Seems she should know it's never wise to quote Hitler as being right about anything.

Well, that didn't last long, Trump is back to praising his thugs that stormed the Capitol and killed people. The news said his advisors pressured him into making those videos indicating that he agreed with a peaceful transfer of power. I'm waiting for the day that Trump isn't constantly in the news headlines.
I supposed having Pence for president for a few days would be safer however it appears that he's not going to even answer Pelosi and Schumer's phone call. Maybe it's wishful thinking but if either the 25th amendment or impeachment is pursue I wonder if that would cause Trump to resign.

Dear family of Ashli Babbitt: Your sister, mom, daughter was a terrorist. Now she's dead. You see, yesterday she decided to go to Washington DC to attack the United States Capitol. Once she had battered down the front doors, she and her friends made their way to the chamber of the US House of Representatives, where she smashed out the windows and was trying to claw her way into the room. When it was clear she was going to make her way inside, the capitol hill police shot her dead.
But this wasn't who she was, you say. She was a typical woman from San Diego, owned a pool service company with her husband. But you're wrong. She had been radicalized over the last few years by Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, Alex Jones, Q Anon, and Donald Trump. She listened to them, and believed them when they told her that the Democrats had stolen the election, that Democrats were Socialists hell bent on destroying America, and every other twisted, demented conspiracy theory to be puked up by right wing media and its enablers. But she also was an adult, and believing them was a choice she made.
But she was a 14-year veteran of the Air Force, you say. She loved her country. But you're wrong. She forfeited whatever right she had to the glory that comes from service to our country when she instead decided to attack the foundations on which it's built. A terrorist with a suicide vest strapped to her chest only attacks a building, killing a few people, but what Ashli did was far worse: she attacked the institution of Democracy itself. She chose to feed into the paranoia that our country's electoral process was a sham, and she went to the capitol with one thing in mind: to stop the certification of the election. It's why she was there. When she wrote on Twitter Tuesday: "Nothing will stop us. They can try and try and try but the storm is here and it is descending upon DC in less than 24 hours" she was writing her manifesto. And she died by it.
But there were ten thousand people doing the same thing and only she was killed. Why? Well many of us have asked that same thing, and the answer is because of the cowardice and complicity of law enforcement. Police either had an order to stand down, to not use deadly force, or they all just chose to do so, even when the center of our government was under attack. Clearly, as demonstrated by the overwhelming use of force at protests in DC in 2020, law enforcement knew what to do, and how to do it, but they chose not to, and that choice was a deliberate choice. The question isn't why was Ashli killed, but why weren't a thousand more killed.
We all know who Ashli was. She wrapped herself in respectability. She claimed to love America. She supported law enforcement. She hated Antifa and Black Lives Matter. She watched Fox religiously, and followed Q Anon ("but not the crazy part"). She exemplified white privilege. Believing somehow that attacking the US Capitol was somehow saving America. She was relatively smart, but radicalized. She lived in a nice house in suburban San Diego. She was a veteran. A small business owner. She had lots of friends. And yesterday she tried to climb through a window at the US Capitol while the entirety of the United States Congress was hiding in the basement, lying on the floor. And now she's dead. Ashli Babbitt was an American terrorist.

Sidney Powell, Ashli Babbitt, and so many like them. After looking at three Facebook entries from the girl I grew up with next door to us -- I just sit and wonder do they go like this because they are Republicans ( and many of the friends and people I know are second generation Reps. ) but there are many Reps. who when I talk to them don't seem to be buying into the majority of the conspiracies that others do. So, I'm trying to decide -- just what is it that makes some take on the full number of conspiracies and all -- and others seem able not too. In truth, very much more so now, I don't much understand anyone being happy with being a Republican. After Trump has brought what should be horror to them save for the super extremists of course.
Maybe it will never be totally clear -- how do you go from normal in a relative way to the deep extremes.

