We are due for a thunderstorm before HOT weather rolls through. 110F most of the week. That is OK, will stay in unless I need to go somewhere on Paratransit. No hospital trips for at least 3 weeks which is fine.

Got two wee washers working their hearts out, almost out of cloths, once they are done, wet vac drain, clean tub etc. Need to clean floors as well, some sweeping and then the sweep vacuum that I have as well.

Food is probably going to involve lentils and some of the greens I bought at walmart, follow with pasta or rice, not too sure which. Later can be an egg or two with veggies and microwave for 3.5 mins then chop once cooled and put into frypan with melted garlic or butter. Frypan on high heat on the burner and then turn off and cover with lid.

Edit, first meal was the greens, a mexican salad, put into the frypan with garlic melted down and some beefless ground. Heated on high for a minute, stirred and then turned off burner and covered with a lid. Dished into a bowl, added some sour cream and bacon crushed up chips. Added a bit of sriracha ranch dressing and sour cream, was really good.

I hope everyone has a good day and I will be in pockets for anyone who needs me.

I have the same payment plan as intolight. $2000 for the year and that's it. I know this won't be much help, but I think there is a provision that allows you to spread the $2000 over the course of the year, so this year you could pay $333.00 each month.

@eleanora we're already paying $300 for the plan G ugh. It's just too much and i refuse to pay it with credit card. We're already barely treading water after paying high deductibles plus $10,000 in premium for eight years. I've read Eliquis costs under $20 per year to manufacture....

    Tired of being ripped off.

Finally, bit the bullet and sent a request about the plumbing, water is black and no way that is normal. It has to be coming from else where too, going to vacuum out as much as possible and empty the tub of washers. Not sure why it took so long to do it but it is done. Who knows how long takes to get fixed.

As far as laundry, handwashing bigger items and will wait for response from landlords. No ideas on where to keep the washer. Using smaller washers for now and considering using buckets for wand washing. Tub is disgusting, black as well. Will take breaks with unplugging stuff and pulling out the washers. For now use a bucket that I have and use a wand washer with it. Old school but I have plenty of buckets to use for that purpose.

Otherwise, need a wig, wand wash using a bucket clothes in a bucket, has to be a smaller load since I am doing on the floor and dumping water in the sink. Take out washers for storage in the bedroom. Hoping this does not get me in trouble for using washers in the tub. I had permission before but who knows now. I just do not understand the black water. Not planning to do anything else for now.

As far as food, planning rice, eggs and greens done up on the stove. Not sure what toppings to add, I have a lot. sriracha and ranch, plain ranch, caesar, chipotle etc. I will see. I forgot to post meals yesterday, will try to do better today.

Edit, taking the easy route for my first meal, chicken penne pasta, not the recalled brands. Put one egg on top along with beefless ground. No cheese as I keep forgetting about it when it comes to pulling out of freezer. Also added a fair amount of greens as well, other pack of greens in the freezer too. Covered all with a lid and put on for 6.5 mins since a lot to heat up and my microwave is only 700 watts. Once it is cooled down, will take out of package and figure out condiments and seasonings to put in, I have a lot of them. Might do some sour cream, sriracha or baha sauce, smaller amounts of each in order to keep calorie count of toppings down. I will see. May keep the package the pasta came in to use as heaters for other dishes. I would keep using pre made rice though. With all the greens and potential fats, will need one immodium I would think.

Hope everyone has a good rest of the day and in pockets for anyone who needs me.

I slept all right, feels hot inside even with AC on but that is not unusual. Will put out extra fans for myself. Plumber should be here today so doing a last laundry before, one more session with the wet dry vac and will struggle to take washers out before he/she gets here. I will believe it when I see it. I will say, draino did nothing for the drain other than change black water to light brown, yuck. Eating breakfast and moving stuff to the bedroom. Might need to bust out wee washer to finish a rinse on laundry started this morning, still spin in the tub and go from there.

Other than that, hibernating from the hot humid air and that is about it.

Meals will contain greens, eggs and rice or pasta, that combo does taste very good. Sriracha and sour cream bind everything well too. Got lentils or beans to add to meals. Might mix with the chipotle beans as well, I will see. Post later if interesting.

Stay cool if in hot weather as much as possible and in pockets for all who need me.

@illimae Awesome news, congrats!! Enjoy all your summer festivities ahead.

@mara51506 So glad it didn't take long to get a plumber there. Glad your not dealing with it anymore, you did the best you could without all the equipment the plumbers have. Hope your water runs clear for a very long time. Oh yes I remember being scared at Jaws too, great movie though. I also remember they were selling white nautical rope bracelets that we thought would keep the sharks away lol. Was the fashion at the Jersey shore that summer, fun memories.

