Since the above usually causes me negative type feelings so much of the time I thought I'd share something else. I'm normally skeptical of these things, but " Call to Activism " usually doesn't allow just anything.

    CALL TO ACTIVISM

19h  · This is Jesse, he is a drifter who lives near the bridge in my area. He owns nothin but a bike, a bird and a bag of about 10 items!
Yesterday, while I was riding my bike down around the beach – which is about 5km from my house – I got a flat tyre. I had no choice but to turn around and wheel my bike the long walk home.
A few people rode past and didn’t really pay me any attention and I didn’t expect them too, but as I started walking, headphones in my ears, I noticed the homeless guy from under the bridge saying something to me. At first I thought he was going to ask me for something so I popped my headphones out and asked him what he wanted? He then replied “I don’t want anything bra but I’ve got a new tube in my bag and you can have it if ya want!” Shocked at first I said no thanks but he insisted. So I walked over to his little clearing where he had his things and his pet bird sat in a busted cage.
He opened up his empty bag and gave me the tube (which was one of the very few things he had) helped me change the tyre, even pumped it up! I asked him how I could pay him back and he said to me “don’t worry about it bra, this is what it’s all about!”
The enormity of his situation and the fact that he went out of his way to help me was so humbling, I mean this guy was willing to give me his stuff and didn’t want anything in return. To you and I, a bike tube would probably not mean much but to a guy with so little this item must hold enormous value!
I could go on and on about how selfless this guy was to give me, a total stranger, clearly in a much better position than him some of his possessions, while people like us are so selfishly attached to all our useless crap.
Anyway I just wanted to show you a pic of Jesse with his new Versace lenses, some fresh Sneakers, a full belly and a cold beer… Felt good to do something for the bloke. I also went up to woollies and got him a couple weeks worth of food and some seed for his bird lol…
Man he was ecstatic even had tears in his eyes and couldn’t thank me enough, but amidst me sitting there proud of my good deed, and him singing me praises, I suddenly felt pretty bad because the truth is if he didn’t go out of his way to help me, I wouldn’t of done anything for him.
I ride past this guy all the time and never even think twice!
Really knocked me off my high horse!
Even tho we sit around with all our materialistic needs and pass judgment, this dude has something that none of us can buy!
I guess what I’m trying to say is thanks for the lesson in humanity champ!

    😀for the above.

Is this starting to happen on a regular basis. The Loon's lawyers are going to be either clamored to or avoided like the plague because in many cases what they do is just not going to hold up. Just read that another of the Mara Lago people have given up their Trump lawyer and new counsel likely has showed them they likely will fare a whole lot better if not found to be lying for Trump. They are now telling the truth.

Obviously, some lawyers could polish their scruples a bit more because they are barely noticing them anymore when in the presence of the Loon.

Wow, miriandra, the massage therapist unionization story is still being written! Best of luck with the Starbucks move, it really would be a great victory.

A couple local observations. Dh and I went to a large outdoor flea market about 45 minutes away in an Ohio county that heavily voted for Trump. We go about once a year. When ds was little we loved to go there for cheap used video games and Pokemon cards. These days there’s still plenty of vegetables and crafts for sale along with tons of garage sale junk, but we noticed many more tables and booth selling guns. It’s like a sign of the times. It left me feeling unsettled. We have no idea the legalities of any of it. But it’s further normalization of visible gun possession.

Elsewhere, at the pool yesterday, dh was shooting the breeze with the guys and a couple of men spoke of their dislike for Trump. We, too, live in Trump territory, so this came as a surprise. I do want to double check with dh that this was the actual sentiment because sometimes he incorrectly interprets what people say.

We all know the good things Biden is doing, but the major complaint I hear is about inflation. I’ve said it before. It’s doing the most damage to Biden’s presidency. If it could be reined in, more people would notice all the other important stuff Biden is accomplishing.

One more thing. I finished reading the very insightful book about Timothy McVeigh and the rise of right wing extremism. The author, Jeffrey Toobin, connects many dots in detail about how the origins of McVeigh’s anger and hatred towards the federal government and the plan he executed to blow up the Oklahoma federal building led all the way to the Jan 6th attempted coup on the Capital. The author explains how McVeigh’s story at the time of the bombing appeared to surround the actions of one man, an oddity, perhaps an isolated incident. Yet in hindsight, it was “a symptom of a hidden but growing menace in the American heartland”—right wing extremism.

