I am amazed by people who on the advice of mainly non-experts choose to forgo immunizations, and vaccinations. I understand that you may be hesitant for lack of information, but we have had scientific medical experts for years. So you do not have to rely on just anyone and can find all the information one would need.
I also have heard a few who felt they were going to trust God for protection. Always wonder about those folks too. They seem unable to accept that they are getting protection in the form of 'experts'.

I live a couple of miles from the Eaton fire 🔥. It's been pretty awful here. I'm a native Californian, lived here all of my 66 years, and the winds on Tuesday were the worst I've ever seen. Around 80 miles an hour at the peak. Debris, including huge branches, we're flying down our street like missles. It was truly frightening. We have a lot of wind damage, but thankfully the fire hasn't made it here.
I just found out today two friends lost everything. Their houses, their furniture, even their clothes. They got out with nothing but what they could carry with 5 minutes notice. They'll have to rebuild their lives from scratch.
So many of our favorite places, like Eaton Canyon, with it's great hiking trails and beautiful waterfall, are just gone. Our favorite restaurant, on Lake Ave. in Pasadena, is no more. We have a small booth with our refinished furniture at the Habitat For Humanity ReStore in Pasadena. It's only about a half mile from the neighborhoods that have burned. It could still burn if the wind shifts.
It is nearly unfathomable destruction of a place I love dearly. When I hear the despicable comments from Trump and his ilk it makes me wish I weren't a non-violent person. I loathe him, and each and every person who supported him. They can go to hell.
Sorry for the rant, but the losses are raw, and to hear them being mocked is more than I can ignore.

My heart aches for you and your community. I’m in San Jose and know that an event of this magnitude could happen here as well. The winds are supposed to die down a bit tonight and hopefully this will help with containment. Take good care of yourself.

Trishyla, goes w/o saying since I'm a former Californian and have seen the destruction close at hand. It defies the imagination until you really see something, once beautiful and lush (including people's homes) completely destroyed with nothing but parts of a shell remaining.
I'm so glad your friends survived, but it is heart wrenching to think your life can be reduced to basically the clothes on your back. I hope and pray they are able to overcome the trauma and rebuild if they wish to do it.
Prayers for healing and for less wind and way more containment.

I'm laughing, but yes it sure seems so. As has been the case for most of the time Melania makes appearances I have to think: How does this woman manage to pick out the most un-appropriate clothing possible. I guess if you want to be SEEN enough, you do it. At the same time I'm so tired of the stringy haired look she almost always has as well.
Two people who couldn't be more of a disgrace. It's going to be a long four years.
