Petite, he is just wonderful. Such beautiful eyes. I wish you lived in San Francisco and I could be your petsitter!

Louie's daddy was a Siamese. I think that is where he got those pretty eyes. Love my fur babies.

Petite, Does your panther meow? I'm asking because we've had 2 black kitties who never meowed, including our current one. Sometimes his mouth clearly says meow but there's no vocolization.

Petite - Love your house panther!

All - Just came across the following book & thought I would share the book cover with all.

Title details for Pride and Prejudice and Kitties by Jane Austen - Wait list

PS - The cat on the book cover looks like my dear departed Ben, who used to quietly submit to my daughter dressing him up with all kinds of doll clothes.

Wren44, He has a little meow. He doesn't talk much. Miss Felix, the calico, talks too much. She use to have tiny little squeaks and tell me little cat secrets. Now, she meows a the top of her lungs. She is about 22 years old and has some cat dementia.

Petite, I'll bet she also has some hearing loss and doesn't know how loud she is.

Wren44 that is so weird you mentioned about no sound!! My fav cat ever was a runt black cat that had one eye punctured, she was the sweetest thing and I could hold her for hours. She would curl up with me under the blanket and come when I called her. She never got over 8 pounds. But she never meowed! Perfectly healthy even though blondin an eye. Lived 14 years. I had a tabby with her and the tabby never shut up though.

omg Petite! Your “house panther" looks so much like my Charcoal did. Princess is almost like that's but with gold eyes and medium length fur

Even though Spookie is a dog, she does that mouth thing too. Looks right at me, mouth opens as if to bark, nothing happens. Like she changed her mind. So funny to see.

Both kitties are lovers and like to sit on my lap. They can't get enough petting. They seem to know when I am down in the dumps and need a little cat love.

Little Bitty sleeps like Garfield the cat. Never had one do this before.

Rah2464, so cute! This morning there is a storm rolling in off the Gulf. It is dark as night. The cats and husband have gone back to bed. It is starting to thunder and Louie will move to under the bed.

Grace extends her back legs out fully and the tucks her head in. Princess does the classic “cat loaf” pose or lays on her side and extends her legs.

Thanks everyone! Little Bitty runs the house (the only female) and my husband. She tucks him in bed every night by cuddling up on his chest for a little while. He is definitely her human I am just the servant for this kitty. Her nickname is Petunia Picklebottom ha

Mommy "cat loaf" pose too funny!

Rah Little Bitty has such beautiful markings. She looks so comfy it makes me want to nap.

Spookiesmom this looks exactly like my kitty Doc. But he's 18 so more fragile. Still a handful tho.

Thanks Ladies! I will try and get a pic of Little Bitty's foot she has a heart in orange on one of them.

Spookiesmom - isn't that like a cat to take advantage of a sleeping opportunity??

FF - love that sweet Elliot's white paws! It is so relaxing just seeing how relaxed he is

Good morning, cat women. I love the pictures.

Rah2464, I would like to see the marking. Felix, my Calico, has an orange X on her shoulders. X marks the spot for the flea drop.

My kitty news: due to some travel my son took over kitty duties for me for about a week, and he is now TOTALLY in love with my kitties. (I guess they are now OUR kitties.) I needed to be out of the house for them to totally bond to him. It makes me so happy that he knows them, sees their individuality and quirks, etc. Now they run to him for greeting and sniffing when he walks in the door.

My two sisters were born in a creek bed to a feral Mom -- and though they are VERY personable thanks to fantastic fosterer, they still have some wild traits like a major sniff examination of their humans every time one of us comes home: shoes, hands, face, removed jacket, etc... all things that went outside get thoroughly nasally checked out. Also they both flinch and jump to their feet at any sudden noise, slammed door etc, like there is something dangerous afoot... Yet then they both relax again immediately. Super affectionate but that systemic wariness is still in them.

We have adopted out so many hard to place foster cats that the foster parents are in withdrawals. They sent an email this morning asking for foster parents for 2 cats. An hour and 20 minutes later they sent another that the foster parents had been found and that they appreciated all the emails they had received. This may be a record for adult placement time.
