my first oncologist had a list on his wall to talk to him about if you were taking them. I never ask because I only take prescribed calcium and D. Cardiologist rprescribed magnesium for the electrical health of the heart since kisqali could effect that in some patients. Besides it's good for heart health. The best route is to stick what is recommended for specific therapy by your treatment team since supplements are a huge industry

I see my Radiologist at 8 in the morning to see if my MRIs indicate new disease or scarring. I've been off kisqali for about 8 weeks because my pets have been so good I got a break from cycles. MRIs was looking for pain source. Oh well , tomorrow morning feels like my first encounter with cancer. I guess you never get use to it. Zanax here I comeLoopy

    Hi all,

Ida, hope your CT goes well and your MRI JoE.

I saw my surgeon today who told me she was amazed at how much my cancer has shrunk, and she doesn't want to see me for another 12mths. I hope the Kisqali combo keeps working through 2019!

    Cheers,

    Jackie

Update and not surprised. RO confirmed 2 new lesions at 1.1cm-1.5cm at L3 and L4 vertebrae. Didn't take up much fdg in November at the pet/ct scan and it slipped by. Scheduled Monday for first of 14 rad treatments to knock it down. RO very positive but reminded me vigilance and treatment was to slow progression and prevent fracture. My old lesions are stable and show almost no uptake. Typical of past treatment. Ironically I have no fractures collapsed or bulging disc. Great back just have cancer. Loopy

Waiting for a call from oncologist to see if I'll have a change in meds. I know I'll stay on letrozole but don't know if kisqali began to fail or just hadn't tapped down the new stuff. Anybody go down this road??

Singing the praise of my radiologist- they ask if I could come in this morning at 8am instead of 9:45 so I said sure. When the consult was over he ask if I wanted to do my markings and Ct/scan now to save a trip because he saved me a spot. He said not emergency just saving me a trip. Oh yeah!!

    Hi all,

JoE, sorry to hear about your new lesions. I’m a bit confused about your Kisqali program and wonder if you were taken off it too early. Hope things get better for you soon.

Kanga Roo, I've been on kisqali since March and had great success but itmy last pet really showed not much change in November. I didn't ask my onc if she thought it may not be working as well when she said now was the time to come off to see if femara would continue to keep it tapped down. She's always straight forward and open so I didn't question. My markers have never been like many of you. My highest was 66 and last month it was like 20.She may have been suspicious but I will be talking to her this week anyway. She's a great communicator so I hope to speak to her no later than Friday.

Joe, sorry for the news. I was thinking the same as kangaroo. As per my onc, the role of kisqali is to slow progression. And it might shrink the tumor (he used 'might'). If no change on the scan, kisqali has done its job, why stop. I'm in Australia, doctors probably have different mindset. Good luck with the following treatment.

JoE, I'm sorry for your news. I'm glad your docs are on top of things for you though!

I started my second week of 400mg and seem to be having less SE on lower dose. Scans on Monday - my first since MBC Dx. I'm starting to get a little scanxiety.

Busy weekend coming up- my birthday falls on Super Bowl Sunday this year- too bad my team got robbed and won't be playing!

Now, waiting for my scans on Monday, the last few months have had me crippled with fear, I'm afraid to leave my house. I still get tired very easily and am afraid of something happening while I'm out. I know it's silly. Today has been a tough day. My head says I should be doing more but the rest of me has no motivation or energy for anything. I'm going to try an outing tomorrow.

Sherry, Hope your scans show there has been shrinkage. I think we all go through the fear of waiting to see what our next tests show us, but Kisqali seems to be working for most people. Unfortunately one of the side FX is feeling fuzzy headed and lethargic. This gets better. As to going out... you have faced cancer and coped, so there is nothing outside your door worse than that, that you can’t cope with. One step at a time..sending gentle hugs,

    Jackie

Sherry, my combo kicked my butt. I still don't drive. Even the anxiety that aggravates the fear is partially induced by the meds. How many mg do you take? When I was reduced to 400mg, because of white blood count I began to gradually improve. Hang in there. Like Kanga said, one step at a timeHeart

Sherry, totally agree, I’d forgotten how terrible I felt on 600mg! After my onc put me on the 400mg (took a couple of months) I felt much better!

Thanks Kanga and JoE! I did 2 cycles on 600mg and have just started week 2 of my third cycle on 400mg now. I'm forcing myself on an outing tomorrow. I have anxiety meds if I need them!

Kanga and JoE I just wanted to say thanks for putting things into perspective and your encouraging words. I went out shopping with family today and found my wedding band and the dress I will get married in! Both smoking deals! We are just going to city hall but I wanted something new that my fiancé has never seen. It was a great day!

Sherry good luck and a virtual hug for going out! I M glad for you!

JoE: I am so sorry to hear about your news! But I think there other ways than kisqali. I think we havent tried everything.

As per my scan it was all stable. My doctors keep saying it is a great news and I think so too.

Kanga: I say to myself every time I am scared of anything. "Cancer hasnt killed me yet so this one wont either". But as Sherry said there are days especially before scan results that I just wanna crawl in bed!

    Love you all!

Hello everyone, I have been away for a while. Update. I ended up staying in hospital on antibiotics for 3 days. I got an extra week and 2 days off kisqali. Today is my second day of cycle 2. I'm on 400 mg now. I'm a bit annoyed that I only managed 1 cycle on 600mg. But my oncologyst says 600mg was too strong for me. My white blood count went too low. 0.8 I hope 400mg will still do the job.

    Cheers

    hi Samuka,

I also had only 1 cycle of 600 mg. My wbc was very low, 0.7, but I was feeling good. My onc gave me one more week to bounce back on wbc. I still didn't pass, 1.3 now, 1.5 is the minimum. So I'm on 400 mg now, having minimum side effects. Hope it works as well as 600mg.
