Started my chemo in September and will be done December 15. Mild SE and ready to be done. My treatment is also to prevent reoccurrence. Let's beat this thing!!

I have a cold now.  I think I got it from my boys.  Hope I can fight it off.

Morning Annie, I did get very sore throat and runny nose, but no cough or lung butter. this last week right before chemo I came down with a wicked sore throat and my lungs felt tight so I took cold fx 2 times a day for 3 days. Felt fine going into round 4 on Friday. But then I don't have any pint size germ factories at my house. Mine are 10 and 13 so they was up good before hugs n kisses.

Annie and aga, I always take oil of oregano or grapefruit seed extract when I feel something coming on. I asked my MO about them and he said they were fine. They both have anti viral and anti bacterial properties. Good luck!

Annie, I have had a low-grade runny (and bloody) nose since I started. My oncology nurse said it's from the chemo (I'm on Herceptin and Taxotere right now).

both rounds I've caught a cold on week 2. This one is worse than last time. Hacking congested cough, headache, runny nose...you know like a normal cold. Last round it lasted a week. I felt good for a couple days then had to do chemo again. I'm wondering if this is the "chemo flu" I read about.

Southern Charm- that hairpiece is just too sexy!  You might be hit on seriously in my neighborhood if you were wearing that!

Thanks for the words of wisdom about the SEs. I hope I don't have another 7 days of this. I couldn't make it through another day of this. I have to be at work in the morning - and no option on that. If I have another chemo like this- time to wrap it up. Then I'll be doing the next chemo - or I won't be doing the next chemo. I've got to be better by the morning- still have laundry to do and only myself to depend on.

Southern - GORGEOUS! I have not thought about a wig, but that's something to consider....

Annie - I have had a wicked runny nose after both rounds. I also had a light, occasional cough with Round 1 (only a bit of cough with Round 2). I am no medical professional, but I chalked the drippy nose to starting to lose the nasal hairs. (Absolutely no idea if that's true.)

    Happy Sunday Beautiful ladies!!!

I enjoyed reading all the post and I'm glad I'm not all alone.

Im surviving post 3rd chemo SE, nausea is almost gone but the big C has taken over, Ive been drinking prune juice and that has help but my poor bootie is sore.

I went to my sister's church today where they dedicated a section of the service to BC awareness and they asked me to come to the front and we all prayed for my healing and all of our healing, I had you all in my thoughts. We will beat this because its the ONLY choice we have!

Im right there with all of you with all the SE, hair loss and the feeling of finding our NEW normal. This SUCKS!!!

Have a bless week and stay strong!!! we will beat this!! ThumbsUpLoopy

Maybe it's just me then since I have 2 little germ factories constantly climbing on me. I'll be so thankful when this chemo is done. I'm already making plans for my detox after this is done and before rads.

Anyone ever have dreams that just seem SO real that they ruin your day? That's me today. I had two awful dreams last night, and now I just can't shake my foul mood today. It makes me super mad too, because this is my "good" weekend, and we had planned to go to a fall festival with the boys today, but I'm so pissy, I cancelled, and I'm just laying around feeling sorry for myself instead. And I know how ridiculous it is! Ugh!!! Hoping for a better tomorrow

aggiemegs: I had one of those dreams last night as well....which also involved stomach issues in addition to lots of other unpleasantness...sure enough, woke up with both lower GI track issues AND heartburn and feel really crappy. AND this was my good weekend also. Cancelled some afternoon plans (I really wasn't comfortable being that far from the bathroom :-( ) and am sitting around feeling sorry for myself as well. So yeah, I know that feeling all too well. :-(

    Round three tomorrow afternoon.

Told my family I won't be at Thanksgiving this year. No, I won't be bringing all my stuff and won't be bringing the soda on top of the spiral ham, strawberry cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory and my famous Prime Rib. They wanted me to drop off the stuff even though I wasn't going. Isn't that sad?  Chemo two days before means no food. Got to run. Nausea has moved to action!

    hi Lindy

Do you mind me asking what brand your headband wig is? It's really cute!

I've been dying of heat in the afternoon at work. The sun is on our side of the building in the afternoon and with my wig on I get so hot. Then today I wore my halo and hat to Costco and nearly passed out I was so hot. Ugh.

Still can't taste anything.... :( and I thought I was in the clear with two nausea free days, the last night it came back. Today too. Frustrating

all I do is sleep all day. I've been a total sloth for 2 weeks, but the last 2 days have been the worst.

Annie, you of all of us have been through the wringer, don't beat yourself up, use your sloth time to build strength and recover.

I'm wondering If I'm A Bit anemic. I've been pushing the iron food the last couple days. I'm just really over all this crap and want it done. And I haven't been through nearly as bad as some in here. I just wish none of us had to do this.

Grey: Please see if there is some help for you through the cancer society. I can't remember where you live but I truly believe that there is support for you. No one should be on their own. Also I am a person who barfs easily. My MO ordered two anti nausea infusions to be started before they delivered the Chemo. They helped so much I can't begin to tell you. Please let your doctor know and next Chemo have them give you something in the infusion beforehand.

Also I read that there are ladies on here who have a tape or adhesion allergy and have Ports or Pic lines. There is a special tape they can use Make sure they use it. I had a deep wound and had to go to the wound center. I actually ordered the special tape from amazon and I take it with me to the infusion center because they did not have it. I use "Hypafix Dressing Retention Tape". I can also use the Tagaderm but I know some people can't

Also ladies I bought a wig but I also got one that I received from the national cancer society is real hair there is a local lady who generously offers to trim it for you and such for free if needed. She also has discount wigs that have been donated. I live in a really small city so its not because I live in a big hospital city. It might be worth asking around and checking into where you live.

Last week, I had no doctor appointments. None. It was like a vacation. This week is chemo, Neulasta shot, and lymphadema specialist. Back to the grind, right down to flu shots tomorrow at work.

Side effects for round two generally weren't as severe, but the fatigue is still lingering and my taste buds didn't completely recover. And my eyes and nose are runny. Again, more attractive every day!

I took our 15 year old daughter to her first college football game yesterday, and we had a great day together. A friend has season passes, and wasn't going to use them. Even though Georgia Tech lost by 3, it was a good game. Last night, my husband and I rode our bikes to a block party nearby. I only lasted an hour and a half. It was cold enough for a hat, and I realized that some people had no idea I was bald.

Grey, Annie, Artista, Teacherhikermom, I wish you all an easier week.
