Cute kittens! Ok, feel-good rescue story. A woman saw a post for free kittens - 4 weeks old. She notified Kitten Inn, and also notified another friend (male friend). She and the friend went to the nasty gang house and got the kittens. They wouldn't give up the mom cat, sadly. A call went out to the KI volunteers to get the kittens ASAP as they weren't in good shape. One could pick them up, but couldn't take them all the way to KI, so she drove part way, met another volunteer, and the kittens got to KI in under an hour. They were put in with a momcat who has a baby the same age, and so far so good. New babies on the right in the picture. Don't be put off by the "jail" - it's a huge dog crate.

    More kitten porn... :)

This momma is so good with her babies. When they wander off, she brings them back. However, they've gotten so big, she can barely lift them. But they do all love a good snuggle with mom.

This kitty had her babies about 2 hours after arriving at the KI. Susan, who runs KI, said they were the smallest babies she'd ever seen. In this photo, they are six days old, but about the size of a one day old kitten. All are doing well, however!

I agree Feline! I love the tortie momma. But I've got a real soft spot for torts.

The tortie momma is stunning. I started to type "tortie" and realised I had typed "tittie". Must be because it's a boob-related thread.

This kitty is such a good mom. Her babies are getting huge and she's amazingly patient with them. She's just buried in kittens!

I used to own a cat with my old roomate. I'd love to get a cat but my husband is allergic to them.

The cat that got me through my cancer treatments was a tortie. I finished treatment in June 2014 and she died in August. 2014 Rapid lymphoma.....I didn't see it. I said never again, got rid all the kitty supplies and toys, and then in November, adopte4d Esmerelda. God must have turned my steering wheel into the Petco for 3 days before I decided to adopt her....I had zero business in the pet store as I had no critters at all......

Cute story Redheaded! I have said never again too after our tortie died 2 years ago. She too was "nurse Kitty" She didn't leave my side (other than for essentials) when I had my BMX. Laid on the side of the bed & whenever I would move she would come up & make sure I was ok.

Kiwi hah I think the tortie has mammary business too with all those nursing babies. Maybe it wasn't a BC related Freudian slip...

Love the description of God and the steering wheel Redheaded Nerdy

rushjackson sorry to hear of your cat-less state but of course you have to consider your hubby. My DS had cat allergies (I had cats before he ever existed) I took him to a homeopath who treated him and improved the allergies. Didn't make them totally go away but the reaction is so much less. However our situation was different in that I already had the cats. After many cat years we were then 2 years without cats after the last of my old girls died and when Arthur sashayed into our lives DS did have a bit of short flare up, but it settled down very soon Thank God. However I don't think we could ever have large numbers of cats while DS is still at home. (He is 19 so future independence beckons...)

Here is a mean thing I did to my non-animal loving SIL many years ago; we had two cats already when I became pregnant. She rather sharply asked what was I going to do if the baby turned out to allergic to cats? I gave her a mournful look and said, "Oh, I surely hope not. It would be so sad if we would have to give the baby up for adoption!" I don't know if she was ever sure if I had been kidding or not. Winking

so true. We're down 1, had to put the old lady to sleep. It was her time, she was 15 and couldn't eat anymore. And no, I'm not getting someone else to replace her
