Mara- So sorry about your difficulty getting to sleep last night. I think it's terrible that politics can cause us all so much stress. It doesn't seem necessary or right. I think you were smart to get yourself away from it for awhile. Sounds like the rest of your day has been better, and I hope that continues for you! I too hope everyone is having a good Sunday.

@shanagirl it's a real turquoise cabachon. The beaded frame is called a bezel. I put it on a necklace. A friend gave me a box of rocks with a pile of cabs made of agate, jasper, turquoise... Treasure! I'm glad you had a happy flashback about BBQ. ... We barely made a dent in it lol so much leftovers mmmm

Cookie, good luck with the seeds.

Goldens, in your pocket for the injections.

I watched a couple movies, Strange Brew again, a really Canadian movie and just plain silly comedy classic where beer on its way to Oktoberfest is drugged so this brewmeister can take over the world. Max Von Sydow played him. Main characters were Bob and Doug Mckenzie played by Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas and their dog Hosehead. I've watched this a lot since I was a kid and told a lot of people to take off you hoser that was said quite often. Fun stuff. Other one was called Control Freak which was a horror movie on the disney plus stream, in the Star section of adult movies, that one was not bad.

I worried less today, kept up to date the news BUT took breaks. Told my brain not to worry about anything, one day at a time and all of that good stuff, applies to my cancer too. Deep breaths are a help and taking more steps whether in the house or not is fine. I will be going to bed earlier, around 2am but that is a couple of hours earlier and will ensure I am up earlier, need to book Paratransit tomorrow for an echo friday afternoon.

SF-Cakes - In your pocket for sure for your scans later this morning! I can totally relate to the emotionality, and the deep seated wish for no scans, meds, or side effects, but a long and quality filled life. It can just really get to you sometimes and you've just got to let it out. Good luck today, and please let us know how things go. Hug!

Irish - So sorry that you couldn't sleep. I thank goodness that insomnia has never been a notable problem for me. I really feel for those who get it, because what I hear about it is not good. I do hope the injections help in the long run though. All those activities you have planned sound real fun and fulfilling, so maybe you will sleep tonight and then start enjoying all those spring plans you've made. I'm assuming they think you're doing OK if they've put your scans out further. That's a good thing.

Goldens - Hugs to you too!

Candy - I have a feeling that this is overall, a success. With time for this one to heal, and then to get the other one done, things should be all good. I've never known anybody that got this done that didn't say afterward that it was wonderful and that they wished they'd done it sooner. I've heard people say things like how they hadn't seen so well since they were teenagers, etc. Good, good luck with this and thanks for letting us know the latest.

SF Cakes, I am sorry to see that you had trouble sleeping, being tired can definitely turn the tears on for sure. I do think that no SE's and worries would be wonderful. I sometimes wonder if it would be nice to just have scans and skip the drugs but it would probably cause cancer to show up in force. In your pocket to make you feel better, sometimes the tears are your bodies way to get rid of extra stress. If you need to sleep I can type out my generally boring activities.

Candy, I am sure you thought of this but setting computer brightness and making the colour a little more yellow may help until you can wear glasses may help. In pocket for your other eye.

Irish, I am sorry you also had trouble sleeping as well, in your pocket with some boring stories as well. I hope it returns soon.

I did have trouble for a couple of nights, worried about the orange man invading Canada and such. I decided that even if I come across news or anything, worrying won't make it better so just going one day at a time. Sending myself off to sleep saving people and that usually help. In my case, worry is useless, not going to predict the future any more than the news can predict exactly what will happen. Last night, I did sleep almost 10 hours, went to bed a bit earlier and turning it back a bit at a time.

I had phoned for a Paratransit trip yesterday but was a day early so phoned today when I woke up, Echo pickup and drop off from hospital all set up.

Need to breakdown a bunch of cardboard from Amazon for the catfood and litter purchased lately and assemble the garbage. Perhaps do may trips and stop feeling like it is such a big deal.

Food will focus on beans, may start pre making extras for dinner as well so that I do not run out of stuff too have. My thought this morning was to tear up an english muffin to put at the bottom of a bowl. Add the beans and cheese, chopped in together, perhaps some beefless ground. Will affect whether to use 1/4 cup beans or 1/2 cup as the cheese and english muffin could be filling. Turn the whole thing into a cheeseburger type idea using different toppings. Later have an egg sandwich if still hungry.

Not much else on the agenda for me so will wish everyone a good rest of the day and in pockets for all who need me.

@candy-678 Happy to see you, one down one to go. Thanks for checking in, wishing you a speedy recovery.

@mara51506 Glad you caught up on sleep! Hope it's a good day for ya.

@irishlove Yep the steroids will do it to ya, hope it doesn't last long. I understand about moving scans as my MO said the same last visit. I told her I didn't feel comfortable moving them yet. I told her we would discuss again next week. It's so hard not to lean on that crutch and for you doubly with the MS.

@sf-cakesUgh the scanxiety i awful.Big hugs and positive thoughts for stable scan.

Candy - Sound like progress - slow perhaps, but progress! Good for you.

Candy, you are making progress as threetree said and the adventure getting around the house definitely sounds familiar. In your pocket for the second eye as well.

