Wicket fits the name given!! Adorable lil face and fluffy butt! I love all dogs really. I wish I had millions of dollars for research and helping rescue dogs ! They truly are mans best friend ! Some cats are cool too for sure. But I’m allergic 😶 have a good night keep safe from storms. Our fur babies as well! Mine were freaking out during our tornado warning two days in a row. Hail, wind flooding and heavy heavy rain. It’s freaky. Hope everyone is safe tonight with power!

Lol very very true!! Lol I agree fully imagemy lil pal keeping me company! I love dogs!! They are so keened into their owners emotions. He never leaves my side. Although, I also can’t go anywhere because of his high strung anxiety when I am not around. Good thing I am a home body. Lol have a good Saturday everyone

I read today an article that when your dog wants to sleep in your bed with you, it's because you are your their favorite person in their world. That they want to be with you always and that's another reason, they follow you everywhere. It was also mentioned, that the dogs that sleep in their owners beds are dogs that are more than likely to show extreme anxiety when you leave the house for a prolonged periods of time. If you go out for short times. Spurts. They start to trust you're coming back, so they wait. Sometimes even a certain bag=suitcase they recognize and is a trigger. I was amazed. It is definitely my Deeohgee, has anyone else experienced this with their dogs?? Just wondering. Because this was my dog to a T!

micmel- My small dogs sleep in the bed with me. None of them suffer from anxiety when I have to travel. They are also very attached to their pet sitter. I have two large dogs who do experience mild to moderate anxiety when I'm away from more than 3 days. I can recall several years ago my little Maltese would become very agitated whenever she would see my to-go bag packed. She would always poop on the bed as I'm preparing to leave for the airport. After a few incidents with poop on my bed I started putting my luggage in my car the night before a trip. It solved the problem. Even though I've had many dogs throughout the years I've only had two to three dogs who suffered from severe anxiety when I would leave the house.

Domino sleeps in the bed with me and follows me everywhere and is currently sitting by my feet as I type this. She is used to our schedule though so not anxious when we leave for work. She comes along for most domestic travel, once or twice a year if we go somewhere international she is OK with the pet sitter. However she does do this when I’m packing... hmmm...

Jo - thank you for the welcome back! 🐶🐶

Spookie keeps an eye on me during the day, eventually getting up from her cool spot to find me. She’s ok with my random coming and going, even overnight. Like hospital. Goes nuts when I get home. She does allow me to use the bed

Kris is daddy’s boy, whines when he knows dad is home, but can’t get to him. Closed bathroom door. Or dads cutting grass. He sleeps with dad. If dad is gone, he lays on couch, watching for dads car. How he knows THAT red car from any other is beyond me. The house is closed, a/c on, so it can’t be sound. Then it’s excited almost hysterical barking when dad gets home. I’m just a meal ticket to him. imageKris checking on dad in showe

spookiesmom- My vet and trainer told me years ago it's the sound of the car dogs learn to recognize. My dogs were always waiting at the front door when I would come home. When I bought my new Honda 3 years ago it took them three or four days to become accustomed to the sound of my new car.

But the house is closed, a/c on. Big wall unit, and it’s LOUD.

My Deeohgee does the same thing no matter what time of day. The second my van pulls into its spot I hear the howl. It’s almost as if it’s a sixth sense. I know my house is always loud. I sleep with an industrial size fan and an Alexa noise machine with heavy rain sounds. Deeohgee knows when my son comes home from work everynight at different times. The second he pulls up he knows. He starts howling. He welcomes everyone! With me,the suitcase is the trigger.

Domino looks adorable as usual. And how cute that lil guy checking on daddy. When DH arrives I become second fiddle. Deeohgee listens to him better. But comes to me for protection and love. When he’s been a little terror or has stolen something !! Lol

    They surely are smart!!

spookiesmom- my house is very loud also. Who knows with dogs. When I had my rental car the dogs never barked or came to the door. Who knows what's going on in their little brains?

Never posted on this thread although we’ve had several dogs over the years (lab/lab mixes and corgis). Thought I’d share a couple of pics for your morning “Awwwww. . .” Two of my kids got golden puppies last week. Not litter mates—they were just both ready to get their first puppers at the same time. Meet Penny and Oates.
