Lymph node enlarged
I had a mastectomy two years ago following 8cm DCIS. They found 5mm of tumor and sent it for oncotype but not enough to be analysed so no chemo. All lymph nodes clear and had reconstruction.
Last year I felt a raised part under my arm same side as mastectomy. Had an ultrasound and nothing showed up so consultant thought it was just tissue. Roll on a year and I just had my yearly mammogram and ultrasound and while mammogram was clear the ultrasound showed one lymph node that was enlarged in the same area as the raised part I felt last year. They did a biopsy and are arranging a cat scan. Concerned that it’s back! Anyone had the same thing? Worried what’s next.

Yes, had a double mastectomy 7 years ago after three lumpectomies destroyed my breast. No other treatment, low oncotype score.
In july 2025, I found a small lump in the top breast skin, which everyone thought was a cyst. Had it removed and tested positive for same breast cancer. Had pet scan which showed cancer only in breast and a slightly enlarged node. Had savi seed inserted into node a week later, which was no longer enlarged. Had second surgery which came back with a clean margin but they removed the suspected node along with two others. All three were sentinel and tested positive, as well. Now I need more surgery axillary lymph node dissection, 20 weeks of chemo, and 5 weeks of radiation. So depressing.

Continue self breast exams. I stopped, assuming it was not necessary. My oncologist found the lump. Everyone assumed it was a cyst.
