Sorry Alyson I missed seeing your grandcat til just now... lovely tabby looking quite comfy on someone's lap I have a special place in my heart for tabbies since my first cat, given to me in my teens, was a wonderful affectionate tabby called Ruby. So grateful for her.

Maisie is such a pretty little thing. That was my lap , I was cat sitting while DD was away. DD is an opera singer and so often away. Maisie is quite happy for a day but does love visitors so I go around and have coffee there and talk to her. DD gets a house sitter if she is away for more than a few days. She has students who just love cat sitting Maisie.

Now, for the latest post that will make you squeal - Nugget's babies' eyes are starting to open...Nugget is the young tortie. That little tongue on the one in the back! And the hug in the front. Squeee!

Loving all the new kitten photos, thank you KiwiCatMom!
Alyson, Maisie is so lucky to have a wonderful grandcatmom like you. And so fortunate that your DD has so many willing cat sitters. We have had to board our cats a few times and it is sooooo stressful for them especially as they get older.

Again, here is a picture of my ds's cat stripes(who I call kitty). What you can't see in this picture is my 4 year old bouncing on the bed, having a dance party! Poor kitty. He really is one of the most patient cats I have ever seen. He never moved! Still here on the bed at 3:00am!

So many beautiful cats & kittens. And I love the cat & dog on 'their' beds
We had a lovely spring day here. Sun all day for the first time in ages. Everyone was making the most of it, including Minka who posed under the Kowhai tree.
( we won't mention she caught a tui (beautiful native bird) the other day, probably in this very tree )

Was Minka looking/hoping for wood pigeons? Beautiful kitty!

Alyson welcome! Deeply impressed that your DD is an opera singer as well as a cat lover!
My DD had to bring a photo of herself and a friend to school recently. Although she has plenty of human friends she opted for a photo of herself and our Arthur

What a great photo, Feline! How cute!
Alyson - I'm impressed too - opera singer! Wow!
Here's our poor Nitro, all stressed out. Note all the cat toys in the background of the photo.

Feelingfeline - That is a great photo, but I have to say that, based on his expression, Arthur is a very sweet, loving and patient kitty!

Oh wow Feelingfeline, that's a beautiful picture of your daughter and Arthur! Arthur is such a wonderful loving boy, I can see why your daughter thinks of him as her friend, so special!
Stripes being a very patient boy too and great company when insomnia hits.
KT, how lovely! You are having spring just as we start autumn! Minka obviously is celebrating too Minka is extra special being a female ginger, I'm sure you agree in more ways than one lol!!
Awwww Nitro, all played out! When we wake up and stroll from the bedroom thru the livingroom in the morning, there is a trail of cat toys from the area rug thru to the dining room and kitchen. Some toys that we haven't seen in a while suddenly appear, the cats obviously knew where they were lol!!

Ha! That reminds me of a story......
Theodore Roosevelt didn't put much stock in the obstructionist Congress of his day, so would often bypass them by signing Executive Orders to get what he wanted actually done. The Speaker of the House fumed, "The President of the United States has no more respect for the Constitution than a tom cat has for a marriage license!"

My FIL (from NC) has a great phrase for when you are trying to get a group of difficult people to get together on something:
"it's like herding cats"