Texas woman flew on private jet to Washington, DC, to 'storm the Capitol'
By Elizabeth Rosner NY Post
A real estate broker from Frisco, Texas, flew on a private jet to Washington, DC, along with friends to "storm the Capitol" on Wednesday.
Jenna Ryan, who is also a radio host, flew from US Trinity Aviation in Denton, Texas, all they way to the nation's Capitol — where she had "one of the best days of my life."
"Hopping on a plane heading to DC #MarchToSaveAmerica #stopthesteal," she wrote in the caption of a photo on the tarmac.
The Trump supporter was also tagged in multiple photos on Facebook, where she is seen holding her luggage with a big grin on her face.
Ryan tweeted a photo with her pals aboard the jet.
"We're gonna go down and storm the Capitol. They're down there right now and that's why we came," the Texan said in a video clip.
The morning of the riots, Ryan livestreamed the walk to Capitol Hill, saying, "All these working class people taking the week off … We flew here for freedom. They want to steal the election, they want to steal everything."
She continued to ramble, "We the people are pissed off … We flew by a private jet, God wanted us here today. Trump is my president."
"This is a prelude going to war," exclaimed Ryan.
As widespread damage and carnage ensued, Ryan posed in front of a broken window at the Capitol, smiling, with the caption: "Window at The capital. And if the news doesn't stop lying about us we're going to come after their studios next."
Then they accomplished their mission.
"We just stormed the capital. It was one of the best days of my life," she tweeted at the end of one of the darkest days in American history that left one woman fatally shot and four more dead.
Metropolitan Police did not immediately respond to a request about whether Ryan was a person of interest in the riot on Capitol Hill.
Ryan did not respond to The Post for a comment.

Well that is so sad -- no more orange tweets. Okay, I'll confess. I never had a twitter acct. Still, I think one of the very best punishments for Trump would be to take as much of his ability to self promote away as possible. Also, if that goes away, then maybe harder to spread his rumors, lies, conspiracies. I hope more of those kinds of venues follow suit.

I'm glad that some R's are getting their epiphanies , but the fact is you, like many of the others, risked Wednesday's event and any number that might have been as bad, when you chose to let Trump go free from the first impeachment. You all knew then and you chose at that point to continue the enabling because you get farther over-all. Well, here you are !!! Pardon me if I think this is just another possible attempt to buy time in case you can figure out how to save yourself again -- because that is all it ever seems to be with you people. If you're sincere good, but you've left me with some deep seated skeptisim.

I do not have a Twitter account, either, but am glad of Trump's ban.
This is what CNN is reporting about Twitter's actions. The part I highlighted is what concerns me most at this time, even if Trump resigns or is ousted before Jan 20.:
Twitter's decision followed two tweets by Trump Friday afternoon that would end up being his last. The tweets violated the company's policy against glorification of violence, Twitter said, and "these two Tweets must be read in the context of broader events in the country and the ways in which the President's statements can be mobilized by different audiences, including to incite violence, as well as in the context of the pattern of behavior from this account in recent weeks."
The first tweet was about Trump's supporters.
"The 75,000,000 great American Patriots who voted for me, AMERICA FIRST, and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, will have a GIANT VOICE long into the future. They will not be disrespected or treated unfairly in any way, shape or form!!!"
The second indicated Trump did not plan to attend Joe Biden's inauguration.
"To all of those who have asked, I will not be going to the Inauguration on January
Twitter said the tweet concerning inauguration could be viewed as a further statement that the election was not legitimate. It also said that the tweet could be interpreted as Trump saying that the inauguration would be a "safe" target for violence because he would not be attending.
Trump's otther statement about American patriots suggested that "he plans to continue to support, empower, and shield those who believe he won the election," Twitter said.

You can't make this stuff up!! As far as the suicide-by-taser guy goes, I'm trying to think of a fitting epithet, but may have to leave that task to Stephen Colbert or SNL.

Good for Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook for finally banning Trump. No more of those awful messages from him!

Here's Twitter's full statement on why they permanently banned Trump.

There are more attacks being planned:

Parler is a far-right platform used by many people banned on Twitter. I don't use it, but I've seen screenshots calling for violence
