    Hi everyone,

I posted nearly a year ago about the bloody discharge from my right nipple, now I am back... it stopped for a while, had one episode of bleeding in July, and starting from Nov, the bleeding became worsening. It happened so randomly, sometimes spontaneous sometimes need to squeeze out. The color is always dark, almost black but with blood in the discharge. See breast surgeon again, and decided a surgery date for nipple exploration and central duct exercision. Surgeon and OBGYN keep reassuring me and try their bests to make the surgery happen during this pandemic. I am a nervous wreck and prepare myself for the worst scenario. Surgery time is next Monday. I will comeback after that ...

    Hi DJMammo,

I hope all is well. I am going to take the nipple exploration and central duct excision next Monday, and I am so worried about the surgery and biopsy (since the breast surgeon said a breast tissue behind nipple is going to be taken for pathology). I know it’s a stupid question, but will it be possible that lump/mass was too small to detect on MRI likely a year ago and now it might be the case). Thanks so mich

Just want to wish you well Monday! Glad you checked back in and posted! I'm uncertain about the MRI missing a lump due to being so small. I certainly know the MRI cannot always tell what things are. In my case it actually noticed a larger area than the diagnostic mammogram though could not differentiate or even convey what the larger area consisted of. That happened during the final pathology from surgery. Do what you can to relax and enjoy these next several days. Of course that will be difficult too...

I saw my gyno last week about bloody discharge and pain in my right nipple (had been going on for 2wks at that point but I've had bouts of serous and bloody discharge for years, just none lasting so long), then had a mammogram & ultrasound today which showed nothing of interest, except that I have dense breasts. I'm 38 so this was my first mammogram. The radiologist recommended I get an MRI since they couldn't visualize anything and are still concerned. I have an appointment with a breast surgeon Jan 8. Hopefully I can get the MRI done first. I was reading something about Pagets Disease of the Breast....which sounds exactly like what I'm experiencing. I don't like relying on Google cos it's Google....but the shoe certainly fits in this case.

I'm not really scared of a cancer diagnosis....but I will say I'm terrified of losing a boob. Health problems have already taken so much in my life....so I'm really hoping I get to keep both my girls.

I'm 35 and I have brown discharge from one breast about 1-year out from finishing breast feeding my second kiddo. My GYN tested and it contains blood. I have a mammogram and ultrasound tomorrow afternoon and an appointment with a breast specialist next week. I'm familiar with papillomas and DCIS and I suppose I'm just wondering what to expect from imaging. Will I have any idea what's going on after that? Is there any chance that it's just nothing? I was planning to start trying to conceive my last kiddo in the next month, but those plans are obviously on hold until I know more. I have an egg freezing consult just in case.

    Update:

    • Mammogram found a 1cm unrelated (I think) mass that they couldn’t rule out via ultrasound so my biopsy is on Friday
    • Mammo and ultrasound couldn’t find anything re: discharge so now its wait for the specialist to advise whether to look into it
    • Egg freeze consult tomorrow

We had a lovely Easter <

Just went gyn for lump in breast that has increased in size I had to reschedule my appointment twice once because I had COVID and the next because of the hurricane, so it took a while to get in. The lump is quite a bit larger now and it is not smooth it’s lumpy and not round feeling but feels very stationary. Dr said she is very concerned and set me an appointment for Ultrasound but it’s 2 weeks out also mammogram is a month out (both were first available), she also said if mammogram is normal she is going to do an MRI, now last night I was having some burning feeling in that nipple so I looked and there was a clear discharge. I am worried and having to wait so long. Anyone have anything similar or any advice

Have you updated your doctor yet? You can also call to see if there have been any cancellations to try to get in earlier.