Indoors as well today mostly. I really want to weed later, hoping when the sun sunsets it doesn't feel as oppressive. We did manage to go boating yesterday and it was hot but tolerable. Was definitely a day we had to be in and out of the water to stay cool. Well hope everyone is cool and comfortable💕

Chicagoan, in your pocket for anything that removes some or all pain for you. Also amazed that you can put up with no AC. I can't sleep if hot. I assume you have fans stirring the air? I knew a few people who did not want AC. Honestly, I prefer bringing in outdoor air as I have a regular fan in the front window and AC can act as a window fan as well.

Cookie, will be staying in as well. Although I have two AC units, the window one which has been going strong after I learned it was not meant to keep the temp at 64, killed one this way and the second one would have died. I keep at 72 now and it is much happier. Living room split AC is kept at 72 as well for the cats. If it is truly hot, I have a couple of vornado fans to bring in cooler air from the bedroom as well.

Planning on having soup noodles. Basically take a pack of soup noodles, make them as directed, let cool. Then heat the frypan and use cooking spray and melt some butter and garlic put the noodles in the pan with an egg and some greens I have. Have to pull cheese from the freezer as well as cook up some ground beef later in the day. Just figure out what dressings or bindings are needed. Use egg or two for some protein as well. Later meal has me investigating ketchup as a seasoning on something else, including frozen pasta. I find it pairs well with garlic, onion and the sour cream and onion. I have a huge bottle of ketchup and want to get through it. I also enjoy a buttered and toasted english muffin with peanut butter, bit of ketchup and plain ruffled potato chips on top. It is a yummy snack. I crumble chips and mix with the peanut butter and then spread it on on the english muffin. I will see. I can see adding tomatoes to meals as well, got canned diced tomatoes. Will post later what I have.

I am making some fried up soup noodles and greens. I boiled the noodles, put cold water on the drainer, put noodles in the fridge. Got in the pan, had melted some garlic to fry in. Put a generous amount of greens to go with it. Stirred a couple times on high and turned off burner, covered with a lid. My plan is to have this and a bunch of other stuff, saved the noodles as I do not need to eat a whole package of them. Will use the seasoning but also my assortment of stuff. Post later what comes to pass. Another nutty idea I am having is to get a double big mac, no bun and turn that into a cool meal or 3, will see later how I feel and the cost of it.

The noodles done with boiling then cold water worked well, I did fry up a handful in the pan with garlic and put a large handful of greens, seasoned with some of the vegetable seasoning, sour cream and onion seasoning, actual sour cream and a bit of salt, tasted really good and I still have a fair bit of noodles left over.

I did order the double big mac, but added a meat patty so 5 patties, extra onions and extra cheese. My plan is to keep some of it in the fridge and to heat up the patty in different meals, can safely be in there up to 4 days and keep some of it in the freezer as well. Hoping to create at least 5 or 6 meal additions or add to eggs. I will see. No bun as the buns do not generally survive nicely in the fridge. Post the meals along the way.

I am enjoying laundry again, getting a drain cover from amazon but since covering drain hoses with meshbags holding with elastic, it drains very slow with mesh wrapped around drain, BUT nothing coming from the drain to the tub drain.

I do hope everyone has a great day and in pockets for all who need me.

I did receive the double big mac. Was a messy procedure taking the burgers and cheese off with some lettuce as well. The stuff going to the freezer, stayed in the box and the box was put in a freezer bag. The darn freezer bag would not do up so folded bag over the box and put an elastic around it. Goal for the burger is to give enough sides OR addition to main meals and last a few meals. Lots of mac sauce and lettuce to contend with which was why it was so messy. Later I may open some canned tomatoes and do different stuff with that. The burger itself came with 4 patties but got an extra patty, extra cheese and extra mac sauce, I will figure out different meals later, goal is at least 4 or 5 meals to add to for each half. Make it worth the cost.

@chicagoan Great news on the consult for cryo possibilities on primary tumor. Fingers crossed that it can be done and glad consult is a couple weeks away. Nice perk with acupuncture and massage I hope it brings you some relief

@mara51506 Glad your back in business today and laundry is going smooth. Yep I am the same way I can't sleep when I'm overheated . I struggle to stay asleep even when cool so I welcome the AC. I grew up in a hot city row home and I consider the AC a nice treat. Love your cost saving idea for the BIg Mac meat. I'm sure you will work your magic.

