How we may have been feeling from time to time before the election but not how we are feeling now.

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/12/02/us/stacey-abram... sorry for this long url, but it is for a NYT story about Stacey Abrams and her other life as an author of romance novels. Her writing buddies have been raising money for her get out the vote efforts in GA. The article lists some of the organizations involved in that effort.

Glennie: Glad to hear you and the dog are okay.
Memes are wonderful and it is nice to point out that Trump is the biggest loser of all presidential has beens. Nice finish to four years of agony. Don't let the doorknob hit you in the arse on your way out of the WH, donnie and take the witch with you.

Speaking of witch...hope this doesn’t offend....

My DH is a tRumpster. FOX/OAN/Newsmax is on ALL DAY LONG here. It's usually annoying but there was a touch of humor on FOX tonight.
Heard in re: tRump's 45-minute YouTube/FB video screed about election fraud: "Festivus came early this year." This from a conservative commentator.
Festivus is the made-up holiday from Seinfeld that features the annual airing of grievances. Do I sense a hint of mockery? LOLOL
The TV remote becomes mine to control at 6 PM. I turn to the Madison news channel, then something radical like PBS, and try to ignore his mutterings.

Glennie - Glad you and your dog are safe.
badger - Can't be Festivus without the Feats of Strength! He's just a whiny, little b*tch!
Sorry about your husband. I'd read some Trumpers had gotten fed up with him.

Glad I re-read thru your entry badger. I was about to ask what the Madison neews channel was ( red face here ) but then I looked over aned discovered you were from Wisconsin. I forgive your dh. I have a good friend from Wi. We were in the Army together. She got out and went into Nat'l Guards. My chagrin when I found that shse was a Fox News lover. So very Reps. I think she was likely just as surprized that I'm a Democrat and think QUITE ill of Trump. About as ill as you could think of anyone.
You though seem to take it in stride and that is good. I guess the fact ( though many here check out Fox etc. now and then I think ) that a lot of people never listen to anything but their heavily rt. leaning stations. The rest of us favor the left although I think we are far more flexible. We have a slant to our news but overall it is/seems almost always to be truthful, even when it slants. I have founmd when I listen to the far right news the slant is more lie than anything else. I quit viewing Fox at all for a while when they won their lawsuit allowing them to lie -- but on occasion now I take a gander.

Glennie - glad you and the pup are ok. The weather this year has been crazy, seems late in the season for a tornado.

Divine... love how you spelled which... lol

Glennie, so glad you and your pup made it through the twister. Bummer about your oaks, carport and car, though. 2020 keeps on finding brand new ways to suck.
Chevy, those decongestant nasal sprays (old-school like Neo-Synephrine, and second-generation 12-hr. ones like Afrin) are notorious for their rebound effect, which can kick in even after only the third dose and make them not only addictive but less & less effective. I usually "clear the clog" with Ayr or Ocean (saline buffered with aloe) and then a shot in each nostril per day of Nasalcrom (cromolyn sodium, which inhibits "degranulation" of mast cells so they don't release histamine). At the height of allergy season, 2 squirts per nostril per day of Nasacort (an OTC topical steroid). You can use the saline as often as you want, but you probably won't have to. I take an oral antihistamine (Zyrtec) at bedtime--as my former allergist's NP once told me "to ease the wheeze, you have to ease the sneeze." But I steer clear of any decongestants--they can spike blood pressure, even if it's well-controlled on meds. I have a friend who, at 36, took Claritin-D not knowing it had Sudafed nor that she had hypertension. She had a stroke, and had to re-learn both how to play the guitar and all the lyrics to the songs she'd written! (She did get a good album, "Sick Humor, out of that).

Serenity, I forgot about the feats of strength. ;-)
Jackie, I've had four years of practice enduring my DH's tRumpism so yeah I'm used to it by now. This year, it's gone from tRump is gonna win in a landslide, to recounts and audits will overturn the balloting, to lawsuits will overturn the results. Now he's pinning his hopes on the electoral college. Fat chance. After 1/20/21, he will have to give it up and wait for 2024. But he will b*tch about the evil Dems all the way. UGGHH!
Next up: pardon-palooza by the orange menace and his constellation of grifters, incompetents, and sleezemongers. There should be a bingo card for who got pardoned like there was with who got fired.

