Beautiful black cat, Kiwi. I'll bet her kittens are adorable.

Kiwi, such a beautiful black mama cat, does she have a name yet? Her kittens are so wee!!!
Julie, whoa no, not for me. I had a gag gift given to me one time, a thong with "the arse is out of 'er" embroidered on the front. I had a laugh but didn't wear those either!!

Beautiful photo FeelingFeline! Such lovely eyes! Arthur looks puzzled though, maybe he's figuring that the camera is not such a scary thing after all )

What have ya'll heard about the DNA testing of cats to determine origin? It was a big genetic thing a bit ago. I haven't googled it, but figured you would know.

The cats fell into distinct groups, one of which included all domestic cats and the near eastern wildcat, suggesting the two were linked. The other cats fell into four groups including the European wildcat, the central Asian wildcat, the sub-Saharan African wildcat and the Chinese desert cat.
Carlos Driscoll, a scientist on the study, which was published in Science yesterday, said: "What our work shows is that cats were not domesticated anywhere else in the world, but that they became pets for people living in the Fertile Crescent before being carried to other parts of the world by humans." The Fertile Crescent gains its name from land irrigated by the waters of the Nile, Jordan, Tigris and Euphrates, where hunter-gatherers first began to settle. Different civilisations occupied the region, including the Sumerians, Assyrians and Babylonians.

Cool Wren. I had no idea about the history. I do know that my Siamese mix Emmy is having neurological issues right now and is screaming through the house possessed, madly dashing through doors, bouncing off the couch and sounding like a 13 pound elephant. Sometimes I wonder about her wiring.. she was hit by a car years ago and survived- but maybe there was some brain damage?
Aurthur has gorgeous eyes. That one cat splayed out half falling out of the chair reminds me of my daughter's HUGE Siamese cat Pinky. When he folds his legs underneath himself he looks like a harbor seal- he's beige and so FAT! She just sent me a picture of him splayed out tummy up like a floating otter, lounging on the couch. He has the prettiest eyes they are purple- blue. My daughter rescued him from the no kill shelter here. He was the saddest nastiest looking pathetic animal. The pads of his feet were worn nearly off, his eyelashes folded into his corneas, damaging them and making his eyes infected, he was starving, had a broken tail, a chunk missing from his ear, parasites . I asked her why she took this 3 year old street urchin? She said, "Mom no one would take him. He can be a 5th floor city cat, fat and happy." You know we had his eyes surgically repaired and he's fat an happy living on the 5th floor!