Currently cooking penne for dinner with meatballs. Will try to continue weeding after dinner when the sun starts to set. Hope everyone had a good day.🌺

Cookie, the big mac additions are good. I put my own stuff in with the treat and still have the other half to eat. I have a lot of different binding agents for food, salad dressing, baha sace, poblano queso, the works and makes it really enjoyable. You are also right, laundry is great, got a drain cover, covering the drain hoses in a mesh bag keeps lint and stuff out of the drain too. They are slow to drain but I don't care and if bored, have all the wee washers as well which are glorified hand washers but do a credible job too. I also can simply bail out water from the washer to speed up the process, I like that any lint gets caught in the mesh bag and possibly the metal drain cover too. Even though lint was not an issue with the drain, that was corroded pipes, still would not mind doing my part to keep clear. Shop vac will transition to a dry vac instead to be used as I please.

I did just wake up, my fault for eating chocolate late, led to a late bedtime but I am not worried about it. Apartment feels less warm, guess keeping windows shut is better. split AC does run out of refrigerant quite often but not too worried since bedroom window AC works well.

My laundry has been started, need to seal up the other drian hose in repaired washer with a mesh bag and elastic as well, the more the merrier.

I am at a loss with a first meal, thinking a crunchy taco vibe or an egg sandwich made in my mini griddle with some of the other ingredients added. Taco may be in for the win with the egg and greens of the mac stuff in the fridge and my other greens, I will see. Keep forgetting the griddles would be useful to use as well as I went a bit crazy for them, letting everyone know later what I made up

One meal was some of the big mac stuff in the fridge, heating in the mini griddle this time, once done and cooled, put in a bowl. Smaller meal due to enjoying extra calories from all the toppings I have. I also want to get more chipotle bean medley from Amazon, can see mixing the chipotle beans along with canned tomatoes as a nutritious addition to any meal. The fridge still has mac stuff to get through and there is more in the freezer.

I wound up having some of the big mac meal, I also added frozen pasta meal and mixed the two, topped with sriracha and ranch dressing, bit of the sour cream and lime, put a bit of the sour cream and onion dry seasoning and salt, blended together. It was very good. I think if I decide to do this again, will have DB take me to Mc D to pick up the double big mac without pickles, lettuce or bun. I am managing a good stretch and the good taste is good. I will see in future what I want to do.

Also happy bills that I still have some rent and bills savings for the month and have not had to reach into savings. That makes me happy because I only used my income to pay bills and groceries and did not need my savings to float the budget. I am glad, got 26 dollars left for the month so that is good. Can play games for a liittle bit extra too.

I do hope everyone has a good day and in pockets for anyone who needs me.

I slept around 4 hours, had som

e chocolate at around 7pm and thought I would be fine and then went to bed and sleep closer to 5am. Need to stop the caffeine hit earlier, finish anything I started around the house no later than 9pm. I do not feel tired at this point but need to pay attention.

Redoing laundry that was started yesterday and forgotten about, need to be more thorough and finish the cycle, at this point, no need to soak stuff. I still don't mind the slow drain provided by the mesh at the end of the drain hose. Assures me nothing is getting down the drain, I like the drain cover as well. Got the stainless steel variety.

Edit, took the mesh off drain hose, set it to drain directly into the drain cover. Hot water will be poured down the drain following a wash or take my green gobbler enzyme, dissolve in hot water and make a good enzyme mix to go down the drain to keep it clear. Maintenance would not be a bad idea. either.

Meals are still working around rice and beans with some of the big mac, man I cannot imagine people eating a double big mac, bun and rest of meal all at once. It is crazy to think about. I have managed to stretch it some while keeping track of duration in the fridge etc. I will post actual meals later.

Planning a couple mini pot pies but using up more of the as well, later on, might eggs and cheese with peppers may be good, not sure yet.

DB is taking me out it turns out, texted him directly, we will head out tonight. Might buy another giant bag of the sour cream and cheese chips if they are still there. They added a delicious crunch in meals. Still might end up booking a trip to Walmart, I will see how I feel. Prefer Walmart tonight but it is not crucial. Can book a trip to Walmart into the next week.

Hoping rest of the day is good for all, pockets for all who need me and my own pocket to get stuff done in a timely fashion, sink is still pretty full. I also realized my mini washers could be a vehicle to soak extra stuff like dishes or small containers then rinse and dry easier. My problem is my dishes get rinsed but there is just so much in there, I get oeverwhelmed I think. Oh well, I will work it out I am sure.

