Any long term survivor stories with ILC
Comments

Hi All, I'm also looking for long term survival stories to give me hope. My older sister was diagnosed with ILC in October. After Ultrasound, MRI and MRI guided biopsy they realized that her tumor is multi focal ( about 5.5 cm ) or it could be larger. They are scheduling her for surgery ( double mastectomy) . Her stage at this point is either 2B or 3A depending on lymph nodes involvement. Her MRI didn't show any lymph nodes involvement but they would know that for sure once they do sentinel node biopsy during surgery. Her doctor said they since tumor is fairly large it's high likely that lymph nodes are involved. I'm trying to be there for my sister but I'm also scared so I can use some positive survival stories

Just had my 10 year anniversary and so hopeful for many more. I see my onc later this month and hope to get off Tamoxifen then.
(7 years arimidex and 3 Tamoxifen)
Keep the faith!

Thanks for sharing. Praying that you see many more anniversaries 🙏 Did you start with arimidex and then switch to Tamoxifin? That's interesting because it's usually the other way around

yes I started with arimidex 10 years ago as I was post menopausal. Due to my BCI at 5 yrs I continued. 2 years later I asked to come off arimidex due to joint pain. No side effects with Tamoxifen

Thanks for sharing. I didn't know there is an option to switch to Tamoxifin after AI. Wishing you many more years of health and happiness
