Hope you all had a nice day yesterday. Some didn't it seems. Fortunately, in our household we all pretty much think alike. Sadly, my remaining bil's of which there are 4 — one now has dementia so doesn't count so much since he is a non-voter now, are Reps. Also my one remaining SIL (wife of the bil with dementia) is Reps. She in fact, is a very strongly practicing Christian which makes her Reps. stance even harder. She is thrilled that FG re-won the high office. I ignore it all and never bring politics up with her. I don't consider myself someone who kicks when someone else is defenseless which is how I now consider my bil with dementia. So, I just send quotes to SIL and really talk family health, or other subjects that don't cause animosities.
Dh has finally started turning on the local channel (for us it is a St. Louis, Mo channel) as we are across the river in Illinois, west of the city. I thought he would never get over 'cable news' but he seems content enough. Several mornings I got up before him so turned it on — and he often wants coffee more than fussing with a tv early on. I hope we have broken the habit.
Does sound like there are major impacts going on to most of the 'news' channels now. That is good since I think the media had a very heavy hand in what just took place. I am gratified to read that VP Harris in only 100 days was able to keep FG's win down to a very measly 1 %. That is saying something important here. Sadly though, the media gave it a lot more gusto in tearing down the economy that we actually got from Pres. Biden. So, I don't think it was Harris or even Pres. Biden withdrawing late — but the media spewing a lot that simply was not true and hiding it behind the fact that many prices had not gone down. Also giving immigration pretty much the same treatment. I understand that it sure is hard to celebrate the facts about VP Harris — but it does say that in fact, we still have a lot going for us and that should become all the stronger when the U.S. gets a good taste of FG this time around.
