galsal - sorry you are experiencing this - all I can offer is many have benign cysts on liver, kidneys, etc - and some are found while doing routine scans. My DH has innumerable nodules - too many to count with some over the size threshold for concern - but they are stable and just scanned annually. His were found accidentally on a scan for something else

sarahstronger - the ladies of this thread are due for a lunch, and we would love to have you join us! As far as regular support groups, I believe St. Joseph's has one, and Florida Hospital also does - I am in Tampa so not as familiar with Pinellas County hospitals. I can PM you the numbers for the support groups I mentioned.

On that note - are you ladies ready to get together? Give me some dates!

Definitely ready to get together! It stinks but even the lower doses of Afinitor gave me the horrible side effects & so I had to come off of it again this past Thursday. See Dr. C on Friday to find out the plan for sure, but was told my options are pretty much back to more traditional chemo now. Probably going to be starting on Xeloda to at least keep me free for as long as possible.

So, anyway, seeing everyone would be great! My open weekend dates coming up are Sundays - 4/15, 22, or29 & 5/6 late afternoon/evening, and Saturdays 4/28 or 5/5 anytime.

Good morning...I haven't checked in for a while I moved to St. Pete in Dec. 2017 and started work in Tampa Jan. I was wondering if anyone here could recommend a Dr. ? I need a General Practitioner first then an onc. I am scheduled for a scan in Tulsa at CTCA in May but will be looking to switch after that visit. I am having some pain issues as j work 12 to 14 hours a day on my feet. I know that I need bloodwork done as well. Any help would be appreciated greatly as I have a hard time trusting Dr.s after dealing with this cancer for 4 years.TIA.

gstroud70 - I know you said that you needed a gp first, and I don't have a great recommendation for that. I do LOVE my oncologist, Dr. Julia Cogburn at Florida Cancer Specialists. Several of us see her or Dr. Wright who is also at Florida Cancer Specialists.

I am definitely ready for a get-together! My drains were finally taken out after a very long 3-1/2 weeks, the staph infection is cleared up, and I am good to go! We just got back from a wonderfully restful 10 day cruise and it really was what I have needed.

Special K - I'm here for the next few months until we head north to see our daughters and their families. So whatever works for everyone else will helpfully work for me. I'm looking forward to meeting up with you all again!

I'm definitely ready! I'm looking forward to seeing everyone. I think the only weekend I can't do at this point is May 19th - 20th.

Hope everyone is doing well. Heart

Hi Sarahstronger. I live in Bradenton, but I am part of the Tampa group. I like it very much, because I have different type of questions now that I am in hormonal therapy.

One comment that I have for you is that I didn't enjoy meeting in the hospital. Those meetings were a little too topic driven.

If you want to talk before our next meeting (TBD), you can private message me.

I'm out of town May 17-27. Hoping to see you all!

As for Dr Cogburn,I also am one of her patients after getting recommendations from this Tampa group. Just on Friday, I left a message for her about an incidental finding on a CT Scan and she called me at 7:30pm to discuss it. A thickening of the Sternum was found. Did the marker labs yesterday and on the 24th having a PET/CT Scan. Meeting with her on 26th to discuss results and next move.

Galsal -- I'm sorry that you are dealing with this at all, but that is such an excellent example of how much she cares for her patients. I have been dealing with some stuff and kind of a crossroads for treatment, and she has spent a lot of time with me and my file to make sure that we proceed in the best way. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers and hoping that it is nothing, but thankful, you have her on your team.

Much thanks for your kind words, nbnotes! Although others see Dr Wright,I figured any one who is Stage IV and recommending their Onc was fine by me! I'm thrilled to have her on my team!

So far, it looks like everyone can make May 5 - we just prob need to avoid Cinco De Mayo craziness in the restaurant choice, lol!

galsal - My good friend - young and BRCA1+ who had a 3cm TN tumor - is also a patient of Dr. Cogburn, and loves her. I sat in on all of her appointments and if I was not already seeing Dr. Wright and very happy, I would see her - she's great. So sorry you are worried about this issue - and certainly hoping it is nothing, but she will take good care of you.

Galsal thank you so much. I could really use a friend here. I like my coworkers but it's just not the same...they can't comprehend what I've been through and I think that I'm seen as weak sometimes. I try to not let my se's affect my work but my body hurts and sometimes I can't hide it. It's frustrating to say the least. I miss my family and friends. I miss patio days with my best friend so much. I love sitting and having lunch and talking about life. Do you live in Tampa? I currently live in St. Pete but work in Tampa.

Twills, that's the second place he'll be going to after his time in a sandbox is over. It could be well over a year before he gets to come home. So thankful that we steered him to be an LPN in the Army which means he's much safer than others from not going outside the wire. Being my Only Child, I very much appreciate that!

    gstroud70, I'll PM you.

Well I wouldn't be going and where for a while unfortunately. 4 weeks ago I had a partial knee replacement. On Thursday my ancle on the same leg gave out on me. On Friday I had surgery. I have 5 screws in my ancle and one plate. I'm not allowed to put any weight on that foot for 6 weeks. I'll be released from the hospital Saturday and will go to inpatient rehab for 1-2 weeks. After that I'll have out patient rehab but I don't know for how long.

Kira - I'm so sorry to hear about your knee and ankle. Wishing you a speedy recovery. It will take time to recover, but I know you'll get through it well.

SpecialK - I may have to back out on this meeting. My 9 year old chocolate beagle (my little girl) is having issues with her glands. It may be a mass. She has an appointment with one of the Blue Pearl specialists on May 3rd. They may do surgery on the same day to remove them. If that happens, then I'll need to be with her that weekend through recovery. I'll keep you posted.

Karen - I hope your Beagle will be okay. It's hard when they are ill and we can't do much to help them. Please keep us posted.

Just a rant. Was going to have my occupational therapy but since my blood pressure was high it was cancelled. Now here is the rant!!! The nurse insisted on taking my blood pressure on my upper arm to prove the results on the lower arm were wrong. She knows that I have had lymph nodes taken from both sides. I was in tears. I'm furious!!!! Naturally they didn't change
