Tubular breast cancer, looking for answers

I was diagnosed with tubular breast cancer 3/ 22 . Treated with lumpectomy, partial breast rads and now AI’s for 5 yrs. It is my understanding that pure tubular breast cancer rarely spreads outside the breast so wouldn’t it make sense just to do a mastectomy instead of the other treatments? My surgeon steered me clear of a mastectomy but now I am wondering why? I know a mastectomy is major surgery but taking AI’s for five years affects quality of life too.
