaposition of information in your previous messages to be an interesting, and amusing, thought experiment. That said, I can see an afternoon spent in Home Depot to be a much-needed diversion from cancer treatment.

Bought an array of things to stuff into a huge vertical crack in the drywall of our front room (which until 40 years ago was part of the open front porch). First used rope caulk when we moved in, but as the crack has widened it fell out--and it gets darned cold in there! So I have foam rope, injectable foam and tape to cover it. Not looking forward to the task, especially as rehearsals and appts. are increasingly occupying my time.
Today I had my second DEXAScan (first was two yrs. ago just before starting radiation). Result was osteopenia. It'll be interesting to see just how much damage to my BMD has been done by letrozole (and Dexilant), vs. whether calcium citrate/D3/K2/Mg and first Zometa and then two Prolia treatments have put the brakes on that. I will be happy just to remain osteopenic rather than gone over the edge into osteoporosis. (Normal BMD is too much to ask).
Tomorrow, dental appt to reset and reattach the single-tooth "Maryland bridge" in my lower arch. (Years ago, a root-canaled lower incisor eventually split and had to be extracted, and those lower teeth have always been slightly mobile ever since two attempts at orthodontia). Corn on the cob and ribs on the bone probably had something to do with it going slightly askew. Since no bone will be exposed, no drilling need be done; so I will need neither pre-medication nor a local.
Wed., mani appt. Will tell my nail tech (the salon owner, who consults with podiatrists) about the ingrown toenail having come back less than two weeks after she last treated it, and how to manage until the next pedi in a bit more than two weeks. I've tried everything--training the nail to grow out and even podiatric surgery to shave off the exaggerated curve-under of the sides of my nail beds (hereditary, alas)--to no avail, so all we can do is to have the "barbs" periodically and sterile-ly extracted. Medicare wouldn't cover it done by a DPM unless I were diabetic, and I don't plan to become diabetic. So as long as the treatments come with scented-oil soaks, sugar scrubs, paraffin masks, calf massages and cool polish colors, I'll pay 100% out of pocket.

My first brioche.

That brioche is a thing of beauty! Sorry you are so busy Molly but glad you have time to do a bit of baking. Wish I could bake...maybe I should take it up (I am a very good cook, if I do say so myself. but have always lacked the patience for baking...)
Mommy, in your pocket for the echo.
Recovery is going well so far: I have been binge watching Netflicks (just went through The Crown over several days), and walking with the walker. Today is my first formal PT apt, I am nervous about it. Even the therapist said it would be painful. I can't get very far if I run away from it screaming.....:-(
0 -
Good luck with the PT!! Don't you love The Crown?
0 -
thanks! and Yes on The Crown! I wish there was another season to watch.....(Please tell me there is and I am just missing it thanks to the pain meds.. :-)

Octo - just one season so far of The Crown - I read another is coming soon. You could console yourself with Home Fires. Or Broadchurch, but that's pretty dark. Glad you're doing well.

I wish I could tell you there's another season but alas season two begins December 8th. This will be the current casts last season. Too keep from having to age the actors older actors will replace young ones. Makes me sad because I love Claire Foy.

Molly ..if you have a British obsession you would LOVE the TV series Victoria ..Starts when Victoria is an 18 year old and about to be crowned Queen ..I've nearly finished series 1 and series 2 is about to be realeased .It's every bit as good as The Crown .
Mommy ..glad to hear you don't have long to wait for your Echo .

On the outskirts of CrazyTown--last night I had two severe R foot/leg dystonia attacks, which abated only after taking a Lyrica. (It originates in the nerves--basal ganglia, not in the muscle). And in the shower I noticed a small red pimple just to the right of my cleavage. Natch, my mind is ominously murmuring "brain mets" and "IBC." But that kind of dystonia is usually idiopathic--or it may be another SE of letrozole. And sometimes, a zit is just a zit.

For fans of Brit shows - anyone watching Poldark on PBS? Looking forward to Victoria Season 2. Will have to check out The Crown. DH is a Brit and I am a long time devotee of PBS.

I used to love watching the British comedy Are You Being Served? The antics of the characters always made me laugh.
