    Shep - I used to get Western Bluebellied Fence LIzards as gifts from my step daughter's cat. He never killed them, just brought them into the house for play. :p Your skink is cute. (My daughter is a herpetologist, so I've developed a fondness for lizards and other crawlies).

    The skink looks a bit like small newts we get here. There are many more lizards in the US than there are in Ireland.

    DD is a Wildlife Biologist who really loves amphibian, reptiles and hyenas... So basically all of the critters that no one else loves. I guess the apple doesn't fall too far as I'm passionate about the older cats and dogs and the overflow of kittens this time of year. :p

    New cat at the shelter last night might be a Somali. Most unusual red-gold coat. I've never seen a cat that color before. Really handsome but he's very thin. I hope nothing big is wrong with him. Some of his liver enzymes were elevated, but that might be from using body fat.

    Silly post, but a friend of mine got me hooked on this really simple iPhone game called Neko Atsume. You collect items and feed your cats, and they hang around and give you points to buy new items. Really basic and silly, but I enjoy it. There are special cats who come around when you put out specific items. I got visited by Guy Furry (Guy Fiery - in case you are not a cook off show watcher). He cooked a pizza on the heater. Cracked me up.

    Game is free - but a warning - it can take up to a week for the cats to really start showing up, but once they do, they are there a lot.

    Thought I would share one of our Save A Kitten kittens. This photo is just too cute, and this little guy is as sweet and friendly and playful as ever, despite having a blockage and needing surgery. I'm so happy he's not in my hands as I don't know if I could let him go.

    awwww...what a sweet little tuxedo! I could never work at a shelter, waaaaaay too tempting. I already have four indoor only kitties. I used to let them out part time...but lost my handsome 20lb tux to either bobcat or coyotes. So now I keep them indoors only.


    BTW...best thing I ever bought was that flushing automatic litter toilet. Catgenie 120. I never have to clean the box...and one unit works with up to 4 cats. It uses proprietary cartridges...but I don't care. No poop scooping for me¡!!!!
