CA 27-29 testing

I have mets to my spine. My CA 27-29 had been running about 38-40 (normal 35) My Onc tested again 6 weeks after my total hysterectomy and it went to 134. At the time of the hysterectomy, they found many fibroids/ovarian cysts. Now, one month later he is testing again. He said if it trends up again "we will have to do more investigating" I'm freaking out. I'm almost positive it went up because of the surgery. Is this test too soon? Why do they say they don't put much meaning into these tests but yet they still test?
