Many people do the right thing while others just complain and bellyache and say they will withhold help to SOME states for political reasons.

Elon Musk should be the poster child for forced male sterilization. I have lost track of how many children he has by a ? number of women. Is he trying to be the white version of Nick Cannon with populating the world with children they abandon or use like attention magnets for themselves?

As far as Bezos, he will have less Amazon shoppers in CA due to the fires so why isn't he donating to help them so they can go back to buying from him?

Sorry the link for despicable Tuberville didn't work but I am sure you can find it online and it is worth the read. If the Repugnicans can't politicize an event, it isn't worth reporting it seems. Disgusting that a person could even think this way.

Interesting that female stars are contributing to wildfire relief while the billionaires stand back and deny aid to the victims

Glad to read thoughts you have shared. I'm still horrified at what is happening to my former home state. It does warm my heart that good souls (no matter from Mexico or Indian reservations) are willing to go fight those fires, and I pray all of those people stay safe as they do so.

Not sure, other than those who present such ugly contrast, why it is so difficult for rational people to GET the difference between good and bad. The fact that in many of the Reps. and FG we are seeing the absolute worst and it doesn't seem to touch people at all.

We Democrats seem to be un-able to get to people through fear and complete dismay — but that's mostly what they get from the Reps. and it works. That and the fact that Reps. would like to keep you as 'stupid' as possible for the control they will be able to have. I am so hoping for that to change after those who voted for the felon this time find out how impotent and weak he is and they are seeing some of it as he walks back things he possibly can't or won't do that was a promise.

Lessons to be learned by both sides, but at least our side is staying on the side of integrity and what benefits the most people who are far closer to the middle and bottom.

BREAKING: Donald Trump's Defense Secretary nominee Pete Hegseth horrifies Congress by refusing to say whether or not he would order American troops to shoot protestors if Trump told him to.This is totally disqualifying..."In June of 2020 then-President Trump directed former Secretary of Defense Mark Esper to shoot protestors in the legs in downtown D.C., an order Secretary Esper refused to comply with," Senator Mazie Hirono said to Hegseth during his confirmation hearing."Would you carry out such an order from President Trump?" she asked him bluntly."Senator, I was in the Washington, D.C. National Guard unit that was in Lafayette Square during those events holding a riot shield on behalf of of my country—" said Hegseth, avoiding the question."Would you carry out an order to shoot protestors in the legs as directed to Secretary Esper?" interjected Hirono."I saw fifty Secret Service agents get injured by rioters trying to jump over the fence, set the church on fire, and destroy a statue," rambled Hegseth."Again... You know what that sounds to me that you will comply with such an order. You will shoot protestors in the leg!" said Hirono. This is not hard. A simple "no" would have sufficed. But of course Hegseth refuses to say no because he is a loyal MAGA hack who will do whatever Trump tells him to — even if that means opening fire on American citizens.

This is from Occupy Democrats and from today's hearing. So, here is Hegseth pretty much saying if need be he would not hesitate to shoot Americans. This should be absolute disqualification.

    Here's hoping that happens.

BREAKING: Beloved comedian Jon Stewart demolishes Donald Trump for cruelly mocking the deadly wildfires tearing through Los Angeles.

This is why Stewart is the greatest to ever do it…

“Trump shared a meme on Truth Social of fires raging behind the Hollywood sign, which was Photoshopped to read, ‘Trump was right,'” Stewart said on The Daily Show.

“Appropriate. Thank you, Mr. President,” Stewart said facetiously.

“I’d almost forgotten your penchant for casual cruelty and dick foolery,” he added. “Flames, nice touch on the graphics.”

“Surely you won’t be content with just trolling those in dire need. Surely you also see this as a merch-opportunity,” Stewart said, tearing into Trump for exploiting the tragedy to sell merchandise by appearing in a photo wearing a“Trump was right about everything” hat.

At least have 25 people have died in the fires so far. Imagine for a moment if Barack Obama or Joe Biden had mocked people dying in a red state. Fox News would be screeching for blood.

And how easy it has been for this grifter to enrich himself. Well, this time around he may make it much harder for his followers to keep sending their hard-earned money to him. You know you can't take it with you, people, but sending it to FG isn't the answer either. Good luck to all of you, but not too much of that to the orange grifter artist.

The Rule of Law should absolutely apply to the President. Why do we have a succession of people anyway. If the Pres. can't be counted on to provide adherence to all our laws then he's not fit to be there as our finest and best example.

BREAKING: MAGA fans melt down as President Biden announces that he's removing Cuba from the list of state sponsors of terrorism — a long-overdue shift in American policy.

    And it gets even better...

A senior administration stated that an "assessment has been completed, and we do not have information that supports Cuba’s designation." Cuba was placed on this list to exert economic pressure on the island nation and exact political concessions.

The only other nations on the state sponsors of terror list are North Korea, Iran, and Syria. Clearly, Cuba doesn't belong with the other three.

"Concurrently to these unilateral steps that are being taken by the United States, it is our understanding that the Catholic Church is significantly advancing an agreement with Cuba to undertake a set of actions that will allow for the humanitarian release of a significant number of political prisoners in Cuba and those who have been detained unjustly," a senior administration official added.

Another official predicted that the changes "will be broadly well-received in the region and beyond."

"Other allies, including the EU, Spain, Canada, Colombia, Chile and many others have asked for Cuba to be removed from the list, and so we view this as an opportune moment to do so, given the important dialogue that is taking place between Cuba and the Catholic Church with respect to political prisoners,"they added.

Do you think that Donald Trump should keep these changes in place to secure a more peaceful and secure world?

She tried to take this back, but you know — when you write something, long before someone is asked to take a government position, it doesn't become less true over time. The above IS true of this man. True then, and still true. He's doing a chameleon walk and his mother is trying to help him —- and maybe it is just as much for herself as him.

Only 6 more days of wonderful Pres. Biden. So hard to believe that the orange creep is going to be able to claim for one second all the good things our Pres. did. Still, I do think this time, the downfall will come quick. Even before taking the oath he is backtracking on 'the campaign' he ran — having to soften the blow by saying he may not be able to do as much as he said.

Gave people something to want bad enough to vote for him and now they are not going to get it. Serves them all right. I may suffer but at least I totally expected it.

Thank you, Senator Reed. I don't know if we can keep him out, but at least there will be huge evidence that it should have happened if it doesn't.

Good for her. As a matter of normal (at least for Democrats) protocol I think former Pres. Obama likely needs to be there, but First Ladies, especially those who were mocked by FG over and over, do not need to be display such strong decorum.