Sandy, thank you so much.... I just sent you a private message... also I do have Nasacort, if I get into trouble, AND I use the Ayr also, but no more of the other nasal sprays! All of this was my own fault... didn't realize you could only take some OTC meds for a limited amount of time... And I probably didn't even read the label...

Well, well, well -- and the 47 or so minute rant. But as was mentioned -- not appearing in public to do this. Taped and put out later. It is unbelievable that many of the Reps. ( in defense of it some are backing sort of quietly away ) are basically still not saying a word. I guess they are hoping that the doofus will settle down and then maybe with fortune there will be a turn-out of Reps. for the fun-off, ah I mean run-off.
These Reps. seem so debased to me but then frankly, I've mainly felt much like that for a long time. Just seems more important at this point to at least try to appear like you give a darn about what others are thinking about you and your actions. Then again, if you have held on through thick and thin the whole way what could you really do now. A transparency either way that will HIGHLIGHT you so maybe they just have to finish the ride.
McConnell sure deserves to go to the bottom of the class. The do-nothing clown. I'm so ready to be through with him and I so hope that is the way it turns out. For one thing -- we need rid of these types and as well, we need to start setting things up so that they work fruitfully -- no matter who has the ofc. Four yrs. of hell is enough for anyone. Now if someone would just bring the straight jacket and get it on the proper orange person -- we could really get down to business. If not, then I guess the humiliating of oneself could continue, but it is dangerous due to the amt. of derangement. Oh how the history books are going to record this one.

badger, I understand. Dh and I put up with his brothers and a BIL ( all were my bill's ) for many yrs. I finally put my foot down and said -- if you are going to have a get-together and talk politics let us know in advance because we will skip it. They were usually happy to invite anyone who could cook being widows or bachelors. I told them if they started I would pack up my food and go home.
At one family get together I was tested -- and started packing up. I was talked out of it, but from then forward -- no more political talk. I wouldn't have minded so much if the Reps. Fox News wasn't being pushed down our throats -- consistently. We became a family who could no longer disagree politely but Dh and I were made to feel like we were almost as one-sided and deranged as the Trumpites and Reps. party are now. Sort of sad.
And my friend Chevy -- yes, always read and re-read things. Sometimes they are changed and sometimes ( thinking of Dh here ) we get use to them sitting in the medicine cabinet and forget the instructions. I'm glad you got that all straightened out, but wow -- sort of close call there.

Glennie, wow, the tornado sounds like it was rather destructive! I’m glad no one was hurt, but how disruptive dealing with all the damage!
Chevy, glad you nipped the nasal spray addiction in the bud. It’s for the best. I feel like it’s easier to fall down that rabbit hole during the pandemic because we can be isolated, have less distractions and are trying to cope with such an unusual set of circumstances. Hope you are still doing okay.
I don’t get the fascination of Fox TV. My sister and my neighbor are also Fox junkies meaning they must start and end their day with it. Does it ever occur to some people to step away from the news barrage to allow your own thoughts, ideas and opinions to form, without interference from someone with an agenda?
Also, I’ve come to see family gatherings that make politics a topic of discussion as a form of passive-aggressiveness. The family is all “hey, let’s get this big beautiful family together! We all need to socialize!” They act like the family ties are of ultimate importance. Then once you are together, they start with the one-two punch insulting and ridiculing your political views. I have avoided all family gathering this year and don’t know if I’ll ever return to a big group get together with them. My Fox loving sister plans to have extended family over on Christmas eve at her house. Meantime, our county Covid cases went from 25 in August to about 850 now and they say the surge from Thanksgiving hasn’t even hit yet! Two sisters are working at a heavily shopped craft store this season. Gee, what could go wrong?
