Squeakers went to the vet yesterday for his annual exam and shots. He has gained 1.4 lbs this year. Can we say too many treats? He's really hard to haul up the vet's stairs. I've considered switching vets to get rid of those stairs. DH carried him; I don't think I could. She reported that he purred while she cut his nails. Quite a change from growls and teeth baring when we tried.

Good morning, Ladies. The cats and husband have gone down for the senior nap. Miss Felix was very upset that cat daddy slept in the wrong bed. She meowed for a long time last night. Now everyone is napping or ready to nap. It is hot and overcast, so maybe a nap is what I need.

Good morning, cat ladies. Poor Miss Felix had a cat dementia thing this morning. She was meowing at the top of her lungs with her face in the corner and her tail puffed up. She was 1/2" from the wall. Poor little thing. I petted her and she settled down, just purring away.

Petite, Can she see? We didn't realize our foster cat was blind for a long time. He was 18 and knew his way around the ground floor. It was actually the vet who mentioned it first. Cats can really conceal problems because they wouldn't make it in the wild if they didn't. There is also kitty dementia, which it could also be.

Cognitive disorder. Brain fog, chemo fog. Alzheimer’s.

(My Mom's dog has this!... he's an old Lab, 15, and he gets confused, and barks for no reason-- it sounds like he's alarmed, or trying to summon a person to "help", but often I happen to be right there when he's barking (facing away from me). Then if I touch him, he jumps-- having had no idea I was right there!)

Luckily my cats are youngsters. I will get demented before they do.

My dear departed Ben had this toward the end. It is sad to see this happen, but guess it may be the "way of all flesh", be it human or fur covered.

Our foster cat didn't meow in the corner but he would stand there for a long time. We thought perhaps it was soothing to have little stimuli.

Poor Miss Felix! So glad you were there to comfort her.

On another note, shop kitty (also known as Geraldine) was very unhappy last night. I thought she had been out all day, when in fact she was still inside (cozy and comfortable but not out in the sunshine like she wanted). When hubs got home around dinnertime he laughed and said she let him know her displeasure as soon as he walked into the shop, meowing and scolding him for a good five minutes ha Shop kitty is a stray that we doctored and set up working residence in our woodshop. She practically rules the farm and uses our black rail fencing as her "super highway" Many times I will look out if the grass is wet and watch her walk the top of the fence rail in order to keep her paws dry. Cracks me up.

Hi, Cat Ladies. Yes, Miss Felix has cat dementia. Once she sees or hears us, she seems to be OK. I think sometimes she is seeing things that are not there. Rah, shop kitty sounds like a nice addition. Is she a mouser?

I took a selfie with the plump cat the other day. Today I took selfies with the little girl cat. And so I realized I'm going nuts ;)

Nah you are just a confirmed cat lady like the rest of us. Anytime I look through my digital photos, I realize I have more photos of my cats than my grandkids. Although to be fair, my cats live with me and my grandkids are in California (3 of them) and Tennessee (the newest one). So I can't take spur of the moment photos of them.

    Together hahaha

Petite - yes shop kitty is a lovely mouser. She also unfortunately is a hunter of birds and baby rabbits. She is quite proficient.