I slept a long time again, only broken up to put an earphone back in when the AC kept kicking in then shutting off. Getting to the point it will stay on for the day as it warms up. Not sure when apartment heat shuts off. I never did take window AC out due to DB injuring his thumb a few months ago.

Not sure what is happening today, got plenty of laundry which I skipped yesterday, the usual sweep and such. I did get a lot of boxes out yesterday in the reccycling but missed out on garbage as I was tired, not too worrled, will take out in a couple of weeks and there is not too much as I do recycle or reuse most things. Food containers become storage or reused as a container. If there is no use then I go ahead and recycle. I am also soaking dishes for half an hour in the big washer, some dish soap and no agitation, just a soak, gives more room in the kitchen, I then pull them out for rinse and drying in the bathroom sink. If wondering why I do this, gives more room for future cleaning of dishes. I would love a countertop dishwasher but would have to put on the stove or use a cutting board over the sink, but no need for that as of yet. Soaking in the hot water in the washer, which is done after scraping and rinsing first just makes them easier to get clean. Once dishes pulled out of washer, I put lint filters in and run a couple cycles to get any stuff that may have been left behind as well as rinse out the soap. Works best in the big washer. I also have a pile of cloths to clean as Tigger was sick to his stomach, not sure why, will give him smaller portions of food and maybe wet food with a helping of probiotic to go along with it. Also ordered a sensitive stomach formula from Hills science diet as he was sick twice, not sure if the food he has now was the culprit or his water which I washed out the bowl and put fresh stuff in, not offering food right now and washing all cloths together later. Dishes will be left in the other washer until entire load of towel and cloth are cleaned up.

Not sure about food for the day, freezer is looking emptier which actually is really good, I would like to have it empty enough to store dessert type stuff. I do not need too much dessert but some cold things would be nice. Just need to stop stuffing stuff in the freezer. Might chop up some beans, put an egg and whisk it and microwave it. Once cooled, chop the egg and beans mix and chop in with some spicy queso chips I don't like to eat and cheese, makes it all the texture I like, use some mayo and garlic seasoning, have not dumped out the no salt yet, will do it when I feel like it or just add a small dash. Do something with the english muffins later, was thinking of the torn up muffins, add some butter to torn up muffins, let that cool and mix with peanut butter. I just get bored with toasted muffins and this gives me something better than eating peanut buttter out of the container.

Anyway, hope the day is going well for all and in pockets for all who need me.

Mara-Just out of curiosity/cultural exchange-how does garbage pick-up work in your city? For me, the regular garbage bin and recycling bins are provided by the city. I can take out garbage or recycling at any time b/c the bins are out in the alley. I could bring them in and lock them up but no one does. Sometimes other people put things in my bins but I don't care at all. Garbage is picked up once a week-recycling every two weeks or so. If my bins were stolen/moved, I could request new ones from the city free of charge. I can take out small loads whenever I want. Your system seems much different-can you explain?

I grew up in a suburb. There we purchased our own cans/bins and brought them out and back in once a week. In Chicago, for people who live in apt buildings, there are typically garbage and recycling dumpsters, which again can be accessed at any time and are the responsibility of the landlords.

I stuck with beans, beefless ground and shredded cheese. Put 2 tsps of the garlic spread and a tsp of garlic powder as well, not the salt, just powder and a little dash of salt. Thinking of mayo and possible bit of sour cream seasoning. Eggs can happen later on. I did not even chop the beans and it was still just fine. Had a couple of Hersheys chocolate almond bars as well which was good.

Chicagoan, so we live in an apartment building and simply share a schedule from the city, we all drop off in the front of the building for pickup. I used the recycle bin yesterday and it was picked up but gone this morning. I will simply use bags for the recycle as I converted too bags for garbage. Got tired of fools putting their garbage in mine, so went to bags, will keep my last recycle bin inside and stick boxes in there. Take the bag and let them get picked up. I reiterate, good golly gosh darn the person who took the recycle, I wish the same luck for them.

Mara-So you have to keep everything inside your apt until either Garbage day or Recycling day? I think it's like that in NYC too.

Mara People can be so ridiculous, sorry for the aggravation. Hope you enjoy your outing tonight.

@goldensrbest Well glad you got some relief and hopefully will last a bit. I know with my DH it always varied how long he was relieved of his pain. Interesting with the knee, so the knee pain isn't radiating down from your back issues? Either way glad you get relief for the knee also. I guess perhaps an increase in BP meds dose..fingers crossed for good result from stress test.

Still thinking of many here, hoping you are all hanging in there♥️

Well, surprisingly, someone put the missing box back in the building so that is good.

I did go out last night, was a good trip. I did get a few things needed at costco, eggs and M@M peanut container. Went to the grocery store and got some canned and sliced mushrooms to add to meals with more eggs. I did enjoy the walk overall and the outing in general.

I actually got to bed at a more decent hour than usual and slept pretty well, have the echo today at 1pm so getting picked up at 1230 by paratransit.

Focusing on beans again including in my breakfast, doing a bit of laundry and that is about it. Eggs will feature more in meals and picked up chocolate milk for the potassium and nutrition and protein. So thinking breakfast will be eggs and beans, microwave those together, chop up with cheese and reheat. Will get that ready soon. Not sure what to have later but I will see.

I do hope everybody has a good day and in pockets for whoever needs me.

Mara - Good luck with that echo. Thinking of you.