Humanity’s attempts to override nature have separated us from our source and destroyed what can save us.  A camera can point to the glory of a pristine forest, but cannot create it.  No smartphone is smart enough to spin a planet into orbit.  God speaks to us daily, but we rarely take the time to listen.  Nature is my church.  When I walk in nature I know the Tao.  No building, altar, or ritual is necessary.  Human beings have created magnificent, awe-inspiring cathedrals, but none can surpass the wonder of a starry night.

To Trump, Foreign Business Is Scandalous, Unless It’s His Own

Trump: Received 66 foreign trademarks, according to a report by the Citizens
for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, with most of them coming
from China but others from Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Peru, the
Philippines, Indonesia, Mexico, the United Arab Emirates and the
European Union. While in office, 145 foreign officials from 75
governments visited Trump properties, and foreign governments or
affiliated groups hosted 13 events at his hotels and resorts, according
to the ethics group report. Beyond the trademarks, Forbes calculated
that a Trump business during his presidency collected at least $5.4
million in rent from the state-controlled Industrial and Commercial Bank
of China. Tax returns show the former president received income from
more than a dozen countries during his time in office, highlighting a
string of potential conflicts of interest. $6.5 million from China, $5.8
million from Indonesia and $5.7 million from India. By 2020, his last
full year in office, Trump reported $8.8 million in income from the U.K.
and another $3.9 million in Ireland. 2016 campaign total monies raised
    $433,392,727.

Eric Trump: In 2014, ‘We have all the funding we need out of Russia’ President
Trump’s son, Eric, once told a golf writer that funding for Trump golf
courses come from Russia, that writer recounted in a new interview.
James Dodson during an interview Friday with Boston’s WBUR described
meeting Donald Trump in 2014 and being invited to play golf at the Trump
    National Golf Club Charlotte.He
said asked Donald Trump how he was paying for his courses, and the
now-president “sort of tossed off that he had access to $100 million,”
Dodson said in the interview. Dodson said he then questioned Eric Trump,
who was along for the day. ”I said, ‘Eric, who’s funding? I know no
banks — because of the recession, the Great Recession — have touched a
golf course. You know, no one’s funding any kind of golf construction.
It’s dead in the water the last four or five years,’” the writers told
WBUR. “And this is what he said. He said, ‘Well, we don’t rely on
American banks. We have all the funding we need out of Russia.’ I said,
‘Really?’ And he said, ‘Oh, yeah. We’ve got some guys that really,
really love golf, and they’re really invested in our programs. We just
    go there all the time.

’”Jared Kushner: Started a private equity firm with $2 billion in funds from Saudi
Arabia and hundreds of millions more from other Arab countries that
stood to benefit from U.S. policies and have an interest in a possible
second Trump administration. Kushner defended Crown Prince Mohammed
after Saudi operatives murdered Jamal Khashoggi, a columnist for The
Washington Post and a U.S. resident. The CIA concluded that Crown Prince
Mohammed ordered the 2018 killing. In 2021, Crown Prince Mohammed’s
sovereign wealth fund approved the $2 billion investment in Kushner’s
new firm despite objections from the fund’s own advisers. Negotiated
with Chinese and Qatari entities to rescue its debt-saddled New York
City tower at 666 Fifth Avenue, eventually brokering a $1.1 billion
lease deal with a U.S. company whose investors included Qatar’s
sovereign wealth fund. This trademark gives the company the opportunity
to sell Trump-branded coffins and prevents other companies from using
the Trump brand to sell their own coffins.

**Ivanka Trump: **Kept her own clothing and accessories line while serving on
the White House staff and received approval for 16 trademarks from
China. The first daughter's company, Ivanka Trump Marks LLC, in 2018,
was truly awarded a 13 trademarks in China over three months. These
trademarks covered a variety of products, including baby blankets,
coffee, perfume, and coffins. As of this writing, [2020] we've seen no
reporting that Ivanka Trump's company (which she no longer operates)
plans to manufacture or sell coffins in China.#TrumpCrimeFamily #maga #biden

Yet they are going after Hunter Biden for his deals? The whole family is nothing but grifters, tax cheats and lowlife when it comes to paying their fair share of taxes. Who believes that Jared's deal was not made while he was a WH advisor and payment delayed until long after the election results were in?

A lot of Ivanka's clothing ended up at TJ MAXX for sale and it was overpriced even then and of not great quality compared to some other brands. Personally I never found her to be a fashion influencer and her stepmom even less so.

    Great post ruthbru.
