    Peachy:

I haven't used those for scars but have read good reviews. My derm suggested BioCorneum. Got it on Amazon. Not super cheap but lasts a long time. (Liquid silicon.) I used on my lymph node scars and it looks pretty darn good. Using on BMX/Exchange scars now (under breast/IMF fold).

My PS said silicon sheets work, BTW.

I would highly recommend puppy therapy. Hard to be stressed with a cutie curling up next to you. Gives me purpose and gets me off the couch. Got my Rads consult dat. Feb 6. They will do it all in one day. Mapping. Simulation. I will be going to Calgary (boo) instead of Lethbridge. An hour and a half further. But now I’m going to take Felix with me 💜

DodgersGirl, I have a question about green tea, do you still apply green tea to your skin after you finished radiation? If you do, how long should we continue?

    Thank you!

Kim, it is about time to finish this treatment, it has been long journey. Thank you.

paulettek—. Is your skin still hot or red? As long as the skin is intact but hot/red, I would do the tea for awhile after rads. I had to stop the tea because of the skin breaking down from bolus but I did continue with aquaphor and calendula for 2-3 weeks after rads. My skin is just tan now. Doesn’t look like it’s been thru the ringer at all

DodgersGirl, my skin is pretty red and some small breaking down. I used the green tea and it stinged a little. Let me post a picture for you to see.

Paulettek—. If the tea is stinging, I would not use it any longer. Stick with what your RO advised to treat your skin with.

Looks pretty red and angry. The good news is this stage is short lived

Wow! Still really red Paulette! Did your RO prescribe any Silvadene? It might help with that burned area.

Paulette, I used Silvadene, and it was a-m-a-z-i-n-g. It has a cooling feeling under the skin almost instantly. My RO prescribed it, but it was wickedly expensive, even after insurance. I had a friend give me some of hers. I see that CVS has a version of it. It might be worth a try. I found that a combo of that, plus some of the lidocaine I had leftover from my port-numbing days, helped me through the worst of it.

my RO would not prescribe Silvadene but I did have RadiaGuard with lidocaine that I mixed with aquaphor when skin was sore

I’m using 4% lidocaine Miaderm and it is helping, yesterday I felt the sting, I’m much better today, I will go to CVS and pick up that cream just in case I got more burns show up thank you Rhyfelwr!

It actually looks worse than it feels, I think it’s the new skin coming out, my RO called it dry peeling,

Thank you ladies, DodgersGirl I am going to stop green tea just use warm water to watch it.

Paulette, I hate to ask what may be a stupid question, but why are you so red halfway up your neck? Were you turning your head to the side? They do have me turn my head to protect my esophagus, but I guess I am just surprised to see you so red in that area. :( Sorry. I am tired this afternoon.

Kim I didn’t even have to turn my head to the side, had two positive lymph nodes so they rads treatment to my nodes near my collarbone. I believe Amy got the red on half way her neck also.

Yes I think it must be because they are radiating the nodes.

Ok. I had so many bad nodes, I can possibly prepare for this as well. It's just day 10/33 today. So happy it's Friday! Little gifts along the journey. :)

Happy Friday all. I went for my first infusion yesterday and happy that I have the port. I put some cream on prior to leaving for my appointment and when it was accessed I just felt a slight pinch. It was much easier having my arms free.

Since this was the loading dose, it was a long one. Got in the chair at 3 and left the building at 6:30. Nurse said next time the time will be 90 min less and then after the CMF portion is discontinued it should bring total time down to ~60-90 min for just Herceptin/Perjeta. These time decreases will be the milestones I'll look forward to checking off along with the possible exchange in the Summer. Keep moving forward!

All in all, I'm feeling okay. Was up a few times overnight. Part bathroom breaks, part hot flashes and part steroids. I took an anti-nausea pill before bed as a precaution. I'll find out if I'll need Imodium soon enough I guess. Loopy

Saw my MO today and signed up for the PALLAS trial. I may not get in because you have to start within one year of being diagnosed and that is Tuesday. They have to have my tissue sample from pathology and that generally takes 3 days but they are trying to expedite. Hoping I get in. Anyone else on this trial?