@mara51506 Enjoy your night out with DB. I hope the weather cooled down, we are waiting for t storms here to cool off. I feel like we always follow behind your weather pattern. Looking forward to being able to walk outside again and Buster is missing his walks too. Just obviously way to hot for pets to be outside. Have a nice evening. Hope you sleep better tonight.

I did have a nice shop, bought eggs and a gigantic bag of soucream and cheese from costco. Then went shopping at a less expensive clothing store, wanted more, got a couple of shirts and quasi capris, all clothes were loose and wanted some flow in the shirts. Prefer a loose fit, it feels more comfortable. Should be able to do a wash in the smaller washers as they are more gentle than the big washer. The store happened to have some groceries so picked up some jiffy corn bread mix. Will have to sub in sour cream and or butter for the milk and figure out cooking. Also got greens and extra meat pies Of course chocolate was on sale so bought the Hershey's Chocolate Almond, my favourite bars.

@mara51506 Glad you had a nice night out and got your chips and chocolate! I will take Hershey's any day over the more expensive chocolate. I love it but have to limit myself because I would live on chocolate if I could lol. Nice that you picked up some loose fitting clothes for the hot weather. I love having a couple lightweight casual dresses to throw on when it's hot. I haven't found any new dresses yet this year but after next week in the US all the summer stuff goes on sale.

Thinking of Mel/Gabby this morning and many others here who are struggling. Sending hugs.

Cookie, the night was cooler, opened living room window wide open, got cold so had to close it some. It was a nice night shopping though and walking. Niece came along this time.

Planning a lot of egg and bean meals this week. Finishing up the green beans and chipotle beans, playing games to get free beans from Amazon, that is where I get my chipotle bean medley. Tons of meat pies as well. No frozen pasta as we did not go to Walmart but pre cooked rice can sub in for the frozen pasta, won't eve have to cook for as long in the microwave, can throw some beans, precooked beans, an egg and meat pie, heat them up. Take them all over to the fry pan, add some garlic and just give a quick heat through. Option two would still involve rice and beans but adding frozen pepper and shredded cheese and egg. This option sees me heating up eggs and beans together in microwave, do a chop and throw rice and eggs mixture which would be like ground beef texture and melt some cheese in the pan with some garlic, high burner heat, shut off and cover pan with a lid, leave for a bit and consume.

I am also studying recipes I can use the corn bread recipe with. I know it always needs a bake and I need to add sour cream for the creamy and the other ingredients, mix it up and put on top of stuff and bake them, almost a casserole or make a sort of sloppy joe casserole. Option 2 of the cornbread, divvy it out so I make a teeny bit of corn bread and break it up into food after, keep the box in an airtight container. You would get the corn bread taste throughout the meal. Who knows

Edit, I decided to take the rest of the leftover big mac meal out of the fridge, was not very much left so decided if I could stretch it a bit with cornbread mix and cheese. I wound up taking just a spoonful of cornbread, two spoonfuls of water, and sprayed canola oil into it as well. Mixed all ingredients together and put in an oven at 375 and left for 20 mins. Let cool and put on a plate, added some queso and salt, cut up and enjoyed. I was not trying to make anything like a muffin, just an extra layer to an existing meal. I could taste the cornbread layer and it was very good on top of the bigmac leftovers.

Another thought that occurred to me was that I could take a good amount of cheese and cook til crispy. Maybe put other stuff on top as well, almost like a cheesy crust pizza. Maybe chop up bean or use lentils, I do not really know but is interesting to me.

Laundry in the repaired washer, I have noticed that the tight mesh does not work for the draining portion so went back to a thin sock covering the drain hose, no crap comes out of the sock and it drains much faster. I still appreciate the sink drain cover as well, it has not had much to collect but it is also steel so can just happen by and dump hot water down the drain and that is great to prevent buildup of soap or other stuff.. Debating the efficacy of smaller washers for the clothes since they would not be agitated as roughly OR simply put in one of my mesh bags. I do not wish to destroy them. I will see, as everyone here knows I LOVE my laundry.

Enough about me, I hope rest of the day is really good for everyone and in pockets for all who need me and my own to figure out how to utilize my corn bread mix.

New delicious meal for me. I took shredded cheese and layered out in a sprayed pan. I made sure it was evenly distributed. Preheated my breville to 375. I also microwaved one egg. Chopped it after and put on top of the cheese layer. Put some ranch dressing and taco dry seasoning sprinkled. Put the whole thing in the oven at 375 and let it heat for close to 20 mins, checked to make sure cheese was not super burned, it was crispy on the edges and softer in the middle. It really was delicious. So two new things tried out that were actually delicious. I could even use the cheese as a side dish or snack, who knows.
